Have been having acne problems since teens until in my 30s. So stressing until it affects my confidence a lot. I have a lot of doctors' treatments and it went better a lot. After stop treatment, they all came back again like never been treated.
Do you have any similar experience or recommendation or suggestion what product or doctor to go?
I have very sensitive skin and acne especially around cheek and mouth area
Thank in advance

Actually there are lots of detox products available in the market. Just go Guardian and get the pharmacist to recommend. Pharmacists will know better, they offer free advice and will not force you to buy any medicine.

Can you advise me how to do detox?

Ely11, in simple terms, detox means to cleanse your system of the toxins. One popular method in western countries is juice cleanse.
This is done by drinking a green color juice made from vegetables like kale, parsley, wheatgrass etc, and adding superfoods like chia seed, spirulina.
They will drink it for a about a week or so. And it will flush out toxins from their body.

Can try Lumispa too. It is a cleansing device. I have been suffering from acne since teenage. now i am in my 30s I still have active skin prone to breakouts. Lumispa made cleansing so much easier and better. Of course, internally I also take supplements to detox and improve my body system.

Hello Ely, not sure if your acne problem is settled already as I see the thread is from 2019. I have quite a number of friends who recovered from acne through taking care of both skincare and diet. Maybe before I can recommend you properly, would like to know a few things.

1. Do you take a lot of fried/oily food/supper/spicy food?
2. Did your skin became really dry and sometimes red? You mentioned your skin is sensitive, is it that even when your skin touches water, you also feel that it stings?
3. Does the skin on your lips or around your mouth area peels?
4. What skincare regime and products are you using now?

If you're uncomfortable to share everything here but want to know more, feel free to pm me to my instagram @j.keytobeauty

Sincerely hope that your skin is better already! Stay safe!

Hi you can try applying ICM Acne Clear. I bought several tubes from Watsons and it helps to clear my acne very quickly.

I have very sensitive skin since young. I rarely have any acne since until I start wearing mask for several hours. I tend to have one or two acne around my cheeks at times. Now I will put a piece of tissue paper on the mask and it helps to reduce the sensitiveness.

I will apply the cream whenever I see redness and it clear very quickly.

Hi thanks for sharing. Due to wearing face mask for long hours I would have 1 or 2 small pimples around my cheeks due to skin sensitiveness. Now I no longer having small pimples after I changed surgical mask to normal mask. I think surgical mark is not suitable for me. I don't go out for hours daily so not too much of problem :)

Doctor's treatments may not be for everyone. For one, they are not cheap. My skin doc Dr Daniel Chang recommends using a silk mask, differin gel and a gentle moisturiser for simple acne. But acne often gets worse before it gets better, so be warned.

Has anyone here done acne laser? Looking into getting the treatment at Zion Aesthetic and let the professionals do it. I fear that my self-treatments are doing more harm than good + I'm very impatient.

Maybe you would like to identify the food that triggers your acne. One good way to start is by eliminating high sugar source (soft drinks, pastries etc) and dairy. As a guide, drink at least 8 glasses of water every day.

I had clear skin till 25yo. It took me at least 4 years to reduce the breakouts. I tried aesthetic doctor, expensive skin care products but nothing worked. First thing, i Started accepting the way i look, with that my stress level reduced. Started hiking and jogging, no indoor workout, need the fresh air. Stopped using towel to wipe face instead i am using facial cotton. Reduce intake of oily food and you can try skin care products with salicylic acid and niacimide.

I actually agree with you eating healthier can really help to prevent breakouts and skincare is important to try what is best for your skin and try not to conform to the trends that people are following! :) hope that your skincare journey will be better!
