can i check if conrad provides LCD projectors for those who have signed up?? i cant believe my ears when the coordinator tells me that i have to get LCD projectors myself..c'mon they are rated 4/5 star and they do not have LCD?? that is absurd!! pls advise.

Also they rate themselves as a Corporate Hotel...so if they mainly cater to businessmen and they need to hold conference, don't tell me the clients got to bring their own LCD projectors! That is ridiculous! Frankly i've already signed up with them but now feeling so regretful and am so displeased with the fact that their service is so bad and inflexible. Moreover, one of my colleague just held their wedding and she commented that it is DISAPPOINTING!!! The service is SLOW, never top up drinks and never give guests attention...leaving many guests very unhappy also the food is not fantastic.

Hmm... sounds like the same complain .... Stingy perks and no LCD projectors .... I've also signed up with them ... was pretty impressed initially but am slowly wondering if i've made the right choice. It's seems like a really basic package we are getting considering the cost we are paying ... I'm only getting a classic room and when i tried to ask for a suite upgrade, i was told that it's subject to availability.

Hi Moonfairy. I am exactly feeling the same way as you...was impressed by the ballroom but later really feeling REGRET coz the perks r not as great as other hotels and they are inflexible...WORST is no LCD projectors!!! How can a hotel have no LCD????!!!!! Frankly, they should also provide DVD player to run the express highlights. Who is ur coordinator?? My colleague was really DISAPPOINTED with the food and service. We should really raise our unhappiness and concern to the hotel.

Sigh.. same here.. i was impressed by the ballroom but perk really cannot make it... Rent LCD projectors not as though giving us LCD projectors. why so stingy.. Oh dear i still thought their food quite good disappointed with the feedback..

Hi San. Have u booked your banquet dinner at Conrad?? Have u tried to negotiate with them?? Everyone is SHOCKED when i tell them that Conrad does NOT provide LCD projectors. The managment should really looked into this as i think it is a very serious minus point and being uncompetitive in the market. How to excel in customer service if they are so inflexible and stingy with the perks??? My colleague just held her wedding last week and she used the word DISAPPOINTING!!!!!!! Service is SLOW, NO drinks top up, dishing/plating is SLOW, NO attention. Food is SO-SO only. Sigh...so DAMN disappointing!!

I had my wedding in Conrad a month ago. Service was superb though! My guests commented that the food was really good especially the sharks fin. The portions are big too. Guests were all very full. Service was alright, although there were 2 accidents where one of it was the staff spilled 7-up on 1 of my guest, in the end she got a bottle of wine plus a big conrad bear to take home. No Complaints about that.

Hmmm in my opinion, i think even though they don't provide projectors, the ballroom and foyer sells by itself. Otherwise, It won't be booked for most of the weekends. Well... Just my 2 cents worth =)

Think it's the hotel's management's decision to not provide us with too many perks. I think my coordinator is rather helpful but may not be within her control to give more perks because it seems like the management's decision if everyone has the same issue. But I do feel that the price we paid should give us slightly better perks that will assure us all that we've certainly made the right decision. Now I guess some of us are wondering if other big names will provide better at about the same cost....

Hmm...the price we pay at Conrad is about the same or more than the other big names..they really lack in perks. Plus all the negative feedback and benefits...it is greatly DISHEARTENING.

(( I really hope that the management will seriously look into the issue as discussed earlier . I really pray HARD and keep my fingers crossed now.

Hi Bom pi pi,

I book with conrad abt 4 months back bec my wedding is on Jun 09.

Yup for the price we pay really getting not much...

Now i only pray hard that their service n food will be good... These 2 factor will leave a very deep impression on the guest.

I just had my wedding a week ago, all my guests were impressed with the service, ambience and food..just that one of the waitress spilled some wine accidentally..apart from that Conrad gives us lovely memories of our wedding day..and best part, they upgraded our bridal suite to a much bigger one..

bom_pi_pi

Hi Starry, did Conrad provide 2 LCD projectors?? Well, if the waitress has spilled wine on your guest, that is really BAD enuf..what's more to say about their good service?? How was the quality of the food? Were they slow in plating, making the guests impatient? Well, i just felt that Conrad should be more flexible in giving perks and not so stingy. I really felt so injustice and disappointed after receiving/hearing the negative comments.

hi all,

yes majority will complaint abt the LCD projectors. I have no problems with it as my hubby can bring his own frm office. But I have been to a friend's wedding at Conrad at 2007. It was superb, and my wedding will be at conrad on 01 Jan 09. So far, we are very happy with the services. We got what we wanted. Our coordinator is really good.

The favours you can choose between the bears or the chocolate pralines. The quality of the food is good..so i wonder why you all said was lousy. Most guests were impressed with the big and delicious portion. Perhaps should discuss more with your coordinator. My coordinator has been generous so far. She waived off our wine cockage charges and gave us more cards, more complimentary carpark tixs, upgraded us to a bigger room...co-reserved us for presidential suite on the contract subject to availability.

during my ROM, my coordinator even gave us a Bog Conrad Bear, complimentary car park tixs and a box of 12 chocolates pralines. Each time we meet up with her, we all have complimentary tea/coffee and snacks at the cafe.

well i am not selling Conrad, but if talking abt spills of wines...other hotels also have the same prob as they all uses part timers. It is unavoidable. For service to be slow, it then depends on how you brief the staff before your wedding dinner starts.

