Hi Gals

Can you all share with me how do you go about your entire day's schedule?

Eg, pick bride up, go to groom's house, then back to bride's house, then go to couple's new house, then church etc etc etc. I can't seem to figure out how to do it.. geez..

Hi grace and agnes, I've fwd'd the link of my pix to u via email already

The caterer I had was Lavish Dine. It was good, and many guests complimented the food. Service was good too. In fact, I changed a number of dishes... I think 3, they didn't put restrictions. The roast are their specialty (lamb, beef and chicken), their bread & butter pudding was good too.

Fairybride, u've got the right sequence, but then again, it depends on how flexible your plans are. I had mine all in church (i met my hubby in church direct, then recept, followed by tea ceremony).

Hi ladies, any idea if Rasel only does decoration alone? I have another caterer I really like, but I don't think he does deco. I need to do something to the parish hall for use for reception lunch after the wedding service.

Jmi> can you pls send me your freelance contact for florist?

Thanks!!

Hi claire,

To be honest, I have used Rasel and their deco is nothing to shout about. I used Rasel because they had some deco and food had good reviews.

I think professional decorators/florists will give you a better deal

thanks for the recommendations Jmi! Anyway, if anyone is looking for excellent food, just email me at [email protected]. I haven't used him for a wedding-like event, but I trust him with all my corporate catering. Nice guy who's willing to accomodate. Most importantly, his food never fails to impress!

I'll definitely check with Mia.

Hi All,
i have booked st francis xiaver for my 26th Sept 09 wedding.Anyone who has booked SFX? Thinking of which choir to use.

Hi fifteenmay,
I'm using SFX as well. My wedding's on 16 Aug. You may wish to contact Mabel who is a volunteer organist and piano teacher by trade. She is able to get u a cantor for free but basically, that's only 1 person singing. If you want to engage a choir from the church, you can get the rates from her as well. Just for u to get a feel of the cost, the 7am choir charges $800 whereas the youth choir charges more than $1000. So, it's more economical to get Mabel to play the organ for u which is free (just a token of appreciation will do though she won't ask from u but I think it's nice to give it to her for helping) and the cantor which she will help source for u will also be free. So, it's really up to you. If you want her number, do PM me. Alternatively, you can ask the church secretary for help in getting the respective contact for the various choirs

Hi Ocean,
I was looking at Trevor's choir. I only need him to make the singing beautiful actually but not too sure if he does weddings.
The receptionist in SFX Aint too friendly.

Hi fifteenmay,

You may want to read my post dated March 23 2008 regarding the choir. My hubby and I find the church secretary nice and friendly. Maybe you didnt talk to her at the right time. You know, busy, etc. Don't worry about it.

Don't have to spend too much on choir. Read my post and contact Mabel if you want to. Alternatively, engage Philip Lye to sing and play the organ for u. Too many cooks spoil the broth. if you have further queries, do feel free to ask. If I can help, I will

All the best!

Hi Ocean,
thanks for the advice. BTW, who is Philip Lye? I keep seeing his name pop out in good reviews.
Which church does he belong to?

We wehnt in after mass and there wasnt anyone before us but the answers she gave were quite curt and short. My htb spoke to her quite a few times and she is always unfriendly, ah well, a small matter : )

Hi fifteenmay,

Philip Lye is an organist cum soloist. He has been in this profession for decades. Very good natured. Occassionally, u may see his ad in the Catholic News. Here's his contact, in case u need it:6566 1683

Have u decided on the florist for the church deco? How about the choir or organist and cantor?

Don't worry abt the secretary. Probably bad day

Hi gals,
I am thinking of having my wedding next yr at st.anne's. what is the usual procedure like? do we call the parish secretary or call the priest directly?

Hi Huishan, Yr wedding's at Aug 09? It's so strange I called the parish secretary and she told me the calendar for 2009 is not out yet so it's still too early to book. I'm planning my wedding at Sept 09 in St Anne's.

Hi Dawn, your PM is not activated. Will you be holding yours at SFX? Coz' I think Mabel only helps at SFX as she is a volunteer organist. Of course, a token of appreciation will be right based on what are the usual charges for the other choirs.
