If you are bold and daring and you don't want to go for the usual look, you can try the hair salon at Yew Tee. The last shop behind 7-eleven. Look for Cat or Celia. Their price very reasonable.

Extremely disappointed with "Hair Language Salon" at Circular Road. I was very unhappy with their service, not just once but twice.

My hair had ever been damaged by a stylist before. Since then, I've been very cautious in selecting stylist to do the hair rebonding. Through recommendation, we got to know "Hair Language Salon" located at Circular Road. My sis called their lady stylist (the reputed one) to make an apporintment for me on last Friday. She specificially mentioned to the stylist that my hair is very delicate and extremely difficult to tame. Hence would like her to handle the whole rebonding procedure. The stylist gave her word and assured that she will personally see to the rebonding.

On Friday, the lady stylist didn't do the entire rebonding herself. She merely did the 1st step of applying the cream to soften the bond and did 1/4 of the iron clipping procedure. Despite knowing how problematic my hair is, she actually left the rest of the procedures (especially the extremely crucial clipping) to a shampoo boy!?!?!?!?! My heart was in my mouth when the boy did the clipping. I was so scared that he might bend the hair and caused them to split/ break (just like what happened to me a couple of years ago). After the rebonding was done, that lady stylist then asked if I want to trim or cut. I was told that she would charge additional $20 for cutting. So I requested to trim off 2 inch and cut the fringe till eye level. But she merely trim a little of the ends and left the fringe untouched. And guess what? She actually have the cheek to charge that extra $20 by just trimming that little bit of hair! While preparing to make payment the lady stylist commented that I should do treatment sessions to improve the hair texture. She kept on pushing me to purchase either the $888 or $588 package. When I replied that I have no intention to sign on any package, her attitute changed and sounded unhappy.

As the rebonding wasn't done well (there were still obvious curves on the fringe and top part of the head), the lady stylist asked me to go back to the salon again on Monday at 6:30pm for touch-up. When I went to the salon as per the appointment, she wasn't there. I was led to a seat, thereafter the shampoo boy flipped through my hair and commented something to a male stylist. The male stylist then came over and tagged at my hair roughly and forcefully. I felt as if I'm a rabbit being pulled from the magician's hat.

My hair was only being attended to 30mins from the time I arrived at the salon. And again, the shampoo boy was the only one who attended to me. This time it was even worse, the whole rebonding process was done by the shampoo boy. Initially I thought that lady stylist was not around. But when I went for the first round of washing, I saw her sitting comfortably at the cashier area doing nothing. Since my appointment is with her, shouldn't she be the one who should be taking care of my hair?????? And throughout my stay at the salon, she didn't even came close to me. She even went home before my hair rebonding was completed?!?!?!?! She was totally unprofessional.

Other service from this salon sucks as well. The back of my shirt was wet when they washed my hair. Throughout my 3hrs stay at the salon, nobody asked if I needed a drink. And there was this constant fear of being disfigured when the shampoo boy unknowingly held the hot iron closed to my face when he was combing/ separating the hair. When I requested the other male stylist to trim my hair further, (because that lady stylist didn't trim enough during the last visit) he did it with this reluctant look on his face.

Given such shoddy attitude and service, I would never return to this salon again.

i am the most unlucky one! i went to Hair De Exchange as recommended here for hair color & cut. I am totally not satisfied with my hair color, it doesnt seem highlight to me, more like whole hair color. & the worst is my hair is ALOT more SHORTER! i told her i want to keep my hair length. i believe she cut more than 3inches! really not acceptable, & she can still tell me, she kept my length...& i dont understand, she cut my hair 1st before color. After color, cut my hair again. shouldnt she cut later after color? i personally also do not like my haircut as well, i really need to go back to my previous stylist to save my hair. i kept my hair for few years to achieve this length and now i cant have it back in short time. feel like crying...

Hi ladies, I just had my wedding in May 09 and would like to highly recommend the stylist who did my hair, Perry TJ. He came early in the morning to do my hair (very punctual) and spent hours doing up multiple hairstyles for me for both the morning tea ceremony and hotel dinner. Best of all, he did not charge me on a per hour basis and will stay for hours just to perfect my hair. He's a real perfectionist. I was told he trained under the legendary Mr Vidal Sassoon himself in London.

Anyway, Perry just opened a hair salon called Ooosh! at Delfi Orchard Level 1 next to Renee L bridal boutique. I went in there last week to recolour my hair (love how it looks now!) and saw Renee L herself getting her hair styled for a gala dinner! The fact that the Queen of bridal couture patronizes Ooosh! speaks volumes about this salon's capabilities. Anyway, they're having a 50% discount for all Ooosh Facebook fans until 15 Dec so just have to print the voucher (Link: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Singapore/Ooosh/162354346680), show it at the salon and you'll get the 50% discount.

