Hi there

Do any of you gals include a map of the church - St Teresa church to be exact with your invite card?

I'm designing my own card but the hotel has it's own map with driving pass, so I'm trying to fit map of church into somewhere as I don't want to have so many inserts.

Hi Jmi. I included a map with my invitations. But I printed on inserts. I can email you the map I used if you like. I also had the bus guide added in.

Hi beanniebean,

Remember to try and eat a bit if you can... :p
Hahahha!
Or recommend your friend to cater from them so you get to try their food properly another time (That's what I did!) :p

I hope to do that as well but most of my friends wedding in Dec and Jan. SAD!

Nevermind, I do have confident in Rasel after seeing so much good review about them

hi hi! I catered from Rasel twice so far before my wedding (which is really soon!) and on both occasions, everyone had no complains about their food and some even commented the food was nice! So I have no doubt about their food tastiness
happy.gif
They're good in that aspect!

I do feel that their service can be improved though. I always get a very rushed and impersonal feel whenever I call them. I know they've got lots of business but I still value personalised service. Oh well, tough to get both in one go

Hi,

I'm new here.

I'm getting married in Dec and just started the whole planning now. Heard from many friends that December happen to be a popular month for wedding. My HB and I travel alot for business trip and have no time to sit down to discuss on what we want and when we realise it, Opp! we're late.

Can anyone advise me on florist, wedding card and caterer? Which is good??

I really need many help from here and appreciate if you could share your experiene with me.

Hi jastea,

From your post, I gather you are not having the traditional wedding dinner at a hotel/restaurant right? Lucky you
happy.gif

Which church are you holding your wedding at?

I had mine at Immaculate Heart of Mary, and I just used the church florist.

For wedding cards, I did a simple one piece card, printed from home.

For caterer, Rasel is good!

Hi bbp

You are right, we are not planning for traditional wedding. I'm holding my wedding at St terea church. Can you show me a sample of your wedding card?

Seem that many ppl uses Rasel for wedding catering, can i know how much you pay for it? We don't mind to spent more on food since we are not planning for traditional wedding. Any website or contact which I can call for their quotation?

Hi jastea,

You're another St Teresa's bride. I'm also getting married there this Dec.

My wedding cards, mass booklet & flavours' label were of the same theme. It was a wedding gift from a designer friend.

For florist, I have engaged a freelance to decorate up the church.

As for caterer, won't be able to advise you though cos I am not holding a reception in church

bbp: Thanks! I got my quote from Elsie. I think she quite nice, she gave me quite a good menu. I think most slighty I'll take them.

Hi Jmi, when is your wedding date? I'm still sourcing for wedding card and florist.

Is it a must to have wedding favours??

Hi Jmi,

Can you share with your florist contact (through PM)? I am also going to hold my wedding in St Theresa-Jan 2008. Are you holding your wedding in the morning or afternoon

I need someone who is holding wedding in the afternoon to give me some advice. The wedding mass will only start at 3pm, by the time it ends, do you think I have enough time to give a simple reception to close friends and family before heading back to the hotel for dinner at night?

I have already booked the hotel, so can' change it to another date. the only thing I can change is whether to do away with the reception..but it feels strange not having any reception for my friends after all the hardwork and most of the pple attending the church wont' be going for the dinner banquet

Thanks for your advice in advance

Hi Jastea, Lysha

My wedding's on 22 Dec in the morning.

In my case, I won't be holding a reception in the church. Instead of a wedding dinner, I am having a buffet luncheon in Sentosa and most people attending the church are likely family or closed friends, the rest of the guests who are not so comfortable with church or can't get out of bed early will head straight for lunch.

In the night, I am hosting a drinks party for other friends/colleagues who are unable to attend or were not invited for lunch.

Hi Jmi

My wedding on 15 Dec. I have most of stuffs settle. My auntie is halping me with the church decoration so I don't have to look for florist. As for wedding card, I have decide to print myself. I should be ordering from Rasel since there's so much good feedback from them. My auntie tasted their food too and found them very pro in wedding.

Anyway, thanks for sharing...

hi girls! My AD just over on sat and all I want to say is, I highly recommend Rasel (good food!) and Mia from Blissfulthots. The church deco was fabulously done. I don't have the photos yet but all I can say is, for the price Mia charges, she really provides too much

She's nice and accommodating too!

hello brides to be

I need your opinion on the following

Do you think I am cutting it too close if I hold a church reception right after my afternoon wedding ( ard 4pm), before dashing off to the hotel for dinner reception. Would I have enough time?

The problem is I need to hold my dinner reception on the same day as my church wedding. But my church wedding can only start at 3pm (St Theresa). I am inviting 2 different sets of friends to church and dinner banquet, those who go for church may not be attending dinner, vice versa, except for abt 10-15 ppl attending both.

Assuming my wedding ends on time 4pm, after phototaking, do I have time to mingle with my guest? Is it rude to leave at 5pm for hotel? ( that only gives me an 1/2 breather before the MUA comes along for make up. I am just afraid that I am squeezing too many things and will look tired for the whole day

If not,I probably should start the dinner late, say 8.30pm sharp? Then I can ask my MUA to come only at 6.45pm?

Can any of you holding your wedding mass in the afternoon, share with me how you plan for the wedding program if you have the dinner on the same day? Gate crashing, tea ceremony, church and dinner all in 1 day..sounds very tiring.

