Any comments on OM furniture?

they are quite ok with the L shaped which i saw but I did not get it cus the colurs offered not so good. However, their delivery takes forever as i got my table from them.
luckily, their delivery staff very polite and I am quite appeased.

Hi everyone.
I have also got a package from OM. Their furniture looks nice and I believe quality is ok. For the sofa, we initially opted for the Carlton L-shape but realised that it's a bit too big for our hall. We are now changing to the Poli L-shape which is stuffed with a mixed of foam and feathers. Price difference is negligible. The other stuff we have chosen are the Angela Bed with 2 low bedside tables, the extendable Mayor dining table with 6 white dining chairs, a side-table, a coffee table and a TV console.

Hi aeebee, i also ordered the carlton L-shaped sofa, which i found its too big for my hall too. I am also thinking of changing but the problem is i order mine more than a month ago, thus not sure if they would allow me to change. Did you recently made your order?

Look for william (store manager-can chiam shiong).
Joo seng showroom quite nice but watch it, the sales lady very aggresive to push sale and she's the follow U everywhere kind. makes me very uncomfortable.

Carlton is actually nice but just too BIG. I just paid my downpayment middle of last month. Collecting furniture only in Oct/Nov. So no problem for me to swop around stuff. What else did you get?

when are you expecting the furniture? If it's not in a hurry, even if you have paid in full, there should not be a problem in swopping items. Of course, you cannot expect to get any refund if the new item you wanna exchange for the old is cheaper. If the new item is more expensive, then it all depends on your bargaining power and the difference in cost between the old and newly selected item. I traded in my armchair to off-set the extra cost of the L-shape sofa. In the end, I'm paying $4300 nett. I bargained for a cute ottoman FOC. If you've been to their showroom, you would have seen the lime-green or orange bone-shape ottoman. It retails at $111, so not too bad a deal after all
They also promised additional discounts if I got their wardrobes... 25% or 30%, can't quite remember. No use to me though cos I'm definitely getting carpentry work done for wardrobes.

the promotion package includes sofa, coffee table, side table, queen size bed and two side tables, dinning table with 6 chairs. As I don't need the queen size bed and the two bedside tables, i exchange for the more expensive dinning chairs and top up abt S$300 for the extra sofa covers. i think the om website is at http://www.om-home.com

hi Danny, sorry misrep there. the package is at $4288 for the package. I paid extra S$350 for the covers. so total paid was about S$4.6k+.
my friend got similar package for S$5K+ two years back and according to them the sofa are quite good, don't sink in even after two year, so there you go.

Do you think that it'll be cheaper to get a set of cushion covers done outside? I was tempted to get an extra set from OM too. More convenient and no worries about whether it'll fit nicely or not. Consulted my mum who said that you can definitely get it cheaper and no worries about quality and fit. They will customise it to your sofa set or you can bring down the original and they will tailor it according to that dimension. Anyways, will probably get one middleo of next year when it's almost time to change

so everything is as per their package except for the queen size bed and 2 bedside tables. Do u have to take everything they suggested (Balestro dining table, Martina sideboard, Flex armchair, Graves coffee table and Astor side table -- taken from their website)? Or are you free to pick and choose what you want? Which dining chair did u opt for?

actually my doesn't include the Flex armchair. I discussed with the manager and he advise what i can change so that the package price will stay at about the same. I was served by Micheal who is now at IMM. Actually, all the managers are quite friendly. can discuss with them on what you like.

be careful of the delivery date if you have a deadline to meet. they take 8-10 weeks to process the making of the furniture.
am still waiting for my dining table.
However, I am pleased as I have gotten my bed and my chairs.

Thanks crapster for the warning regarding delivery. But if I am not wrong, the DBS 15% discount is only for regularly-prized items. That's what it says in small print on the DBS website. That means this special discount does not apply for those who are getting the $4288 package. Anybody want to comment on that? If I'm wrong and the discount does alsp apply to the OM package, then I'll raise hell with Michael

Basically, the 15% dun really apply.
they always say only for regular items.
I have raise the issue to them before.
My next question is that most of their items are always on "sale" (not that it is cheaper), so no one will ever be able to utilise the 15% discount.

I have a booked a Anteo Sofa set from OM but would like to let go of it as I have set my sight on another sofa set. The current price for Anteo is $1850, but I got it at a 20% discount of $1480. I have not decided on the fabric and delivery date, so the buyer can decide on these.

Hi blessed, Michael from OM at IMM served me. His customer service is fantastic! For the discount, he told me only applies to bed and dining set. I highly recommended him if you want to get furniture from OM... he's got alot of patience... tried different chairs/ different colors for us to see which matches the dining table best...

does anyone know the quality of their products there? apparently i heard that their products are either from taiwan or italy... the quality looks good but wld like to hear more comments on them...
