I have been there a few times. Found Karen quite friendly but the prices of the products and treatments a tad expensive.

i do not think they hard sell. if you say no, she will not pester you to buy. But personally, i think that there is still subtle pressure to buy and I ended up buying a few products which are really expensive, compared to the salon that I am frequenting now. BUt maybe this varies from person to person. why don't you give it a try if you are interested?

I'm with Devotion and Karen is very friendly. She will not forced u to buy or sign up any packages. Perhaps you can make an appointment with her and go for a trial facial before you decide (this is what I did). I can see improvement in my face and back after going thru' my facials and back treatment.

My skin condition was very bad so she recommended me the $140 one. It ex but good result. There is cheaper one. Make an appt with her. She will give a detail consulation in regards with your skin condition and tailor the facial treatment according to your needs. As for me my face got lot of improve but until today I still stick with the $140 one. Just to pamper myself.
As for her products depend on what you purchase and yr needs. Her facial cleanser can last me about two months plus. Sometime I used it up to three times a day. It cost $52 per bottle. If I did not remember wrongly.

My wedding just passed in end October. I had pimples/acne on my cheeks that always seemed to recur for a few months. I never went for regular facials before but got desperate and sought for help sometime in end May...which was about 3 months before my PS and 5 mths before my AD.
Because it was only about 3 mths before my PS, i signed up for the $140 treatments and went for pretty regular/intensive sessions. My skin cleared up and improved very significantly, pretty much in time for my PS. By the time my AD came, everybody commented on how radiant i looked.
I also signed up for her bacial (i have acne scars on my back) and it really did improve significantly as well. I wished that i have gone earlier...because the scars take a longer time to fade.
But, no complaints...so long as it did improve.
Anyway, even after my wedding, i am definitely going back to Karen/Devotion because of the excellent service she offers. Karen is friendly and always customise your treatments according to your needs each time. What i also like is she is not pushy as well....what i hate about the other salons i have been.
Lisa, i am not sure why your friend had an acne breakout after the treatments, because i had no problems right from the beginning. Maybe she shd go back and talk to Karen so that the root cause can be found. Anyway, i hope everything will turn out well for your friend. All the best!

I was in the suitation of Aleixis. Two months before PS and four months before AD. I also took up the package same as her. The result was very good. Until today I still go back for my regular facial. Your friend should go back and let Karen take look at her condition and see what Karen can help.

I've changed my facial place recently to devotion & so far it's been good. I was hesitant at first about changing facial place coz i thought it's risky to try something new so near my PS & AD date but my skin was so bad that i wanted to give it a try. My previous place keeps doing the same stuff though my skin condition changes..so i figured it wont help anyway.

If you are okay with homebased services, you can try my beautican who is located near Aljunied MRT. Her treatment facial are good and prices are reasonable too. Definitely valude for money. ;-)