I need a workable plan. Thanks

Hi Bride

Glad to know that Rasel did well in your wedding. So I can peacefully order from them for my wedding. Any picture to share? I'm arranging a meet-up with them on Saturday to view their set up and pay deposit. Is there anything which I have to take note of before I sign with them??

hi jastea, I don't have the pics yet. But as far as I know, rasel will give you some colour themes to choose from. Depending on your package price, you are entitled to different stuff like brownies for all guests, fresh flowers for deco etc. What I find is that rasel is hard to negotiate for more, unlike the other caterers. We chose them purely because of their good food. Frankly speaking, service-wise and flexibility, we felt other caterers were more accommodating. But for us, the emphasis was on only the food so it depends on what's impt to you

Hi Bride,

They're quite flexible when I call to negotiate. What we like from them of cos the feedback on their food and good services. At first I was quite lose on the selection of menu and prices but she's very patient to explain and tell me more about the menu and different packages unlike other caterer. I believe due to the heavy order during Dec where other caterers feels that they can afford to lose me as their customer.

I see that there are quite a number of brides having their wedding at St. Thersa. May I know what is the cost for the church rental, etc, and if they allow non parishioners to have their wedding there? Thanks!

Hi Ocean blue,

The standard token is $200 for the church. Add $300 for church annex foyer or $200 for the canteen for reception.

I think they accept non-parishioners.

Hi ladies,

I very "KAN CHONG" now. My wedding date drawing very near on this sunday. I'm not applying for any leave so I'm only doing my medicure and facial on friday evening, am I still in time?

Jastea,

I just attended a friend church wedding last weekend, she also cater from Rasel and I saw Elsie helping around too. Frankly their food really yummy and decoration too, so I think both of us don't have to worried about their standard of food anymore,

Hi Beanniebean

Congra! Can feel that you must be nervous now, me too! my wedding on 15 Dec. Another good feedback from rasel given, good to share with me. Can sleep better now.

I'm abit worried last week, my auntie just order from a well known caterer, Kri*ton. Now sure if you know. She share her quotation with me which timing was suppose to be 1.00pm but their food reach at 11+ and worst time is it has this funny smelly taste after awhile. I think their food not very fresh. I did'nt eat on that day, lucky me. Many of my relative got stomach upset after eating, my mum was one of them.

I think standard of food and hygiene very importance. I regret that I should ask her to order from Rasel, at least I have more confident in them

Hello all, newbie here...I was jus telling some others in the other channels about this props company renting out wedding decor props. (sorry if i'm like raving about this cos i never heard of any company doing this before)

I was telling them about the beautiful Roman pillar arches they have. Since you guys having church wedding, they also have things like traditional prayer benches and lovely candles to put by the isle. I'm thinking of renting some of their stuff for my solemnisation decor.

Go check it out! www.lesthespians.com, click on "rentals" then "wedding items"

Jastea - shouldn't you make a report to some food authority or something? that's so dangerous! some pple with lower immunity might get more serious stomach poisoning or something.

Thanks for your concern. Since my auntie organise this party, she should the one to decide whether to report or not. I believe she did'nt pay for her buffet, they also scare she report or something

Does anyone know...

Is it possible to hold a weddding service(not mass) on a sunday? Do you know which church has that?

I've actually booked 01 Jul 08(Tues) as an alternative, tho originally, 25 May 08(Sun) was our preferred date. This is because, Father Arro (St Teresa) told me to choose a non-Sunday. But after that I sorta hear of cases where wedding svc is held on a Sunday...

Blessed 2008

Hi FSS,

If I'm not wrong, it's up to the church to decide if they allow weddings to take place on a sundays. If they do, then the wedding would be a service and not mass. I guess that was why Fr Arro told you to choose a non-sunday for your wedding due to 1 or both reasons stated. In addition to checking which church allows a wedding service to take place on a sunday, you will also have to check if the church allows non parishioner to use its premise. Not all churches allow that due to various reasons. Is it possible to hold it on a sat? A wedding mass can be held if both parties are baptised catholics. If not, a wedding service will be held instead.

Just my 2cts worth and a blessed new year to you too!

Hi Ocean blue,

I don't know if u're booking St Teresa, but some info in advance.

1. There's no room for changing, u have to do so in the (disability) toilet.
2. The sacristan is strict about timing. The church only opens 1hr before mass. U have to arrange your florist either nite before or when it opens (be prepared).
3. Delvinia's choir (and songs recommendation) is good. She's a responsible person, and sings beautifully too. Choir chrgs separately.
4. Get the priest/solemniser to sign the consent form when u make appt with them, before going to ROM.

Have a blissful wedding and wonderful 2008!!

Hi FSS,
You're most welcome

EE is very enriching. You and your htb will definitely get lots out of it as long as you go there with an open mind and heart and share with true honesty. I will be having mine at St. Francis Xavier on 16 Aug 2008 (Sat). It's a mass that will be celebrated by Fr. Anthony Ho

Hi FSS

I held my wedding mass at St Teresa, 8 dec, 10am... followed by recept at canteen.

FYI, Del recommended march in song, Sanctus by Libera (u can look up in youtube). Very lovely song, sung by boys... acoustic effect perfect at St Teresa
