@mugwithlid our cards were provided for and we went to T Dragon to get them printed. there are options to print on the card itself or print on inserts and you are able to choose the kind of print you want, gold foil hot stamping or gold ink printing. we chose hot stamping on the card as it saves the trouble of having to secure the inserts onto the cards. it worked out to be SGD240 for 350 cards which made printing in JB (eg. RM138 for 50 cards) not exactly cheaper, unless the price quoted is with cards. =)

Thanks @eunicechee and @babyger07 . I have to collect the cards from the hotel which means I have to carry the inserts to the printing company. HTB says can go to any printing shop. -_-
Is this true? Cos I understand that we need special printer for certain printing.
Do we have to provide the layout and words for them to print for us or is there a template?

your hotel coordinator will have a template, you can request a copy from them.

the staff at the printing company we went to was helpful and knowledgeable, helped us a lot on the wordings for the chinese printing and they are able to advise the layout based on the cards you have. they will send you a draft via email for proof read and confirmation before printing. i am not sure if it is special printer, but i believe all printers can do the same for you, just a matter of cost.

for the collection of cards, we did not have to do a double job as the printer was the provider of cards for our venue. we went down to the printing company, chose our card design, print method and settled the layout at one go. took 2 weeks for the cards to be ready and we did a self collection.

Hi all, I'm a March 2014 BTB too

Just a quick question, do we need to give tips/angpao to MUA (including celebrity MUA), photographers, florist, wedding gown designer, banquet manager, etc?
If yes, how much would that be? (range or %)

I'm doing my budget, so I'd like to know what are the expenses I need to be aware of.

TIA
when my cousin got married last year she give $28 to all her helpers eg bro & jie mei. Cos her elderly told her not to be stingy to those who had help, and also to get good blessing "fu qi" She was quite please with her mk up artist & photographer therefore she gave more, I think like $88 & $68. But I think it up to individual as long as a lucky no.

$28 is a lot? I did jiemei for a friend before and emcee for another, if I remembered correctly both gave me abt $50-$60.. so I thought that's the market rate.

I'll be getting married in March and will need to rely on my jiemeis a lot for the whole day's programme.. so I will definitely give more than $50 too...

However, to be fair, I only have 3 jiemeis, including my sis. If you have like 10 jiemeis, which means there are many who doesn't do much, then I think $28 is reasonable.

Anyone doing ROM & AD for lunch? Not sure is it very rush?
Hi, i did my ROM and lunch at Amara Sanctuary...
Amara Sanctuary has nice food and nice ambiance (glass dome).

My photographer was from Portrait Gallery. http://www.portraitgallery.com.sg/
You can also check out Black Box Photography. http://www.blackboxphoto.net/Weddings/weddings_packages.htm

Overall both photographers are GOOD! If you like still shots, go for Portrait Gallery... If you like candid go for Black Box... just a suggestion. ;)
Have fun !!!!
