Hi all,

I am planning to treat my hubby to a buffet in Bangkok cos we will be there for his birthday. Has anyone know of a good place/hotel for great buffet? Any kinda food is fine. Thanks!

Hi khaler,

I dunno...I think if going to Thailand, the best wld be to eat Thai food or seafood instead of international buffets. I've stayed at a few hotels in BKK before, and I really can't remember much abt their buffets, but I can remember the thai / seafood restaurants easily. Food there is quite cheap. U can eat at a nice Thai restaurant and pay only less than S$20 for 2 pax.

Hi all,

thanks so much for all your suggestions. ya man, the seafood there is simply thumbs up for value and taste... heehee....the cabbages and condom place sounds kinky, may go there and check it out. Just can't wait for this weekend! Wonder if I shd avoid eating chicken...

Hi khaler

If ure unsure abt eating the chicken, they have lotsa other alternatives like fish, crab, beef, pork etc...so u'll be spoilt for choice! I think they'll tell you that its safe to eat chicken, and it probably is, but Thailand hasn't licked the bird flu problem yet, so it could be better to play it safe.

Hi
I dunno of any great buffet place but i know this place that sells good and cheap food and in a modern style restaurant. Is nearby the novotel siam square. u have to cross one lane from the hotel (parallel to the hotel) then make a right turn, is called something like "... payaya restaurant" there's alot of young pple dining there probably need to queue for 15 mins.. the menu are in thai but just tell the manager u cant speak thai and ask him to recommend it cost us around SIN $30 for 4 adults..the salad is a must try, and not forgeting the chicken wings yummy!!

Hi all,
im back from the bangkok trip and boy i am sure i put on 2 kgs in 3 days. i managed to eat local street food, found a dinner buffet and basically every hour Im munching and drinking away. Be it fruits lah, juice lah, coconut lah, sticks of BBQ stuff... had bird nest too...
the buffet we went to is at baiyoke sky, on 78th floor, great view and cheap, abt S$19 per person, lots of selection, but i think frankly the quantity surpasses the quality.
A pity didn't managed to go to cabbages n condoms but will surely bear it in mind!

Hi erowen,

yup, okeanosmao is right, just tell any cabby driver and they should be able to bring u there. I am not sure if its a everyday thing, I went on a weekend, I have their tel number - 02-656-3000, U can call to check and reserve a table for window seats.

For me, the best thai restaurant in bkk is baan kanitha at soi ruam rudee (near conrad hotel). Food is fantastic and service is good. The ambience at the restaurant is good too.

If you like bbq buffet, opposite Asia Hotel there is a local bbq buffet, not much soup, as it the riase up in the middle type. using charcoal.
Cost only 89 baht.
I didnt get try it, as i only discovered it on my last day there. its more on different type of seasoned meat, dont think i see any seafood.

Hi Hi,

Anyone been to BKK recently?

Some people feedback that Baiyoke Sky buffet is only cheap for their in-house guest. Otherwise, it's quite ex, abt S$70 per person. Is that true?

Thanks in advance!

I did try Cafe@2 of Conrad Hotel.
very good food and decent environment.
Price around 800++ for dinner. (Price may be higher now)
It is a good place to entertain friends and make them feel well treated.
But it did cost me a lot.......

Enjoy~~

The dinner buffet at the Peninsula is fantastic (book ahead for a table by the river). Food is very fresh (they guarantee it will not stand for more than 10 minutes), entrees & desserts are inside and 'live' cooking stations are outside. You choose your food (prawns, lobster tails, NZ lamb, venison etc etc) and they cook it to your requirements and then bring it to your table. Impeccable service and desserts are 'to die' for.
