Ala carte wedding

Anyone has done ala carte weddings? meaning you find different vendors for different things (e.g own MUA, photography, rental of gowns)? any pros and cons and things to note? am thinking of doing so but would like some advice. thanks!!

things to consider:
1) when is your wedding day?
2) what is your budget?

there are pros & cons to ala-carte wedding
