zhux2: I'm taking Cinnamon.

Free flow of beer usually comes with their promo so no issues. Only thing is no free flow wine, we asked before.

clint: thanks...I'm more tired than excited to be honest. Nvr knew getting married got so many things to do...weekends after weekends all burnt

I think it's very impt if u are flexible with wedding dates cos there can be better promotions later on but ur date may not be available anymore. For me, the date's more impt den e perks because I only want my date =) So i agree with clint to get ur dates confirmed first =)

congrats Thomas =) I guess the preparations are just part of the wedding processes, weekends are burnt but im sure u must be happy preparing it tgt with ur wife =)

Pisci11a, thanks!

Pinkglove, thanks! Actually I still prefer the yellow gold but fiancé prefer the white gold.. Since I chose the design I shall let him decide the color.. Must be fair.. Though the white gold rings cost more..

Morning ladies!!

Clint, I got the love rings from Cartier..
happy.gif
mine is the mini love and fiance's a normal love..

Pinkglove, ya.. Left with my gowns and all will be settled! I still gotta engrave the rings.. The Cartier sales was good enough to extend the 3 months so we have more time to think of what we wanna engrave.. She also gave us the ring box which can hold 2 rings other than the individual ring holder.. Thumbs up for their excellent service!

I went to Bows today but was unexpectedly saddened by a bad experience that i would like to share:

BAD EXPERIENCE AT BOWS (MY DREAM WEDDING BS)
I had a very bad experience with the above BS, simply to say, i was totally put off with their attitude, stating the below encounter:
- Very pushy
- Over priced package
- Incomprehensive package (especially for AD)
- Overseas package but need to pay your own air tickets, accommodation, transport etc.
- Not my style of photography
- Tried to use alot of sales tactics just to make pple sign (but it din work on us)
- Criticized other BS
- Made remarks like:
@ Couples who go into JB to take wedding package are only taking advantage of the currency exchange, nothing else (meaning to say, Cheapos)
@ Photography in JB BS are of sub-standard and are very fake

Personally, i am very fond of JB's photography style, album layouts and gowns. The only concern i have is only the hassle to travel to and fro. I felt offended when i hear their comments.
After this episode, i left BOWs immediately as i lost all the enthusiasm i went in with. But then, this may only be MY EXPERIENCE. You may beg to differ.

amanda, wah!! maybe is just the sale person you spoke to.. most BS do get very pushy and hard-sell at wedding shows... as i already have signed up for BS, i ignored the BSs

Kass, i went to sign up for NCQ today... there are a quite a few promos going on... including some that are valid for even after BOWS.. I have collected some vouchers.. hee

pinkglove, your trip is in June? I need to settle my gowns starting from July.. think both ROM and AD will have to work at the same time because i suppose AD gown need longer time to do..

Marian, thanks! you reached OZ? hows the weather there?

ladies.. i just returned from BOWS.. tired.. my friend signed up at the first BS she went to... poor thing. spent 1 hour and got psycho.. think the BS is not bad after all.. their photograph done by Chris Ling studio..

hi amanda>> i did go to my dream wedding at their shop, found them "indirectly" pushy as they keep asking what u want to proof that they can provide. also kept pushing for overseas PS, but overall i think they look overfriendly. didn't take them cos' communication breakdown, me and htb can't express ourselves well if we speak entirely in mandarin (so lousy rite =X)and I want MTM gowns, whh they don't have.

cowcow>> photography by Chris Ling Photography/ CL studio? i just found out that they have 2 names, like the shifu and disciple's branch..

hihi,
i have finally cooled my head down after a good night sleep. MDW is the past.I will brace myself to go to JB for a wedding fair next weekend and may probably face "pushy" sales again. =(
If anyone of you has package details of either SG Bridal, Venus or Fables, do let me know. Cos i want to find out more before heading down.
Thanks =)

I haven get my AD yet.. fiance asked why i never bring up the topic during dinner on Thursday.. maybe tomorrow will ask ba..

jOyle, i am not quite sure its Chris Ling Photography or CL Studio.. Chris Ling is at the booth as well.. I even argued with him over my phoitography choice because i didn't know that it's him..

hey ladies,
I'm back from BOWs.. visited all the PG booths, OH and M Hotel booths..

Overall, I'm quite impressed by Rebirth & Edmund Leong.. fiance almost wanted to return to sign up with Edmund after we left.. but told him to hold on first to explore other options..

Besides BOWs, both of us went to OH, GWP & Concorde for site visits.. Thou GWP is nice, but there's no themes for banquet, only white seat covers provided & fiance doesn't like all the mirrors inside the ballroom.. so most prob will not consider tt..

went to BOWS today as well. think I spent about 15mins in total. just went to Pine Cakes and One Eye Click to have a look.

cowcow>> i saw Chris Ling Studio... it's beside Z wedd**g yeah?

