Hi all,

Tesco at Tebrau got one small shop that selling wedding stuff, but not too many variety coz the branch is more to gift items.

U should go the one at city square, more to wedding stuff.

But got 1 company going to open another outlet at Tesco Tebrau. I find the price better. Their original outlete is at Tebrau Plentong.

Hi jasmine, well like i say different ppl have different experiences or maybe i have higher expectations. Anyway i'm glad you'll find it ok. To be fair, they do have some very nice gowns. I went with Silhouette the Atelier.

Sorry, been busy with work and missing this thread!

Doll: You got 2 wedding gowns from your BS? I was asking my BS about it cos I have MTM WG but I wanna take OTR so thinking of having 2 OTR wedding gowns. 1 more simple one for morning then 1 more grand for night (1st march in). But the BS boss said people only wear 1 wedding gown cos you only get married once. Got such logic meh?!?!

Does any of you girls know about any brides having 2 wedding gowns?!?!?

saggiegirl: Go Korea for honeymoon. I think nicer than Taiwan. But if you go on group tour (which you are likely to due to langugage barrier), bear in mind to extend by another 2 days cos very rushed. Oh yah, don't miss Jeju Island, that's honeymoon island!

Sigh.. Initially I thought I had finally managed to get a JP, and she had committed verbally. Then today, she called and informed me that she has an overseas assignment, and could not solemnize the marriage.. Now, have to start all over again.. Managed to contact another JP who has not turned me down immediately, but he has to check his schedule as he is currently not in Singapore.

Keeping my fingers crossed that he will be available..

yup yup! i had talked to him through phone, he is a very nice person n very reponsible. i email him n next day call him to chk, he was on leave tat day. he return my call within 30min n ask if my timing can be adjust due to his tight schedule. to me he is kind enough to ask before jus reject me directly.

talking about korea, is it difficult to communicate with the locals in English? my htb and i have yet to visit korea and we were thinking of going free and easy for 14 days...pls do recommend some must-visit locations..thank u babes!

yes i m having 2 Wedding Gowns.. but like i said, most BS only rent 1 WG.. if u wan extras, they charge.. really turn off by how BS wanan charge for everything and anything

I am a alacarte bride. NOT with with BS. i buy my own gowns.. if wanna pay 'service charge' (like $300) to rent a extra gown, i might as well BUY one .. =) Hope this helps

Yes yes, me have 2 WG.. one is a simple mermaid gown with a short train for day wear.. and another is a GRAND ballgown with 1.5metre train for banquet march in.. =)

Jane, yr BS said that becos some chinese elders believe wearing 2WG means to marry twice. so if either side parents are pang tang, better let them know in advance. if they are fine, then its ok.

I m now thinking when is a good time to we start asking the guests if they can attend our customary dinner. is it too soon to ask now, some of the closer frens comment they cant confirm now as Dec is too far to commit..!? arhh.. how many month ahead will be good time to start asking?

ur photos so nice nt surprise they show them at the BS right. In fact, ur package sounds more worth it.

I paid 3k for additional photos but nv get back all the softcopies of the rest wor. Then again i took 350+ shots dont think e BS so nice.
My BS once u choosen e photos, even u pay more they also dont let u buy or add anymore.

Ordered GDL cakes from Pine Garden. One down, Cards to be collected on 29th July. GDL on 1st aug. Love the idea of getting these done. Omg.

i did some price survey on 3 shops in chinatown, and 1 in beauty world. If its not too far for uou, the one in Beauty World is selling almost everything cheaper by 2 to 3 bucks, compared to Chinatown...Name of shop is Minah..Its at the 1st floor...very easy to find de...

and, Bliss collections aka blissloft at Pagoda street is having sale on their beddings...40% off all bedsheets. For bridal bedsheets, they come in 3 colours, ir gold, red and cream. Also 40% discount, except for the red de, tat one onli 10% discount. the lady there is willing to give 10% discounts on other stuff like couple towel, bathrobe, cushion covers, etc..

I had a lot of restriction from my HTB side.. Even I need to be back home by 4 pm at my wedding day and cannot go out using wedding gown anymore. (hopefully evening gown can, becoz I haven't asked actually. planning to have a family dinner afterwards and I will wear an evening gown I have bought)

I suggest you asked both your parents &amp; parents-in-law whether you have the Chinese tradition restriction or not.

jasmine ang: yeah quite difficult to communicate with them coz most of them can't speak english tho they understand abit what we talking..the young ones then will know some english..actually for 1st-timers to go korea, better to go with tour 1st.

I have similar experience with you..The JP that I have contacted agreed and ask me to contact him again 1 mth b4 my actual day...worry that he can't make it when near the date...feel like meeting him earlier to sign the consent form.

By signing the consent form, this means that the JP has confirmed to solemnise the wedding?

tink alot of the gals tat print in SG go to T Dragon. tink hotstamping is nt cheap. last yr my sis print abt 400pcs for 200plus. tink goin to 300. if i remember correctly..

hi for my, i went market place for my GDL stuff, actually is a bit difficult to compare prices if you are nt taking the package deal, for me, i choose and pick whatever i wan.
went bliss collections to look at the quilt, the package is excluding fitted sheet, is quite ex if wana buy full set.

which model of slumberland do u recommend?

if you get the golden or cream series, its only 90 for the whole set. For sheets, u can alwaes get plain sheets ma..aniwae on tat dae, juz use the quilt to cover the whole bed lor..

alternatively, theres this beddings shop nxt to this GDL shop at chinatown complex. the shop is juz next to the durian stalls before entrance of CK. the lady has wedding couple bedsheets oso, and they come in red, pink, and peach. Includes even comforter, and was told tat its pure silk, though i didnt touch la...shes selling the set for 150, best price 130. you might wan to try tat instead...

Even if you get e aussino one, for 30plus, it onli includes e bed sheeet, bolster, and 2 pillow cases. Quilt cover is separately sold and tink it cost abt 80plus, if i neva rem wrongly..so more or less oso comes to 100 plus lor...

yup. becoz will b parents miting also. so need to get it done b4 the 7th mth, so can start to prepare for the GDL tings.
if nt wait til after 7th mth will b quite rush lor....

hey all, ended up bought everything in chinatown yesterday...spent more than 2 hours at the shop and $278 for all the things required...saw XKA's info too late...

anyway, cards are collected on sat...now to buy 2 bottles of red wine for GDL...

sis-IL says she will get the bedsheet for us as present so that one we not finding...but we did buy 2 sets during isetan's sale...1 set is reversible with red on 1 side and black on the other...

my uncle passed away on sat...now i have 2 tables to fill...another uncle quite sick...hope he will be well enough to attend my wedding...
