Morning peeps... so I guess this Fri's outing will not be any smaller compared to the last one! Haha.. This time round maybe we should make it a point to rotate around a bit and not stick to the same cluster ok? Me looking forward to..... eating lotsa seafood!! :D I hope Kushinbo doesn't disappoint...

So eat more la... :p

If not can opt for Sakae Sushi's buffet dinner. About $19 or 20++? Personally I think $40 is ok for a buffet. The only thing is it's usually not worth it for me (and prolly most gals) to eat buffet. Hope they have expensive stuff there. Me not going there to eat chawanmushi or tempura!

No wonder ah siao not joining us. Wahahah....

Ya, it's $39.80++ per head. I dun mind paying if the food & atmosphere's confirmed good. But a bit ex & buffet, meaning I got to fight fork & spoon with others over sashimi ah?

K lah, I go with the majority. Suggested alternatives with similar price range:
- Gyu Kaku or Aburiya (all meat. Latino's diet will go down the drain)
- Hanabi (space constraint though)
- Akashi (also space constraint)
All the good Japanese restaurants are crowded with Japanese!!

Heheh. I suggest. Then I shoot down my own suggestions.

So how har? Pls note tat my suggestions are not cheap either. All in range of abt $50 per pax, depending on wat u order.

Gyu Kaku & Aburiya are bbq with wagyu beef. Think Gyu Kaku is slightly more ex, if I rem correctly.

Forget Hanabi lah. Perpetually crowded. I personally like Akashi at Tanglin SC but the premise is small. Else mebbe can try their bigger outlet at Paragon?

kushinbo's restaurant is small, very cramp inside. big group better to sit outside althu longer walk to buffet table. better to book early.

oh changing venue? ok no problem.

kushinbo's quite good in variety, but unlikely to be able to try everything unless u have a fantastic appetite.

if want pure seafood then Olive Tree at Intercontinental Hotel is ok, but it's really for those hard-core seafood pple cos there's hardly any meat.

else Robertson Quay is a good place for Japanese... too bad my fav restaurant there doesn't have alot of BBQ, but they have Shabu-Shabu buffet, if want BBQ can go for Korean - Bulgogi?

just suggesting... hope u guys have a great meetup!

Laundry, there are tonnes... i normally go to Ai (Blue) with wifey for cold soba, or Shunjuu for yakitori... Aburiya i dun go cos my shirt smells after that... i prefer to have cigarette-smell than bbq meat-smell, hehe. else the others all have pretty decent quality n high in taste. Ai has a goodlooking japanese owner who looks in his mid-30s...

wah liew laundry...

ur suggestions are not cheap! haha... they are not 50 per head at all!

last time I ate at abu and gyugaku... almost touch 100 per pax if I'm not wrong...

but not sure if got order sake or not...

People, I have decided. We are going to Ai. Got goodlooking japanese owner leh. Ehehhe...

Powder, sit outside lor. I like meat, meat & more meat. I carnivorous.

Bedok, go for sets lah. U ordered ala carte izit? 4 of us chalked up a bill of about $200 at Aburiya. Tat's with sake. Gyu Kaku was abt $70 per head, I think. I haven't even contemplated Shiro at Greenwood hor... Inagiku sucks, by the way.

haha... under my Regulations for organizing meetups, Rule number 4 is - Never Organize Dinners! organize coffee (or tea), and everyone settle their quick chicken rice meal/sandwiches before coming for coffee... if mini-cliques of 2-3 wanna meet for lunch first, then it's upto them...

Hihi... just came back from Akashi at Vivo for lunch

My contractors always treat me to good food! BTW, another great restaurant is Nogawa.

Ya I agree with powder that it's better to organise post dinner drinks than a dinner itself unless the group is small... cos hard to coordinate. But still, we din do too bad for the last outing la. I'm fine with anywhere so long as it's accessible by MRT.

powder, I love Olive Tree! But haven't been there for a couple of yrs liao. Used to be favourite restaurant for anniv and V day.

Else we can go purely for seafood. I know that Palm Beach at one fullerton sometimes has promo like $50 off for $150 bill or something like that.
