hi winning11, my reno completed abt 2 wks ago overall JGH was okay as mine was a simple reno with not much carpentry.... workmanship on kitchen cabinet is not bad & they do follow up on our 'complaints' (eg painting needed some touch up) fairly quickly

i too will think alot abt the reno & for sure will be upset if things go haywire but i wouldnt bother 2 monitor the reno daily cos its veri tiring leh .....

we also 1st timer hm owner but engaged a contractor....think majority of ppl in the forum r 1st time hm owner did A&D gives u an exact date to finish the reno?? we forgot to ask the contractor to put down the start + end date on the contract altho he did mentioned that it shdnt take more...

once ur hb has finished his reservist then u can breath abit easy lah we also couldnt speed up alot of things cos my SO is very busy with work. furthermore with limited budget, things can't go wrong for us so we're very cautious + edgy with $$/reno matter

hmm, i was initially keen to engage A&D-Louis for our reno after seeing quite a few positive comments abt him.... in the end we chose another contractor due to 2 reasons..... $$ + time yes he did gave us a reasonable quote which is within our budget but my SO prefers the other quote as...

well, juz signed up wif JGH on Sun..... dun really like them but no choice as the quote is very reasonable.... anyway, will update this thread during/after reno....fingers crossed that everythg will be ok!

hi, anyone of u got repurchased flat from hdb & then did laminate flooring? just wondering if hdb will provide cement screeding for repurchased flat foc??? we intend to do laminate flooring but if we gotta pay for cement screeding then might hv to consider using homo tiles isntead...
