07/07/2007 - hot date for ROM?

Hey,

I need a little help here. FH & me planning to ROM on the above mentioned date, but have a feeling that there's gonna be quite a number of couples gonna rom then too.

was wondering when's the earliest I can efile for that date?

and if anyone has venue recommendations for about 20pax? those that i've been looking at are around 30-50pax. plus when is the earliest i need to 'chop' the venue?

We're intending to hold an intimate affair.

me and bf fix this date to ROM too. yeah, i also think this is HOT date for ROM as the room for solemnization at Fort Canning already fully booked. So you need to start venue searching early...
anyway we will ROM in church, have booked the chapel

i also like the date 070707... now have a few hotel in mind.. but have to wait for my FH to check whethet issit still available... by the way have you gal found your BS... yestherday went to suntec for the asia bride road show.. and sign up a plan with white link.. now feel abit regretted... hear many bad comment on them... haiz.. shouldn't be too rush

FH and me just signed up for BS today at the Brideasia show. with bridal concept. . not very pricey too and they cater straight to your needs &amp; very reassuring on clearing all your doubts.

our BS includes ROM &amp; AD with 5 yrs open date..

hi lynn how much is your package... do they provide ROM dress, makeup, hairdo and flower too. . have u found your location... u got any idea wad u wan for solemnization.. indoor or outdoor.. me now can't make up my mind to have it in afternoon or nite... i wish to have a poolside one.. hee...

Hi gers.. i'm having my ROM on 7 july 2007 also.. =) Chopped my venue, solemnisor, MUA, photographer and also my BS for my rom dress le.. very KS right? haha.. u all better go find fast..

so far, venue wise, i know Merchant Court, Amara outdoor venues are fully booked. The nice nice fountain at Furama Riverfront also fully booked. Unless u dun mind their function room, u try ur luck.

Usually they cater ard $1000 to $1300 for 30 pax lunch or hi-tea buffet. Still haven include the +++. As for my GST rate, the hotel say will follow the July 07 GST rate.. =( i hope the GST starts from 1 August.. but slim chance.. sigh..

btw, just to share, i got amara poolside as venue, Jeannie Yong - MUA, soleminsor Mr Chan, photographer Derrick Ong and for ROM dress, i haven pay the deposit yet, but i've chosen Jawn Ever After. =)

oh yah.. with regard to efiling, the earliest u can efile is 3 months before ur ROM date. But u have to find your solemnisor fast. If got solemnisor, then the efiling dun have to worry.

Most of the popular solemnisors are quite packed on that day le.. so better hurry..

qianqian: yup they provide. slightly over 3k. including actual day ones also.

i havent decide on venue. probably just within ROM ba. if still got space. *cross fingers*

bridal we also signed up last yr with 5 yrs open date, it's with Santiago... some bad comments also but there are also a few brides with good comments, so just go ahead &amp; try try cos already put $1k deposit le

hi piglet.. santiago have very nice gown... hee... i fall in love with the gown... actally intended to sgin up their 3388 package but they only give me 28 photo for the album... whereas whitelink give me 32 and it digital.. so i choosen whitelink over santiago.. and my WG is MTM so can copy the santiago desgin.. keke.. <wink>

icic,i haven seen their actual gowns yet cos that time when we sign up was at Marina Sq roadshow, but see the pics are quite nice hehe...my package was $3188 that time, and only 24 pics wor,so bit regret after that.

HI gals, I am thinking of having my ROM on 070707 too.. Have called a lot of hotels and most of them are fully booked for outdoorss.. sob sob. Now only left with Grand Corpthorne waterfront for outdoor cum indoor ROM. And Pan Pacific for just indoor... By the way, do we need to book the venue or JP first? Which one should come first?

Hi jodie, book both together. Better hurry before the venue and JP is fully booked. For the JP side, u can let him/her know once u have confirmed..

My rom is at Amara Poolside. It's a outdoor solemnisation venue, but the hi tea buffet would be sheltered, though no air con.. only got fans.. I wanted the late morning slot.. coz it wun be so hot.. but it's already taken, so bo pian, gotta take the 3 to 5pm slot.. Actually my first choice is merchant court. I love the setting, but they are fully booked since last yr Dec. Anyway heard from merchant court that they are gg to remove the shelter, so might be a good thing we din get them.

It depends on whether you want indoor or outdoor. I prefer outdoor coz it's more like garden-kind of feeling.. A more sunshine "healthy" feeling.. haha.. *cross fingers* hope dun rain on that day.. haha.. Outdoor venues, mostly booked le.. from my findings last month.

