btw is Ibis Siam near any BTS station? and have u visited Heartland Massage and Spa? if u have which location u visited and how did u get there? coz i thinking of goin there as alot of forumers say there is good...

Dreamer ... Ibis Siam isnt near any BTS...the nearest is Victory (someting) station.. anyway, hb & i tried taking BTS frm Chatuchak to Siam Stn & find tat its more expensive than to jus take a cab.. most of the time we travel by cab & frm Ibis Siam to Siam area is only around 65-70 baht which is around $3-4 ... quite worth it..

unless u hvnt take BTS before & wanna try to fun, i would recommend.. if not, i tink take Cab will save all trouble of walking...

FYI on Asiarooms cancellation/refund...
Asiarooms has a good service for booking for rooms however even though they have promised you refund. They take very very long to refund your payment. Abt half a year or more to get back your money, so my advise to those who booked thru Asiarooms to think twice before you proceed to postpone or requesting for refund.

Go and do some research on their refund / postpone service. Its really not as good as their booking service. Thats why i would prefer precision reservation more than Asiarooms because of this.

There are alot of bad comments for the refund/postpone service they provided. So if you have really booked thru them, DON'T CANCEL & REQUEST FOR REFUND. You will cause yourself more trouble to get back the money'

YANLING... URGENT here!! Not sure if you can help. A friend of me tried to book Arnoma Hotel via Asiaroom but as the rooms are full, she is not able to get a room. Under this kind of circumstances, will the refund take place 6 months later?? Shouldn't they refund my friend immediately since they are not able to get a room for her?? What's the rationale for holding onto the payment till 6 months later?
Did you or your friend encounter such experience? Care to tell me more. This friend is kind of pushing me for help cos I recommended Asiaroom to her.. sigh...

There are websites where you can check on the availability of hotel rooms BEFORE you give your credit card info.
these are 2 such sites: www.sawadee.com & www.hotels2thailand.com

I have booked hotel rooms in BKK and Phuket using these 2 sites. No problems.

Hi L.S... Thanks for your advice. But currently my friend has given her details to Asiaroom. Actually I have booked my room via Asiaroom too. As there are no more rooms available for Asia Hotel, I then switched to Samran Place using the same website. There wasn't any prob for my case. Asiaroom only deducted the hotel charges for Samran and not Asia.
Anyway, it is not right for Asiaroom to hold onto payment if they cant provide the room right? Anyone has encounter such cases before? Any solution to it?

I really hope to help my friend to settle this prob asap.

Booked hotels through asiarooms twice. 1st time in March, booked Holiday Inn Silom and cancelled it. They took about 3 weeks to revert the money to my account. After that,m i again use asiaroom to book Baiyoke Sky. 2nd time in october, tried to book Baiyoke Sky but was told that it was full. They revert to say that the amount would be freed in a 3 working days. I checked my account after 3 days, but, the amount was not freed. Wrote them an email and they always say will return asap. In the end, they took about 1 week plus to do that. Hope that the information would be able to help you.

i did two booking at Asiaroom early this month but hotel was not available for both cases(In the end i booked thru another website.) No charges by asiaroom on my card statemnt.

LY: Rooms full, the amt is put on hold only until a room is confirmed booked. If no rooms is booked then they will refund back. I booked thru precision reservation, they only deduct the amt upon room confirmation. If rooms full then no need to make payment. Its like making an enquiry for price before you make payment. Thats the good thing. Although price might be slightly higher by SG$10 for some hotels.

What i have said previously does not apply to rooms full. It only applies after your room is confirmed and deducted, thereafter you decide to do any postpone/cancellation which will be very troublesome.
I guess most of the booking also takes a long time to processed because they have to double check the amt whether is it in their account etc. thats why it took quite some time.

Can anybody share the experience with asiarooms too?

I just made my booking yesterday morning. I have 6 adults, 2 children and 1 infant going with me to bangkok. Then I booked 3 rooms at Pathunam Princess with asiarooms. They are still processing the booking and have not revert yet.

Any idea when will the booking be confirmed?.. even though they stated 24-48hrs. Or when the rooms are fully booked?

And how do I request for a baby cot?.. coz the website didn't indicate anything on the baby cot.

Also, is it ok if there are 3 adults in one room?... will they allow it?...

It's my first trip to bangkok. and I'm so excited.
Can anyone tell me whether there will be jam in the morning from the airport to pathunam princess?.. I will be reaching bangkok at abt 9am..

But I read from the website that they say if room is not available, we will not be charged.

dun worry, u wont be charged. I just book thru asiarooms as well and initially wanted to stay at Indra Regent during my BKK trip but was fully booked. they had notified me thru email tat it was fully booked. Keep the email first until u receive your mthly statement for credit card payment

my 2 cents worth on hotel bookings by sawadee & asia rooms...

for sawadee, you are charged Thai baht and u pay in SGD. Rates depends on your credit card exchange rate... deposits are not refundable.. and balance must be paid by credit card before arrival of the hotel.. hotel voucher will only be sent to you after final payment.

Asia Rooms rates are displayed in SGD but you will be charged in USD. exact rate depends on credit card exchange rate too.. if u cancel more than 7 days, there will be a USD15 charged to your CC. if its 7 days or less, then its 1 nite charge. hotel voucher sent to you once hotel reservation is confirmed.

hoshi5: you won't be charged. That amt is just placed on hold in case you decide to cancel booking after they have confirmed. Thats why i always say if you want cheap rooms, book at asiarooms but make sure you don't postpone or cancel it, otherwise trouble comes...
Usually it takes 1 day to few days (less than a week) unless you are booking a date too far off.

Yeah platinum mall is within walking distance from Pratunam Market. Not very far. Lies along main road.

Hi Hoshi, BKK is not hot now. Oct-Dec is their coolest season. It's sunny but not humid and hot like SG or M'sia. I think the average temp there is about 30 degrees now. It drizzles in BKK ocassionally so the weather is pretty cool esp in the evenings.

you can try to click on the payment link in their email, then key in your reservation #.. if it doesn't work, you can reply to their confirmation email for the deposit made, and they will get back to you..

i also booked thru sawadee.. but taking twin towers hotel.. hope tat helps!