Feedback to Conrad on LCD is possible. Perhaps its time they should look into it.

actually i agreed with Vallous. I too had my wedding last Dec. All my guests were happy with the food and service. Of cos, again, no LCD projectors were provided. However it posed as no issue as right from the on-start, we are aware of this. Spillage is common during wedding dinners, it's more on what was being done after the spillage to compensate the inconvenience. It happened at my wedding dinner too, instead of my guest coming to complain to me, it's the banquet manager that came to inform us after the wedding dinner and assured us that they had done the neccessary. Pick-up and drop-off of my guest's shirt was arranged with dry cleaning service and also a bottle of wine was given. Frankly, not all hotels provide such service.

HI Vallous and WP, thanks for your affirmation. A hotel should not practise double standards by depending who the coordinator is. Ultimately we are the ones paying to the hotel with the same prevailing wedding package and price.

Hi Vallous,

I am considering Conrad for my AD. We have been down to take a look and was attended to by Jeannie (hope I spelled her name correctly) who was very friendly. Just wondering if she is your coordinator? If not, can you send your coordinator's contact to [email protected]?

Thanks!

Din know there was a Conrad thread here. I just had my ROM at the beginning of Dec this year. Coordinator was Catheryn Tan. She was quite flexible with the perks for ROM package and waived off corkage for wines and bar setup charges for alcoholic drinks if less than certain amount. I love the whole event. Service was excellent. They even gave us some little Conrad wedding bears after my very young cousin asked me for the bears which I brought down from my room.

They even offered a Day room at no charges when I checked in a day before my ROM. I really like their services. Maybe cos my coordinator was the director of catering sales... Haha..

hi PT Bear,

glad u enjoyed it.I guess the position does help in some ways for being flexible. My coordinator is the assistant director of catering sales.

hi all i just had my wedding at Conrad a few months back and the feedback from my guests were unanimously great! The food not only came in generous portions but tasted really good, especially the shark fin. The ambience speaks for itself...I think it's difficult to find ballrooms in Singapore which offer a grand reception area and exclusivity (since it's the only ballrm in the hotel). The co-ordinator and banquet manager we worked with were all fantastic too...the only thing I would say is that the Centennial Suite is quite small (upgrade to Presidential Suite is subject to availability). All in all, I'm so glad we chose Conrad.

Hi all,

I just had my wedding on 1st Jan 09. The wedding went perfectly well and great. There wasnt any glitch of error during the dinner. The guests all praised the food and ambience of the grandeur decorations in the ballroom. Because of the exclusiveness of the only ballroom in the hotel it was not a prob for parking or even going to the wrong reception area. Our coordinator and the banquet manager that night was fabulous. He recommended us many of the cues and best positions and timings for the march in. And the effect was absolutely great. Food was hot and generously a lot. The sharks fin was the main highlight and tat didnt let me down.

Centennial suite is small but we like it cosy. We even managed to extend our 2 nights stay to 3 nights at a exceptionally good rate. Service was tip top from all levels of mgmt there. I was surprised that they waived off our laundry and dry cleaning services..we even got our extra decorations for our ballroom waived off. We were delighted. Like captain piglet, it was the best and the most formal grand wedding I dreamed of and I got it. We are glad to choose Conrad too.

In addition,

for those who worries that service is slow. It didnt happen for us. We managed to start our wedding dinner at 8pm sharp and finished off at 10.15 pm. The earliest and our guests even refuses to go home cos it was too early.

hi bompipi,

my theme was scarlet. Yes there was deco at the reception table and areas. There were dark red rose petals all around it and tea lights. Very exquisite.

Conrad's lightings were fabulous..very romantic..yup i agree with captain piglet...my march in shots were great.

Thanks for sharing in advance.. or can pm me your perks...

hi cher,

nope we brought our own 2 LCD projectors as my hubby have free access to it at his office so its not a prob for us at all. We already have 2 free nights stay at Conrad and we extended one more night at a really good discounted rate.

Cher, let me reinforced again..Conrad doesnt give much free perks, if you really looking for a hotel that gives a lot of perks..i dun think it fits you. But we can only say Conrad promises and grants it. Those we tried it will feel its worth the cost.

hi kerri, my AD professional pics are not out yet. But we can view it at multiply if you have it for the shots taken from friends. I will PM u.

Thanks Vallous,

So the additional nite stay is one of the perks? But their suite is quite small right?

Another one of my concern is that the date im looking at is the week just after the F1...so not sure whether the road accessibility will be affected or not..

Other than this, we are really quite happy with conrad and would love to have our wedding there..

Congrats!! that a good news... I hope my wedding will be as successful as yours...

Err.. mind sharing at what rate they coded you for the extra night? i am thking of extending too...

hi cher, the additional nite stay we last min then decided. But our coordinator gave a good discount rate of $258 for the Centennial Suite, we tot was almost $600 onwards. Compared to other hotels..yes its small. Like I said we had no problems with it as we prefer the cosyness. Only 2 ppl stay so big dunno for wat. Anyway there is a helpers room and another function room next to the ballroom for preparation. So we dun need so big bridal room to stay.

As for the road closure..you can consult your coordinator.

Other perks i remember was waive off laundry and dry cleaning for your clothes. If you like..I can PM those my multiply pics..there I took some pics of the Centennial Suite.
