Europe trip: First timer need advice

Thanks Peng for answering. I think the figures are a bit out. For our car rental in Bordeaux in Jan 2011 from Europcar (through www.auto-europe.co.uk), we paid only £159.48 for 7 days rental. Taking the exchange rate of £1 = SGD 2, that only costs SGD 45.57 per day. It was for a car of type...

    F&E - Paris & Italy

Hi Cat, Thank you for your helpful posting. I wrote those guides sometime back and they may be a little outdated; but I guess the essence of it is still there. I'm glad you found it useful. Sure, as long as others find it useful too I am happy to share it for free. A lot of useful tips...

    F&E - Paris & Italy

Hi Aimei, May I humbly suggest that it may be better in future for yourself if you conveniently went to Google first. If you cannot find the answer there after some effort, then you're most welcome to post in the forum. It makes you look more hardworking.

    F&E - Paris & Italy

Hi Aimei, Peng is very kind to reply to you; but do you think it might be better to use Google to find out such information? You could have Googled for "Paris France" and you would have gotten the answer in five seconds. How about Googling for the seasons in Europe? Good travel websites...

Advice needed for Paris Free & Easy

Hi there, I think you need to differentiate between the Eurostar, which brings you from Paris to London, and the RER B train, which brings you from CDG Airport to Paris.

    Italy / France / London

Hi Kris, Yes, 10 days is enough for the two cities. You may consider also making day trips out of Paris / London; the surrounding countryside is beautiful too and there's lots to see.

    DO NOT TAKE TIGER AIRWAYS!!!

It's really quite brave of you to share your "non-standard" history. Sillyporeans are so much "by the book", "ten-year-series", and "model answer" type of people. This leads to many people planning rushed and standard itineraries. I often try to persuade people to take things a little slower...

    DO NOT TAKE TIGER AIRWAYS!!!

Yes I saw your post in that thread too. Amazing. Great response from you though. I would probably have had less patience. I noticed you've lived in Connecticut? I think a large part of the moron-ness is due to Sillyporeans living all their lives in a tiny island, touring other countries...

    DO NOT TAKE TIGER AIRWAYS!!!

Hi Eileen Fu, You're one of the more daring people here in this forum who rant... Watch me rant at Singaporeans... warning, sarcasm and ranting expected! Here's just one example: http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?t=3097627 Sometimes I wonder why I bother to try to...

    SPAIN HONEYMOON

Not exactly in December, but early February, during CNY. Weather is about the same as in Dec. Spain is suitable for travelling even in December because if you look at a map, you will realize it is not too far north. So it isn't very cold, especially Southern and Eastern Spain.

    ADVICE NEEDED! ITALY

Hi verang12, Wow Feb 2012, you still have quite some time. It's good that you're starting your planning early, as honestly, for a successful F&E trip, you'd need to do a lot of your own research. Sure, it helps if you look at someone else's itinerary; but I wonder if you would enjoy...

Europe trip: First timer need advice

Hi thiasy, I don't stay in standard places like Amsterdam and Brussels; so unless you want to stay in the relatively unknown towns like I did, my recommendations are useless. Furthermore we only stayed in ONE B&B in the Netherlands, and ONE B&B in Belgium. You could either be...

Any suggestions for honeymoon in early November?

Hi Cloudy, Let me do a rough estimation for you. Assuming 25 nights. Airfare: SGD 1250 * 2 = SGD 2500 Accommodation: Assume a very generous 75 Euros per room per night, 75 * 25 * 1.73 = SGD 3243.75. Car rental: Assuming 160 GBP per week (which is what I got for my last car rental in...

Any suggestions for honeymoon in early November?

Hi Cloudy, Yes I understand. For our wedding, we split it like this; my wife did all the wedding preparations, whereas I did the honeymoon preparations. With your budget of 5k per person, it is quite possible to keep within budget. For our holiday to relatively more expensive Germany /...

Dynasty Travel Group Tour to Europe

Hi, Anyway Keukenhof is a very nice garden to visit; one of the best in the world. I know, because I stayed near Keukenhof for four years of my life. The myth that F&E is more expensive continues to persist. Yes, if planned badly, it will be more expensive. But if planned well by a...
