i need some advice here... i want to plan something nice for my HTB this year-end. we are both saving up for our marriage and flat next year so won't be able to spend lavishly on restuarants, expensive gifts etc. but i still want to make it special because he has been awfully sweet to me the past 3.5 years we've been together and in the past, celebration of any "big days" are all planned by him. any ideas to share?

ladies, please share what you've done for your hubby / bf. and guys, tell me what you'd expect, or what your wife / gf has done for you.

TIA!

Buy Xmas fruit cake and wine from supermarket.

Cook your own pasta or western food. Can just buy marinated ones and cook yourself. Or simply tapao from hawker centre and transfer to nice plates at home. Put on nice table cloth and wine glass for the wine or non-alcoholic drinks if you do not take alcohol.

Or simply order a small Xmas platter from Giant. Those from Giant are cheaper. They have this platter which consists of a small log cake, roast chicken, ham and some sausages I think, for just $45. I don't think the 2 of you finish all at one go so can even keep for next meal.

ohh.. didn't think of buying set from Giant! sounds good, but dunno if can finish so much food or not. i was toying with the idea of a picnic (west coast?) if weather is good. if not, then it will be some other indoor place. we are not living together yet so cannot do it at our place 'cos family all around. hee hee!

my budget is $100 for 2.

Why not whip up some special dishes, bake a turkey and had candle light dinner at home? Its cost saving and best of all, you dont need to squeeze yourself in the crowded xmas eve.

Cable Car dining makes me puke....firstly it is more than $150 for 2 pax on a normal occasion, secondly, the air circulation in the cable car is no good, it is rather stuffy and hot...
thirdly, the cable car is abit shaky when u are eating, cause nauseau to some thou.

haha! that must be super un-romantic. when was the last time you had the sky dining?

I'm thinking of going to this place called "My Secret Garden". the place looks very cozy. menu quite interesting also. maybe you and your HTB can also go there for a nice lunch/dinner. check out:

i've tried my secret garden before but that was more than 3 years ago - don't know if it's any good now ..

you can try il lido, au petit salut for fine dining experience and halia for the atmosphere .. dinner might burst your bank but if you go for lunch, should be ok.
