Hi Destiny

Mine experience with A&D doesn't seems to be so pleased and happy. basically i am having a very bad experience with them cos b4 signing up with them, they are so gd to u saying this can that can but apparently after u sign with them, they seems to add on lots of things which is beyond what u can imagine! Perhaps is i am unlucky to get that terrible service staff bah. They really give me lots of heart attack everytime. If given a choice again, i think i may not have taken up their contract...sighzz...

Hi,

My house is done up by A & D starting from May 2008 & completed in Aug. My ID is Thomas. Here's my rating on their service & workmanship.

Ideas: 7.5/10
Service: 7/10
Tiling: 6/10
Carpentry: 9/10
Painting: 8/10
Rate of work: Slow (Anyway, I shall give & take since I prefer quality over speed)

Overall, it was a pleasant experience working with Thomas... He has been pretty prompt in his meetup & follow up & he's a very patient person. Just that don't know why during certain stage of the renovation, little work is done.. maybe they are busy..

But still we have to thank Thomas for creating the house that we like & in accordance to our fengshui master (color, area etc). We went to A&D with absolutely no idea how the house will look like..

Anyway, some pictures for your viewing pleasure. We are really pleased with their carpentry... : )

my id is Thomas too, recently completed with some minor outstanding defects which they are in the process of retifying (some of them personally rectified by himself when the workers said it could not be done).. overall the reno process has been pretty smooth but with some delays (which is ok for us since we have some buffer with regard to the deadline), and Thomas took care of most things for us, so the reno turns out to be less stressful than initially expected, esp when i can quite a gan chiong spider at times.. will post my blog here when all the furnitures and furnishings are up =)

I was intro to AD by my fren, will say that AD is good in their service, even post-service suprising. That brother Eddie is in charge of attending to servicing/repairing if you encounter problems. And he is really so attentive and helpful. Really rare to find people so attentive to your needs after FULL money is paid. Really good service!

But I must warn all forum members here. If AD ever intro a lady who sells curtain to you, she is called Jane. DON'T EVER EVER accept her service! She is realy terrible. I paid the money to her and their men came to install the curtains. But they didn't bring the curtain rope (I requested for the same cloth as my curtain) with them, and they asked me to contact Jane directly. I then called Jane, and she said she need to ask the supplier (who is in overseas) to sew the curtain again as they must have miss out. And each time, I call her to chase for the items, she always come up with lousy excuse tat is not ready. And you know what, I waited for more than 2 months for that stupid miserable curtain rope from her. She is really terrible in her service. Moreover, I stupidly buy from her withoput checking with other shops, and realize she overcharge as compare to the rest.

Mine was a resale flat, was reno by A&D in Dec 2007 and completed in Feb 2008. There was some delay then due to the carpentry works which we can accept cos we have some buffer n not in hurry to shift in. During then, their business was really very good, hence got to wait for long to get carpentry done. Other parts of reno like tiles, electrical works etc, all ok and done fast.

Generally experiences with them was good except for one thing, the plumber. If I'm not wrong, they engaged freelance contractor to do it, as such, the work was terrible. My hubby and I were experienced in this aspect, hence we did not discover some of the poor work done by the plumber except to notice some leak of water into the cabinet for the toilet basin, the toilet not installed well, cos got some leaking of water as well, but we fixed this ourselves. So not so bad.

Oh we did feedback to A&D regarding this, so hopefully they take note of it and won't engage this plumber anymore.

I don't know the plumber name but he is a tall guy, who only speaks English. The funny thing is he came to work on our house during Sat or Sun only which is why my hubby and i feel that he is freelance kind.

I would recommend Johnny. His after-sales service is very good. I spent quite a lot on my house, hmm..50K for a 5BR, did almost everything except flooring. I hacked both bedrooms to combine into a bigger room with a little walk in wardrobe.

Re-tile the kitchen and 2 bathrooms, relocate my storeroom for my hubby's fishtank, did a vivo city wave in the living room...all i could say is i am happy with his design.

So, do consider Johnny if you are looking for an ID

Hi chsh16, wynn, sorry, been busy with work.... Just the reno pkg close to $35K; mine a std 4rm. ID said could not share quote cos he got give special rate for some items...Again it depends on the material, design, dimension, etc. Not all IDs will propose the std pkg; we might need them +/-; so do yr homework to list out what u & yr family wants & future needs & how much $ u want to spend

I met up with my ID many times b4 got the keys, but ended up I chgd my mind on many designs, dimensions, & layout plannings after got the keys and opened my door. There's beam, box up, etc that 'did not' appear in the std HDB floor plan and I konw what I like & dislike. I enjoyed the processes of creating my new home from mid Feb till end July. The part I hated most = clean-up, shifting-packing/unpacking. That time my ID was not on busy schedule and being very accomodative, patient, and negotiable. I heard he is very busy now and has appointed his salesman to take care new project... Haven't talked to him for quite some time though..BTW are u all having the same ID as mine?
Happy & smooth renovation for you all

Just now Raymond lee from A & D came to take a look. I am still waiting for his quote. Sorry but i feel he is really not interested as i have a small budget of 10k only to do some touch ups here and there on my existing flat. He really looks like he wants to sleep... attitude not fantastic like other IDs who came to see... well, let's see his quote before i judge. Anyone use him before?

no, they don't charge fees.. it's their service usually.. anyway, in the end, i am my own ID. I got a painter, buy aricons, get different people to do everything individually... fnially over.

coz i saw from renotalk saying arts and design is good but i am not sure does it refers to A&D..tats y need to know the full name of A&D

I personally do not like Alvin Tee. He did not get back on my quote despite sending him an sms. Maybe he feel that my $30k does not attract him!
