hihi... told my friends that my hubby is driving the car, their reaction all r the same...'huh? i nvr seen any grooms driving wor', 'wow.. he will be very tired'..blah blah blah.. all negative comments... haiz...
Btw, when my hubby come & fetch me rite, does he 1) stop the car & let the boy open the door & let his XD drive to carpark or
2) drive head straight into carpark lot?
I heard that if hubby is driving rite, he must go into the lot with the car head in first wor.. any1 heard of this before?
I really need the advise for those already hv their customary with self-driving car..

Can any brides who had the beetle car as their wedding car advise what hairstyles u having? cox we intend to let down the car top, so i dun wanna be a madwoman when coming dwn from the car...

pls pls advise.. thanks in advance...

hi groombride, my HB drove the wedding car himself too.. yes, it's much tiring, but it's more intimate i feel.. after my brother open the door for him, one of his XD will drive the car to park at the loading & unloading bay.. they didn't park at the carpark..

i also heard abt the car head thingy.. we also do that too, cos my MIL instructed us to do so.. just follow lor.. i also dunno why..

although ours is not open-top car, my friend had one for her wedding, her HB drove himself too.. my advise is to inform ur MUA about it.. she will know how to handle ur hair.. put more hair spray..

Kiang >>> yup yup.. they even tell me, wow u all want to save on AP $ also not like that mah, ask sum1 to drive instead & then u all can relax at the back.. but i already confirm & double confirm with my hubby liao, he say he ok to drive despite i tell him that he will be very tired on that day...

think now is quite common for groom to drive themselves.. i've seen a few self-drive groom recently.. it's ur own wedding, so u should be the one makig the decision, need not really listen to ur frens.. just as long u are happy can already lor..

My hubby oso drove his wedding car...but no space for the PG and VG, so they have to take the xiongdi's car. Not much stress actually, in fact quite fun & exciting

Along the highway, they jus captured all the moments. Very special i feel but quite risky for the VG & PG..

I tot we are the odd wans... cos my hubby also wan to drive his own car. At the beginning I was like the others also... but think twice, I think tat is special and I think I will feel more comfortable and relax.

But I have a headache. My hubby's car got those stickers on it and he wants to drive his car but I think it is not so nice cos it will be very messy after puttig the car deco ... sigh

Any suggestion?

I think they are jus worried cox my parents were initially worried that driving adds stress to us when we were already handling many things on that day. But i told em we wan it different! Morever, my hubby always drive so driving is like daily routine to him. The only stress we faced were trying to figure out the car that we used....cox it's not ours...hee

Hope you can eventually drive on your own

try weddingcars.com.sg...thinking of a SLK or Audi TT or Golf GTi...

i wan to self drive too!!! but WTB not too keen abt it...lots of comments abt being very tired also...but i rather have my own face in the pic rather than the driver's...

but if driving myself means renting car...cos i wan a sports car...if not will be sticking to BS' Merz...so boring...

my FH is quite keen on self-driving a convertible too but i'm afraid me and my dress cannot fit inside kekkeke

plus, with convertible, when you reach the destination, hair will be so messy! =( what if the veil fly off? =P

hi jalene,

Rented a beetle for my last sept wedding.. everyday goes well. no worries on the hair/dust. My gown is also a 'pong pong' type & my bridal assured me no problem. just to let your hair stylist know that you will be driving a convertible will do. they will spray more hair spray on you. Just imagine every1 waving at you dwn the expressway when you are driving a convertible.. reali no regrets!! its once in a life-time...

nowadays very common to have grooms driving the cars themselves, especially 2-seaters. and remember when driving, DO NOT REVERSE (hence the front-in when parking). they say that if reverse means you will regret the marriage.

Justin, you can ask your bro to park for you when you reach the destination.. this is what my hubby did also.. no worries.

hi, i will like to know more abt self drive on AD. i also will be getting my HTB to drive his own car. seeing the above message about car head in first, i will like know that if the groom is driving and stop by the carpark and let my brother open the door for him to come out first. then pass over to XD to park the car is ok for XD to reverse the car into a carpark lot?

amanda, shdnt be an issue asking the xiongdi to park the car lah... but someone must open the door for the htb lah...

my hubby self drove as well..from his place to mine, my place to his, and then to hotel. Ours was a convertible too. More fun! Parking part can just ask XD to do it... all u have to do is to get out of the car nicely
happy.gif

Hi can I ask if the bridal car must be opened by a boy when the groom reaches the bride's place? What is the significance of this? Any groom opens the car door himself?

hi all,
my hubby drove himself too. It kind of feels nice to escape from all the rest of the people for a while. heh =) so it was a good few minutes drive and have a short while together in between the tea ceremonies.

I'm planning to self-drive too for my big day in March, car is a cute cute convertible...only prob is, dunno whether my wife's gown can fit into the front passenger seat or not hahahahaha...

word of advice for those with convertibles: try not to wind down the top when u fetch ur wife from her house and for the first half of the day, wind down only when the important events are over so that u dun look like a madwoman with hair running all over the place hahahahahha...

PG + VG can sit in any of ur XDs following cars, no issues