I only paid $200 for a colour and cut (and I hav very long hair) - can u believe it? At a high-end salon some more... The salon is newly opened though so be prepared for some teething issues like the credit card system wasn't running when I was there so I had to pay with cash. Other than that, i was super pleased with the standard of excellence.

Hope this info helps you gals to nail the perfect stylist and hair-do for ur wedding! Good luck!

Hihi ladies out there..just to share...

Recently have just change my hair stylist, from Babara frm Hair De Exchange to Romeo(a freelance hair stylist who formally own his own salons @ city link and wrk in reknowned salons). He provide wedding hair service too!! He did a awesome job on my rebonding though the price is abit steep. Considering my hair is thick and long, i paid $300 for cut/treatment/rebond.

He is very professional compared to Babara. He will do every single step from the start to the end and even hair wash sometime.

Do check him out!!!

Strictly by appointments only.

Romeo - 8233 2496

Been going to NK Hairworks at AnchorPoint (oppposite IKEA) to get my haircut by Lily. I don't use the other hairstylists, only her. She's been cutting my hair for the last 5 years. No complaints

But make your appointment in advance or you may not get her.

Hi Ladies,

Just wanna share with you my experience.... yesterday I have brought my fiance to this hair salon which is open by my hairstylist, Jeffrey who used to work in Far East/Jurong West. Very satisfied with my the color he dyed for me & also the hair cut he did for my fiance. He's very sharp and knows what suits you best.
Most important, he does not hardsell and charge reasonably.

Shop Name: Hair Alley
Add: Blk 466 Clementi Ave 3 #01-185 (along side the OCBC Bank)

Ladies who tried Babara, u r most welcome!!! But I got better reccomendation! Romeo...he is my cousin fren who used to wrk in Reds/ Kimage / Jean Yip n once own his own salon! He is currently doin freelancing till he found his idea shop.

His charges r higher but he is more professional than Babara and most imptly is he dun make his client wait n everything will be done by himself! No assistant will touch ur hair other than hair wash n blow dry...let me know if u r interested to try. His current freelancing salon is located at AMK central Trust Salon. Strictly by appointment!

Eden Salon above Cold Storage Jelita at Holland area is great.
The lady owner Beverly works alone and takes one client at a time and she can work round your hours.
Reasonable and yet classy.

been to far east once for a hair cut.. i requested for 1.5 inches to be taken off and the idiot took 5 inches off because he apparently 'didn't cut the hair line well enough' and also remarked that i'm 'too short for long hair'. tried to stop him from cutting but he just snipped the hair off. i'm 1.6m tall so that's bullcrap seeing as he's fat and short himself. definitely wouldn't recommend far east.

you should try jean yip at jurong point as their stylists are friendly and take the time to make you comfortable. you will be able to consult your shade of blond preference there =) moreover, if you wish to add highlights, the stylists there will take their time to ensure that the highlights blend into your hair color as well as possible to show off your dye to the best possible advantage. hope this piece of info helps. good luck!!

I have been going to Base Station (Tampines Isetan) and wanted to try somewhere else. I have done perms and rebondings at Base Station and not that they are no good but they charge quite expensively. Expensive and still some times got a bit of dissatisfaction here and there like certain part of my hair not straightened properly and a portion of my hair got fried at the ends when they permed it. And usually I paid around $300 and my hair hasn't touch my braline yet.

So if you know of any good salons in the East, please kindly share, many thanks!!

Hi Ladies, just did a cut, perm & color at THE Hair DRESSING. I'm very happy with my perm as its big wave n not those small maggie mee curl. My hair doesn't takes it color easily but my stylist, Ivan, know what to do w it so that it is evenly colored. ;)

Ivan used to rebond my hair n I finally decided to perm it. He had suggested on a few occasion that I would look great in perm. He really give honest opinion. And I really love my current hairstyle!!!

Hi everyone I would like to warn all of u about Formula cut at far east plaza. The director hairstylist is called William. He is arrogant and impatient! He does not listen to my request as I am very particular with perm hair. And guess what I step put of the shop looking like a poodle! I had wanted soft curls and had wanted to explain myself clearly but I was cut off and was told to listen to professional advice (refering to himself) and I end up having very tight Maggie mee curls. Immediately when I step out of the shop I went to the toilet and cry! Pls warn ur friends about this idiotic hair salon and stylist. Hope u all wun end up my fate! Btw my hair is all damaged and my PS is in August
