I don’t think there is any market rate and yes, it’s usually exchange sure the 过大礼. It’s all base on groom’s side and his Budget etc. On how much to return to the groom side will base on your parents. E.g: groom give $2888, bride side keep $2000 and return $888. Hope this helps! :)
