Anyone engaged personal trainer in gym before?

Hi,

I'd been going to the gym since August last year and managed to lose 3+ kgs after only about 6 months. I tried to go at least twice a week, but I normally go to classes like combat, pump and TBT. Now contemplating the idea to engage a personal trainer to lose another 7 kgs to my ideal weight.

I tried the trial session and it was good. But 1 session does not speak for the rest. Anybody had engaged a personal trainer to slim down before your big day? Is it worth the investment and how long does it take to see the results?

Hi Shirley,

I engaged a PT b4 my big day. I managed to tone down my body with his guidance. I lost only a few kg but my body is more firm & tone.

But you must be really put in the effort to go for the exercise with PT & you have to control your diet too.

Results is depend on individual.

Good luck.

I lost about 15kg in 4 months with a personal trainer. He's pretty cheap and effective and you don't have to sign up for gym. He can go to your house. My bridal shop was so amazed at my weight loss that even my designer hired him as she's getting married too.

I watch my diet on weekdays but eat better on weekends as my mum tends to cook more. I also went for buffets occasionally in the 4 months. Don't have to deprieved yourself of food. Just google and read why restricting calories intake on a long term basis is not the right way to lose weight.

I also feel healthier, no longer panting when I climb overhead bridges. So gals, to lose weight, do it the right way.

I've engaged the gym trainer recommended by CareBearz. Just wish to say that Eddy is a very nice trainer who does not do hard selling.

He is professional and is Never late for training at the gym, which I really appreciate.

I was initially apprehensive about engaging a male trainer (my prev was a lady) cos I was abit shy, but the trainer made me feel comfortable, and always knew when he could push me further, and when he needed to lend a hand.

It's only been 1 mth (I could only train once a week) but my arms are more toned, and I feel better and more confident about my body already.

A few ladies have PM to enquire about my experience and charges with the gym trainer so I would just share with everyone here, what I've also shared with other forumers.

My prev female PT was v costly cos I on top of her fees, I gotta top up abt $80 per mth (a few yrs bk) to sign up w Amore Fitness.

I can't swear Eddy's super good or what cos I've heard some PTs r ranked and priced accordingly. Eg my colleague had a 'platinum' grade PT at Fitness First, abt $95 each session. In my opinion, he doesn't hard sell n is motivating. I'm just glad I feel comfortable w him cos I'm abit conscious working out infront of a guy.

He charged me $65/session or $600/10 sessions. He travels to my condo gym so I save on mthly gym membership. U might want to check w him cos I think he might charge depending on distance too.

In terms of sincerity, I feel Eddy appreciates ur commitment n effort more than the money la. As a workg mom of 2 kids, I cld only afford to meet him once a wk n he is perfectly fine. I wld prefer to spend any other free time w my kids. So I din exercise any extra or diet. But I'm able to Feel and see tt my body has toned. My frens tell me so too so I'm happy la.

Each session is abt 1hr 10min, unless I say I must go on d dot. He usu ask if I'm free to do a little longer eg on cardio or toning.

He brings along some training ropes so it's ok if the gym is not very well equiped..

Pls contact him only if you are truly committed to work out ok?

Hi..

I am looking for someone to work out with a PT in YCK Stadium at 6pm. We will likely train outdoors, and not so much in a gym.
Not sure whether anyone is keen? My PT is a guy..

Email me if you are keen.
