Really depends on the htb/ htb family's situation. Bride must manage her parents' expectations accordingly too. Prior the the parents meeting to discuss, best to ask them first, then let the htb know. See if it's acceptable. So during the meeting it would be manageable. That's what I'm doing.

I think it's fine for Save the date. Especially for guests your really want to invite. Usually people would be planning for December holidays early. June is a good time! I think I will start in May for my top lists first :)
