Actually I beg to differ that JB Bridal Shops are overpriced and overrated as compared to those in Singapore's. There are definitely pros and cons and to each of it's own :) u gotta pay for many other extra expenses for overseas photoshoot too so it's something that u ought to consider carefully :)

Yeah I agree w u on paying for other extra expenses for overseas photoshoot. I treated it as holiday cum photoshoot so didn't feel the pinch except for paying for the package. At the end of the day u get the quality u pay for ;) Which in my case I'm 101% Happy and satisfied with.

I have nth against bridal studios in JB. Idk y almost all the brides that I know did their photoshoot w Venus. Their photos are def nice. But due to their popularity, I noticed a similarity in their poses, gowns/suits, indoor and outdoor photoshoot locations among the brides I know.

As for me my photoshoot was w a Masters Photography Association's photographer. And he was not attached to any bridal studios. Thus I was able to escape from the exorbitant prices that bridal studios usually like to mark-up. Haha. That's just my opinion and experience. Cheers!

So Where did u do ur photoshoot? :)

Yeah I agree with you. As long as you find it worthwhile I think that's what matters most. I guess each photographer has his/her personal style so perhaps that's why the photos may look rather similar, be it local or overseas shoot. I think actual day photography is very important so gotta make a wise choice in choosing the AD photographer :)

I signed up Dawn's Wedding. Still deciding on which photographer to engage for AD haha *headache* care to share your photographer's contact? Hehe thanks!

Some venues may not have the 2016 wedding packages ready yet. Just a rough gauge, I think it's abt 5% increment in wedding banquet price year on year. Mine's a wedding lunch, so I only have the 2015 lunch banquet package for your reference if u don't mind :)

Some hotels are open for 2016 bookings. You can try MBS, Pan Pacific, Novotel and Hotel Fort Canning.. These are the few that I know that is opened.

You can send some enquiry emails to the hotels and ask whether they are open for booking.. but there are some who might turn you down..

There was a hotel which I signed up for a wedding show and called me 2 days before to tell me whether they can cancel my registration to the show because my wedding day was not in 2015.. so that hotel has been strike off my list due to the bad impression. No other hotel wedding shows has had such issues even if they were not opened. They still entertained and gave a rough guide to the package as reference.

Omg, that is really bad! Mind sharing which hotel was that? This kind of hotel I also want to black list.

I have heard of "eager" hotel coordinators who promised many extra perks to couples but in the end can't fulfill the deal. So it will be wise to do some research on the venues that you are keen on, for e.g. the confirmed wedding package perks the venue offers, and decide from there :)

They will normally write down in black and white what you have requested before you sign off the deposit. So if what they promise you is not there.. I think you shouldn't sign it off.. then they will either have no choice to add it in or you would need to find another hotel.
If they did write it in the draft, better ensure its also in the actual contract before you sign and return it to them also.

But sometimes it's also not just the perks but the planner and the service after that too..

Yeah sad to say some planners may just promise many things because they wanna close the deal and when it comes to signing they can't fulfill what they promised. Good to be aware of such things and read through the contract thoroughly before signing :)

Hi Ladies! I'm at 2016 BTB. Recently made my booking for Fullerton and BS.
Some hotels allow earlier bookings but they will let you know that there is an increase in the rates & the estimated increase in prices. My suggestion is to inquire and check out the place first, so once you have the auspicious date, you can make your booking soonest.

I had to postpone my wedding as most of the venues we wanted was booked for Dec 2015 as we wanted to follow the auspicious dates.

Dear ladies, started a fb grp for 2015/2016 brides.. For easier sharing and discussions! Anyone keen to join?

Last time I checked wth the geomancer, he told us that once we confirmed our date he will calculate.. but he will make sure that it's as close to the wedding day as possible due to the bed position and stuff..

for mine is like 12days apart, my only worried is that will the bedsheet get dusty? will there be ants crawling over those dry foods n orange? n when does the table light got to b on? 1 day before or right after an chuang?

I'm not too sure about the ants and the light part. did your geomancer say anything? another option is you can go to those stores selling wedding stuff in Chinatown and they can give you more information. :)

nah, she didnt mention anything, she only gave us the dates and im surprise that GDL date is 5days apart to AD....my future mil will call to geomancer to do a check again

I think GDL being 5 days from wedding day is alright. I had seem some of my friends also doing their GDL very near to their weddings.. but I think there are a few dates to choose from.. :)

i rather an chuang date is nearer to AD,ahahaha... not sure is it because of the person's zodiac that is doing the an chuang for us that makes the date so early....

Am a 2016 bride too!

Just about to start planning so as to have the figures for some financial planning too.

Planning to go for some bridal studio hunting tomorrow with my htb see see look look.

However have not decided on a date because I think it's still early to calculate according to the Tong Shu. Will seek advise from the experts after CNY for dates.

Congrats both! My fiance and I just "decided" on the date FINALLY. In Jan too!
But haven't decide on venue yet, hope there are still available dates from the hotel!

Where did you all book? :)

We decided on Rendezvous Hotel in the end! Because we have quite a small wedding, the place is perfect for us.. :)
Which venues are you thinking of? My fiance and I have viewed quite a few prior to this!
