DIAMONDS Lovers!!!

Just to add to what PK said, if u're not extremely concerned about having the number "ONE" carat, u can go for something tt's just below 1 carat (e.g. 0.95 carat). The diamond size will be very similar to a 1 carat, but the price will be significantly less cos u didn't cross the 1 carat mark. There's an exponential increase in price when u cross that mark.

BTW, I just saw on the SB main page that for this mth, if u mention SingaporeBrides.com when you buy from WhiteFlash, you can get US$100 off. That will help to cover your shipping + insurance cost.

Hiya all...

Still doing my homework of finding that proposal ring.

Just one question.....

I know that Hearts and Arrow diamonds in the internet are one class higher than the normal daimonds we see in the 'normal diamond sections' in the jewellery shops.

So am I right to say that the internet Hearts and Arrows diamonds are actually the same class as those boutique cut diamonds sold under brand names like Brilliant Rose, Destinee, Hearts On Fire??

Hearts and Arrow diamonds have a standard diamond facet pattern with 57 facets, cut to ideal proportions to form the H&A pattern. The "normal" diamonds are also 57-facet, just that their proportions are not ideal. The internet H&A diamonds will be the same as Destinee and Hearts on Fire. In fact, I've heard that A Cut Above from WhiteFlash looks exactly the same as Hearts of Fire.

Brilliant Rose has a different facet pattern from the standard. If I'm not wrong, it has 66 facets. Their claim is that their higher number of facets give the diamond more brilliance, but honestly, I don't believe that more facets = more brilliance. Same for the Celestial diamond, it has a different facet pattern from an H&A. 70+ or smth liddat.

ok....

so am I right to say H&A diamonds, given all other factors (the 4Cs) the same, will be as shiny as BR, Destinee, Celestial, HOF?

I have seen those at their respective shops.... really shiny than all other normal diamonds... especially HOF from TianPo.... stunning....... the price tag also stunning.

I think it's safe to say that it'll look just like Destinee and HOF. I can't say whether you'll like it better than BR or Celestial though, cos the pattern is totally different, so it boils down to individual preference. But if you like like the HOF at TianPo, I'm pretty sure other H&A diamonds will wow you too.

Do bear in mind that jewellery shops have special lightings though. My friend felt disappointed when she received her H&A diamond bought online cos under her room light, it didn't look as good as the H&A diamonds in jewellery shops. But once she wore her diamond under jewellery shop lightings, she was =))).

HI PK and DiamondFanatic,

thanks for your advice. Your input really helped me to gauge what I can get most out of $10k. I do slightly know about the diff specs (not just the 4Cs)except I was not sure reg the most appropriate price range. Furthermore, I am currently in Aust, and the dia here really sucks. THats why I wanted to know the dia prices in sin and then compare them to the online ones.

BTW, if I buy from Whiteflash, the add cost will be the setting, insurance, shipping and gst right?

kristen86

New Member
Yup, you'll have to add the cost of the setting, bankwire (aka TT) charges, GST and shipping cost(insurance included). I won't recommend you buy the setting from them. It's better to get it set in Singapore, which will cost you only ard S$400 for a white gold solitaire. Platinum will be upwards of S$800. Settings from WF costs much more. BTW, I'm also in Aust now. I think SG jewellery shops r cheaper den here in Sydney!

Hi Christina, you are welcome.

My pave band(18WG with 6 diamonds on each side) definitely costs less than $1k. It goes a long way to "bling" up the solitare.:)

WOW, u know I wanted something like that...not just 1 diamond cause nowadays very common. Thought the $$ will be ex but $1k... that is good value man!

Yah DiamondFanatic...I am currently in Melb and will be going back to Brissy next year...I don't even want to begin on their diamond shops...went into Tiffany and some other shops and next thing I know I was calling my mum and her diamond wholesaler in Sin to find out on prices.

Hi! The diamonds on the pave band are, of course, very small;-) but i was also surprised that they managed to add so much shine to the main diamond. So, do consider this pave option! It's still versatile enough to go with jeans & T.;-)

Hi Bryce, I should add that I introduced James Allen for the design, not to suggest that you buy from them. I have not bought anything from James Allen so am the last person to endorse them.:)

Hi all,

I need some help here.
Recently, I have been hunting around for engagement ring and need some advice.
I have been to SK, Goldheart, Lee Hwa, Sookee.
At this point of time I'm interested in a 0.9 carat, G color, SI2 clarity, round cut and GIA certified diamond ring from Sookee. They are charging me $5508 after discount (I think it's a 50% discount).
Is it a good buy?

I have not been to eClarity and Josi yet. Should I go this 2 places to take a look?

Hi Terr! Do make a trip to Josi. You can see my above comments. If u want a sizeable stone, then definitely get a good colour. Am pretty sure that u will see some yellow in the current stone. Good luck!:)

Hi Terr,

The carat size, colour and clarity doesn't say much. You need to take cut into consideration as well. An ideal cut and a poor cut can make a world of the difference for a diamond that has the same specs otherwise. I think you should check out as many places as you can before committing. Don't buy into the 50% discount gimmick. They basically double the price and then give you a 50% discount.

Hello Im new here.

Just wondering if anyone has any infos about BlueNile online diamond dealer. It seems very popular among westerners but heard the price is abit steep compared to Whiteflash or pricescope. Im more assured if fellow Sporeans have experienced buying from them.

Another Qs i wanna ask is does all round diamonds have H&S pattern?

Hi fat ger,
Ya..tats what the sales told me, diamond from the deep sea...i was puzzled when i hear it..
My budget, $2000-@2300. I will be contented with a 0.5 one, cos too big, looks fake...

fat_ger

I was puzzled too. does they provide GIA cert? If i were you, can get something within your budget and get a diamond that is brilliance enough. Cut is very important, so try to get an triple excellent one.

I need some advise from the experts here, have the following specs:
Carat weight: 1.00
clolour grade E
Clarity grade: SI1
Cut grade: very good
Polish & Finish: very good

The one small spot for the SI1 grading is 'off the table', just at the side and some clouding at the extreme opposite side.
At price of $8679, is this considered a good buy?
Graded by GIA.

Hi
cos Lazare diamonds are not cheap if u buy a solitaire or a set then it can easily hit $5000 cos of the quality of the diamond, if you noe Larry(can custom made wat u wan) or Lazare diamonds(world most beautiful diamond) u will feel that this voucher is a great help when u buy from them. maybe u wanna take a look at the website
http://lazarediamonds.com/
The price of the voucher is very neg. cos we already got wat we need so it is a bit extra for us so posting to see if anyone needs it, just need to pay a token to us for the voucher will do.

I got mine in SGD3000 through friend reference.
Certified by local Singapore Gem Lab.
1ct colourless Heart cut diamond with platinum ring setting! Which I believe that mine is the best buy in SG already, cause the cheapest I can find in retail is taka inhouse diamond whereby their 1ct loose diamond is super yellowish, clarity also not there, no ring setting somemore $3500.

Anyone who are keen to find diamond for proposal can pm me I can pass you the contact where I get my 1ct proposal ring
