I know what you mean... that's why I just shortlisted 5 hotels that were within our budget and desired location, went to view 3 of them after email queries and made my decision after that :D

Mine is Zaiton, very friendly and accommodating. My wedding is next Jan so I can't tell you much about the food but I really like their ballroom, square and pillar less with higher ceiling. Also, the ballroom comes with it's own reception area which is quite big. Price wise, quite affordable...