As for indoors, furama riverfront has a very nice fountain view from the lobby, and you dun have to worry abt wet weather. But i think it's fully booked on 070707. Unless u wanna change the date, it would be a lovely place.

These are my expenditures, approximately..

Venue (30 minimum + 10 additional guests) - $1550?? coz depends when the GST hike comes in

MUA + bouquet - $250
Photographer - $300
Dress (mtm) + shirt - $700??

not forgetting ang pao for solemnisor, wedding favours (if still got money), decor, etc.. hmm.. we budget $3k loh..

Exclude the RINGS!! haha.. Our rings are ard $1350

Feel that ROM is more for my FH and me.. more meaningful to us.. so dun mind spending more.. whereas AD and wedding dinner more like for our parents..

just my 2 cent worth..

actually not everywhere is fully book.. u can check out other hotels beside the recommended one.. i found a list stilll available... but may be more expensive... and dunno their pool nice or not.. hee... i will go down to a few hotels this weekend.. and hopefully can confrim the venue...

so wad u gals intending to wear on ROM.. can't make up my mind should wear a long dress or short one.. hmm... any suggestion?

Hello all! I'm also getting ROM on 07/07/07!! I havent confirmed my solemniser but just booked my venue today and realised there are already 3 bookings for weddings on that day!!

Seems like everyone is getting Mr Chan on that day... hmm any suggestions for other solemnisers?

Arama Hotel was the first one I went to see. But becos of the fans not very nice or blend in the atmosphere.. we drop the idea ofhaving it..

I think i will get a hotel for the poolside..

at least u can tell the hotel to keep the slot reserved for you first if u still wanna look at other hotels.. deposit will be payed upon confirmation and signing of contract..

yes, i've engaged Mr Chan last month le.. apparently he's already quite packed.. if i'm not wrong, he has about one solemnisation every hour..

I read that they do the solemnisation out of their free will, so basically they dun earn or make anything out of giving their precious time for us.

Maybe it will be good not to ask for a super early (6 am?) or super late timing (10pm?).. Though u can try...

erm 6am is like super early. lol i'm lookin at a timeslot around early afternoon say after 12pm.

I guess i'll probably be using lovethatbinds, managed to convince my FH to go down this sunday instead of 3rd feb. heh heh.

but i'm still rather unsure, is it to say that if managed to get a JP and venue for 07/07/2007 (either thru LTB or outside ROM) then i do not need to rush online to efile on 7th Apr?

hi lynn, if possible can call LTB and ask before going.. as reference to Lim Choon Kiat on 2nd post she mention that all the room in LTB is fully booked.. so give them a call b4 going may save wasting your trip.. heee...

qianqian, my venue is at Carlton hotel. Solemnization at the outdoor little "hut" and makan at the function room so not so hot. I have a few more venues in mind but I dun really have time to go chk all &amp; my bf and I quite like Carlton oredi. Quickly go book urs k?

Anyway I tried calling Mr Chan a few times and always cannot get him. Managed to get Mr Phang- saw on the forum he is not bad too... hopefully hehe

1. Halia -at Botanical Gardens but quite inconvenient
2. V Tea - menu is mostly cakes
3. Gallery Hotel
4. Furama Waterfont- think its fully booked oredi!
5. Scarlet Hotel- heard the food is not fantastic but nice place

think u better concentrate on finding PG (photographer) and MUA first... Dress can wait until ur PG and MUA is confirmed..

Sorry, cant help on the PG side, as almost half of who i've called was booked when i'm trying to find mine early this month.

Can some1 give me some pointers? i'm getting ROM on 07july07 too. Asked Mrs Chia for my JP. But she told me she can oni cfm with me 2 mths b4 my ROM date to sign the consent form. But so called i "secured" the slot le... Haiz, naw i have changed the hotel hi-tea slot to buffet dinner slot becoz the dinner slot got a nicer venue. Do u tink i shaold change my JP or tell her abt the new timing if she is available on that dae? Coz i felt insecure... Sekali 2 mths b4 my ROM n she say she can't make it, u tink i still can find another JP? although i dun mind a "not so famous" 1... Tat's a problem when it comes to ROM in hot dates...

just a function room name tapestryroom@csc club at bt batok (choose that bcos they say will help me arrange for solemanizer.. me and my FH = lazy.. hee)... my MUA and dress will be from white link.... but same as princess i still can't find a PG...

hey princess, think MUA still alot available... hmmm... think at least mine is available cos she let me choose btw 11am or 3pm... why not u check out some BS for their ROM package.. maybe can get your dress and MUA together.... good luck...

joanne, i think u should at least inform Mrs chia abt the changing of time, then if she really cannot or maybe her evening slot is already 'secured' by others liao.. then find others lor... all the best..
