i highly recommend Mr Jude Yeo whos popular in this forum too.
Met up with him few days ago and he nt only went thru the solemnization process with us, but he took alot of his time talking abt the success and pitfalls of marriage. He's a very sincere man and passionate in what he is doing.

Hi Bubu,

Congrats to you and your FH. So when is your big day?

Me and my FH also met up with our Solemnisor, Mr. Yeo.

Indeed, he is very detailed in explaining the importance of marriage and vows.

We are also glad to have him as our Solemnisor. ^u^

Hi Girls,

There are a lot of very famour JPs outside who are usually difficult to engage.

I engaged Prof. Kwoh Chee Kiong as my JP. He is really nice, very patient. In fact on AD, he came earlier than the time we invited him. He is tolerable in the sense that when my daddy forgot to bring his IC, he asked us to send the soft copy to him by email instead of asking one of us to go back home on the same day

FYI, he is NTU lecturer. So for those who were NTU students like me n hubby, he can be considered as the one

Paul> Hi and congrets to your upcoming ROM. My solemnizer is Prof Yu he can speak English and Chinese too. More information of him could be found at the following thread http://www.singaporebrides.com/forumboard/messages/539/405015.html?1231323003

Actually you should have a date in mind, and I think you should had it by now. First you have to look for the splemnizer and check if he is free and available on your date and time. If he agree than get his Lic No. cause you need this to e-file for your ROM online. You would also need to get the solemnizer's signature for the consent form which could be found on the ROM website. You can either arrange for a meet up or sent via email the consent form. The consent form is only submit to ROM office when you are given the appt date which would be abt 1 week to your ROM date

Hi, the last time i also wanted to use Chia Swee Tin, but i din find her very friendly... quite different from what i heard about her... so through a friend's recommendation, I had Mr Raymond Wee as my solemniser. I found him very professional and easy to work with. he can be reached at [email protected]

I have since recommended him to 2 other friends, they are both very happy with him.. he is bilingual..

I'm abit blur here..Need to ask..
How many months in advance do I need to call and chomp the JP? Also, is there like a meet-up before the day of solemnisation - ie. is it necessary?

Not sure what is the usual practice...appreciate some enlightenment..

Gene> 3mths before your ROM date need to call up the JP and ask if he is available. Some JP require you to meet up with him but some do not... it is not a must to meet up the JP it really depend on their timing as they are only helping out as a JP.

Christy > thanks!! I am thinking of getting Mr Yeo, coz I see that there are many postive feedback about him...I also got no one in mind already...

I called Mr Chan once, and he gave me those nonchalant reply over the phone..and told me to call back again..preferably about 3 months before my ROM..

Who did you invite for yours Christy?

Gene> You mean Mr Yeo is Mr Yeo Woon Soo?? If he is the one, he is one of the JP in my list the last time I ROMed.

Prof Yu also will ask you to call back 3mths before your ROM date as he is teaching in the Uni so he cannot confirm to you near to the date. Its also a guideline from the ROM to call 3 mths before your ROM date.

My JP is Prof Yu.

Christy > Ya, I meant to say Mr Yeo Woon Soo.. he seemed pretty popular in the forum..

How was your experience with Prof Yu? How old is he?? Not sure if he can make it for my ROM on weekday (night) as you mentioned he is lecturing in Uni..

np... SSHG

he is actually my good friend's friends husband. he is also a very active grassroot leader. I think he really enjoys helping people. I actually booked him about half a year ahead, as I needed to fulfil HDB's requirement. cos we wanted to hold our simple wedding reception at our own newly acquired nest, then of cos i have no banquet receipt whatsoever to produce to HDB.

I approached another female JP whom many told me she was good, but she was so sarcastic towards me when I told her I wanted to book her about 6 months in adv, she commented that "how'd she know I am not lying to her, and I will surely go through with the wedding?" when all I needed was a verbal agreement for her to be my JP. well.. maybe she had some bad experience before, but it really didn;t warrant that tone and voice that made me feel really disrespected. she didn't have the right to do that!

anyway, once again, i find Raymond with very good attitude... you just let him know what you want when you meet him before hand... all would be well.. And not forgetting.. CONGRATULATIONS!