Went this afternoon. Going past the bridal studios is like Tanjong Pagar concentrated into an even smaller stretch. HTB was overwhelmed by them. He totally hates the Tanjong Pagar sales tactics.

But we enjoyed exploring the various photographers who were there. We like One Eye Click and Edmund Leong (turned out Edmund and Veron have mutual friends with us), as well as Bryan Jean (though my HTB didn't like his cockiness - "I am one of the youngest master photographers in Sg").

i also dropped by tis afternoon cos was around city area. I went straight to Pine cakes as well.. It's reali like tanjong pagar stretch but they don't really bother us when we signal that we're not interested.. suddenly miss e times when i go boutique shopping..haha..

After that we went Cartier just to take a look and unexpectedly, fiance quite like the classic pink gold ring. I also like rose gold in general..just that I think eternity band looks better with my e-ring instead.
cowcow: The salesman also told me of the price increase next week and suddenly I wonder if i shld buy now if i really wanna get cartier..haha..but it really seems too early lo..and he said even if i go europe, might not have our sizes there cos the ring sizes there are generally bigger. By the way, did u ask if they do replating when there're scratches?

marian/ clint, thank you

everybody been very busy today with wedding shopping..

Pinkglove, paris is now very chinese friendly, cos of china tourists spending power so if you not in a rush, why not try paris first, they may have smaller sizes, not all europeans are big :p ...

clint>> missed out ur msg above. will PM you the contacts when I go dig out my card holder! =)

pinkglove>> love 6-prong design after seeing my cousin's, so altered the design abit. now very popular design is the micropave ard the main diamond and band. but too glam i think.

zhu zhu, forgot to update you before. i got 25% carpark coupons, 80% invite cards as extras. Also if i have a couple of bottles of champange, HL did say she will try to get a waiver.. hee... the rest of the promo, amanda already listed out in the above thread...

have you picked a date yet?

rubbishcow

New Member
pinkglove, actually you can try getting in from Paris instead.. really can be cheaper.. The price increase is tomorrow.. If you want to get the rings locally you will have to buy today..

pinkglove

New Member
cowcow: but the salesman was saying there's usually not many sizes available.. and he says it's 7 march for e price increase, so maybe they decided to postphone the price hike date? hehe..
I tink i'll see how then.. hopefully if i wan get from paris, there'll be available stock! hehe =) By the way, did u ask if they do replating when there're scratches?

Hi girls,
If I haven't got the actual date yet but it's going to be 2nd half of next year, when I go wedding gown shopping, will the bridal studio need the exact date for made to measure gowns?
Thanks.

strikingreality

joy79 >> Bridal shops do not need to know your actual date straightaway. You can sign up with them with an open date first, but do update them once u have finalised a date.

morn girls!

cowcow: Nope.. never ask this also cos just thought about it after im home..hehe.cos was wondering if the colour will come off since i like rose pink rings..hehe..

joy79: don't worry, u dun need to provide e date and usually mtm gowns need ard 4 mths to make =)

morning ladies..

May I ask how did you all managed to get more carpark coupons or waiver of corkage from the hotels? I'm planning to meet up with some hotel co-ordinators soon, so just want to find out how to get more perks out of the package..

rubbishcow

morning ladies!

pinkglove, which ring do you and your fiance fancy? think it will be better that you guys look around first before deciding.. hehe..

pinkglove

New Member
clint: i just ask lo.. haha.. i got a bit more carpark coupons i tink, ard 5% more.

cowcow: we quite fancy e classic ring. n i'm delima between gettin e same ring as my fiance or gg for eternity ring, those with many small diamonds lined together.. cos e eternity ring matches better with my e-ring but i feel like wearin e same ring as my fiance but it prob doesn't look great when worn tgt..how?

im also wondering if it'll be weird if we even get each of our wedding bands from diff places..haha..

morning all
happy.gif

Clint, from what i realised when i was shopping around, you ask for everything you want, for what the hotel can give, they will give. What they cannot give, it will be the same answer even if you ask alot of times....

addtional carpark / invites seem the std. corkage waiver, some give, some will not. So not need to be shy, just ask for everything on your wish list.

prisci11a

New Member
pinkglove, ring no need to be a set. quite a few of my friends have different rings, some from the same shop, some from different places because of design preference and they didn't want to customise.

strikingreality

New Member
Clint >> I agree with what prisci11a says. The coordinators know in advance what they can or cannot give, what's the limit on their end. If they can give, they will usually try to oblige.
happy.gif

The perks given out during the wedding shows can be a rouge gauge to suss out what the hotel can or cannot give.

Which hotels are u going to talk to?
