@StrawberrieShortie @DJ2016 can email 1 per night. like email A on mon and B on Tues. So if weds both A and B reply, then can tell A you thought no response from him then you managed to engage another one alr? Or else sometimes, some JP do take very long to reply. Some don't even bother to reply ):

woots! i just caught up on the postings and actually all the may BTB are looking at different may dates! my AD is 7 May :)
lookin for JPs is unexpectedly tough.. i din try simon sim coz my family is buddhist..
hope everyone can secure one soon!

@caren_c i also got a soft bookin from one of the JP but same as you, i dont feel very secure.. though of coz even if we get solid confirmation now, things could still change along the way due to unforeseen circumstances..
hmmm..

Mine is 2 Oct 2016.. I don't even know whether to look for Jp cos I heard some of them don't take booking till 3 -6 months before booking..

@twinklez yes! I worried too but I guess we don't have a choice but to just wait til it's closer to May 2016 so we can further confirm w our JP. Really hope our JP won't cancel out on us on the last min or else... we will be at a total loss. When will you start to confirm with them? Mine mentioned to confirm with him in Nov. Yours?

@klijing_sg Hi! Yup but I guess some of them can perform soft booking like a tentative one.

@StrawberrieShortie maybe you wna let him know that your family isn't Christian? But if your family is okay if he mentions about Christianity, then it's cool

I didn't approach him as well, because both my fiance and my family are Buddhist. :)

What are some of the reasons that they reject?

@averly you cab start to look around for a suitable JP. They might not allow you to confirm as it is still early but they will likely do a soft booking for you.
Some of the reasons I received are license expired, schedules clashed, etc.

There's Z wedding showcase last & this weekend + Feline Wedding open house, anyone went/going? :)

Plus, there will be Love Affairs @ Vivocity on 2-5 July. All btbs who have yet to source for your bridal studio, can take note. :D

I was planning to book bridal studio only next yr since my wedding is in Oct 2016. Then i can decide based on the gowns that they are offering in the actual yr hahah. Will it be too late to only book early next yr? HTB and i went to the last BOWS event. Though the gowns of Z wedding are really exquisite.. but i find them a tad too pushy.. n 1 taiwanese lady actually put down our PreWedding studio - Bluebay.. which i dont quite like it...

@eupgenie maybe you can start sourcing for it close to this year end? Then maybe ask the boutiques if they are gg to bring in new gowns collections? :)

i heard alot of mixed reviews about z wedding - mostly the price & attitude of the service staff. I hope i will be pleasantly surprised! z wedding will be the first boutique that im paying a visit to. hope it starts off right.

Based on my colleague, z wedding is okay until u go select photo.. The will stress u to buy extra.. She spend $3.5k additional for photos..

I think you should start locking your bridal studio as you will need time to start trying and see which gown you want to book, have a pre make up trial, and more importantly, pre-wedding photoshoot and editing of the photos which wwill take some time as well.


My wedding is in May and they suggested for me to take my pre-wedding photo shoot in December so they have some time to do the editing. I think you can go to Tanjong Pagar to look around and have a sensing of their service and costs and shortlist the ones that you feel comfortable with. I signed mine with Yvonne creative. They were really nice, they asked my needs and when I told them I wanted to see their dress, they showed me all the gowns they have and even had someone to help me with trying of the dresses. Their service was soo good, even though my bestie and I had no intentions of signing initially, we went ahead to sign with them ;) My bestie’s wedding is also Oct 2016.

I just am not very impressed with how the lady puts down other boutiques. Its like the rest are so inferior compared to theirs..

Oh i have signed up for prewedding shoot with Bluebay already. Will be taking our prewedding shoot in Nov this yr haha. Almost a yr before our wedding hahha. I feel like if i book the bridal studio for my AD too early.. eventually all the designs/gowns will be very different from next yr too. What i like this yr will b considered old n might nt be available next yr too. Thats y i sorta decide to only select next yr haha! * Procrastination *

@eupgenie Ehh – So bluebay doesn’t include your actual day gowns etc too? Actually, you can book your bridal studio in advance, but don’t have to confirm all the gowns.. depending on the bridal studio.. for Yvonne, I can look for gowns in Aug, and they said if I don’t see anything I like, there are new gowns coming in Oct and Jan as well... so I am reassured at least if I don’t see anything I like, I can still wait, in time for my May wedding.. i can also customize the gown in the sense like if I feel its too plain, I can add some shimmer veil etc at no additional cost…


if suay suay nothing I really like, I still have time to do MTM with them.. the top up is not a lot too.. I think unless you are choosing those feather etc gowns, gowns are usually straight forward in terms of cutting and material . look for photos with the kind of cutting you like and flatters your shape, then ask the bridal studio to show you what they have..

@caren_c The first time i tried, i went to the AMK outlet.. that was where i signed the package after trying like 5 dresses. lol. They were so patient to entertain me, when I havent even signed any package with them... then last week i was so excited to see more gowns, i went to the Tanjong Pagar outlet. I like the AMK outlet more cause it looks like some posh boutique studio you see on those Amercian Wedding TV shows.i think cause they just recently opened. In terms of gowns range, there is more as well... What i liked is that the price i pay, it's not like limited to any racks to choose from etc..

my friend's colleague had the experience when she signed at the roadshow (not gonna say the company here) they said verbally no limit on range.. when she went down to choose, she could only choose from a certain rack, and the rack was like all 1970s big heavy looking gowns.. lol! she went to CASE, but didn't win lah.. cause it was only a verbal agreement.. in the end she just went to sign another package...
