Hi gals,
I had my wedding banquet in Chijmes last Sept. It was absolutely an awesome experience. Had taken the package from Chijmes as we dun want the hassle of looking for caterer and florist etc. Good thing Chijmes had already came up with the package then thou it was pretty new and not very tested yet, me and hubby decided to go for it after much consideration. No regrets! Food was fantastic and guests were commenting on the good food even until now half a year later. The deco was beautiful and romantic, just the way i love it to be. Everything was done so tastefully that both our parents were so happy and proud even though initailly they were not much for the idea of having the dinner at Chijmes, we were just so glad we went ahead with it, it has brought me lots of beautiful memories of the wedding and really it's like a dream come true
Guess all our guests enjoyed the ambience and good service Chijmes provided as much as we do. Truely the place was really charming and out of the world with the high ceiling and many chandeliers to give a classy and unique feel that is so different from the normal ballroom setting.
Initially when we first decided on Chijmes, we also struggled with the restrictions it came with, like pillars blocking the stage, bad sound system, limited carpark spaces, no access to toilets etc but after going through the wedding, we found that it was really not too bad and some of the worries were actually unfounded. Anyway there are always pros and cons to any location so it really depends on what is important to you. Been to many of the other hotels for wedding before and other drawbacks are much worse than that e.g. having guests walking into the wrong ballroom and finding some other couples' ang pows in their ang pow box and they wondered if theirs had gone to other people's box. At least this wun happen in Chijmes lar hehe
