Hi happylife: My FH viewed about 5 to 6 before we decided on PPR. We started looking around in March and our first choice, Orchard Parade Hotel was snatched up. The others were pending and unconfirmed. So we were quite thankful when we finally confirmed our AD Venue!

Me went to visit my first BS today...and can u believe it? My bf and I actually signed on the spot cos the package very comprehensive... Today's their open house..would recommend all those who are still looking for BS to go down to have a look..it's called My Bridal Room and it's located at Tan Quee Lan St...need more info, just feel free to ask me...their service very good..very friendly ppl...=)

jus share with you my BS search process.. i went to tanjong pagar road with my hubby + a friend of mine who's a Sep-05 bride in oct-05. like most of you had experienced, most are hard-sell type.. i'm particularly turned-off by one of the BS sales.. they push u like u owe them liddat.. we started walking from the first unit nearest to the TP mrt.. stopped at almost every BS tat stop us.. were having those "why-not" kinda thinking when we entered the shops.. of course, we mentioned upfront we won't sign on tat day cos we are still sourcing.. my friend gave us alot of pointers like what to look out for and discuss the BS after-sales services with us.. were super tired when we reach Jazreel Low Collections.. they gave us a very comfortable feel tat evening.. i remember they were about to close but they still let me try on few gowns n tell us to go home consider b4 signing any package.. it's totally pressureless!! however, we dun wanna to feel tat they are putting up an act or something, we got on this forum to check on those BS we went and found tat JLC is not too bad.. tat's why we went back 1 month later to sign up.. you may wanna do the same, ie. to bring alot a recently married bride to give u some pointers and do some research before confirming.. hope this help! ^_^

Hi,

Just wanted to check something with you gals...

Do you know the order of how our invitation cards are printed? (i.e. is the groom's name first then the bride?) Also, does this mean that if you have your name displayed in your wedding, it will be your hubby's name first followed by yours?

Over here, it is the bride's name first and just wanted to confirm the order as I am ordering an embosser with our intials on it so wanted to make sure the order was right.

Sorry have been mia...it's the exams season. Just finished marking four classes of essays. National exam starts next Wed...Gonna be busy for the next three weeks at least!!

Today I attended a full day pre-marriage counselling workshop. They mainly covered all the theory aspects. The only interesting thing we did was a paper psychological test, a kinda inventory...There were 140+ questions. I had to shade the OAS like siao!! When we go for individual couple counselling, they will analyse my FH and my results, what probs we might have, what couple type we belong to, etc.

hi gals, mi n hubby went hdb today to enquire abt purchasing a new flat. hubby was adviced to transfer the ownership of the current flat he co-owned wif mil asap coz it takes time for documentation purpose n hdb to gif him back the $$ he paid + accrued interest. mi gave hubby warning to go hdb branch office to settle tis within 2 weeks.

also gotten the current (but nt really updated) list of WIS flat available inclusive of price fm the hdb recept... realised dat jurong west n woodlands are the cheapest place to buy in s'pore. can't imagine my eyes when i saw dat a 5rm flat cost oni abt $155k in jurong west lor.. 5rm exec in woodlands oni abt $235k (these are for 2nd floor units)

current WIS oni left those far north n west areas for selection, so i juz try my luck n ask the customer service when will the next batch of flats be released... was prompted dat the next batch will be released during the 4th quarter which means either oct/nov/dec, hope it will be at least during late oct coz hubby haven transfer his ownership out fm the current flat... best of all, the areas will be hougang/sengkang/punggol!!! hope the customer service gifs accurate info coz these are the areas i preferred to stay, near to my mum, sis n fren. i immediately told hubby die die we are going to queue at hdb once the news of the next WIS is announced, even if it means in the middle of the nite n next day haf to take urgent leave.. bo pian, first come first serve basis mah... lol

stary, usually the hotel you booked with will provide you with the sample of the wordings..

so you dont have to worry about the order.. just use the template the hotel provides..

actually jurong cheap not coz noone wants to stay so far...

but coz got quite a few blocks and projects got structural defects lor...

my friend went to see those empty units..

she told me she say the wallks were CRACKED...

meaning outside those walls hor.. those pillars.. she saw huge cracks...

it freaked her out.. so she changed her mind about buying there...

cos I din think of that... then that day abit panic.. lucky got my friends.. they rememebed about my table and quickly arrange for me..
like place the marriage cert nicely for the JP to sign.. put the rings on the ring pillow.. and the pens..
and when u sign the marriage cert hor.. remember dun sign so fast.. cos the camera cannot capture.. i signed too fast then only capture the moment when i pass the cert to my dad..
so abit wasted lor..
my friends said even if signature too short also must pretend.. hehe

ARGH... and I don't know which date to give him somemore... Thank goodness HTB doesn't want VG else I lagi more stress.

BTW, just realised that PG might refer to AD PG and not PS PG. If that is the case, then snowiee you gotta change my details coz I don't have an AD PG. Also, if you updating the table, can you update wedding rings as Soo Kee/Fairys Inc? My ring is from Soo Kee but HTB is customising his.

I am not sure which hotel to go for leh.. Looking at abt 30-40 tables but headache coz most hotels that we are looking at (like Four Seasons, Fullerton, etc) can only cater to abt 30 max and that is too small. Unless go for Shang (mum doesn't like) else got no option liao. Sigh...
