Try taking Hydroxycut. A couple of my mates tried and it works! Of course it only works with good diet and exercise. However, the version sold in GNC doesnt work that well. |

You can try the South Beach Diet, which doesn't advocate cutting out carbs altogether but in making the carbs more complex. My friend followed it and he lost quite a bit of weight, about 10 kg over 3 months? He started off really plump, but now he looks just slightly overweight. For me, I took up dancing and lost about 2-3kg over 5 months. However, I also built up a lot of muscle. |

Detoxification for 2 weeks on non-carbo diet. Only fruits, fruit juice and plenty of green leafy vegs. Search "Detoxification" on web. Lot of articles on this topic. |

Not everyone can go through a juice-only diet. It will give some dizzy spells and affect your daily work performance etc. |

Hey Cherry, you can try www.thesouthbeachdiet.com, or you can get the book of the same name by Arthur Agatston. His explanations of how the diet works are pretty clear and interesting. |

of cos you will get dizzy spells. juice-only diet is unhealthy starving of the body from the required nutrition. If the idea of losing weight is irregardless of health, then go take poison like Slim 10. Sure lose weight at the expense of your health. Detoxification is healthy for clearing the system once or twice a week. NOT 2 weeks on juice and fruits. This is crazy diet. Want to die also don't need to suffer like this. |

yea... my colleague went on a juice diet... she was 80+kg ... then down to 70+ kg in 2 weeks... but i feel no use... though she slim down, her 2 weeks were a torture and she ended up with pale complexion and saggy skin... esp ard the chin area... no use... i think dont attempt to lose weight too fast...impt thing is to maintain the weight loss... certain yoga pose can help tone saggy skin.. so complement it with cardio... i think end results will be rather good and furthermore... u will learn to cultivate a healthier life style.

I am actually at my heaviest weight of my life now (5kg more than last year weight). Bridal photoshoot is in a week's time. Looks like I've to rely on my photographer's skills and Photoshop to slim down my figure on photos LOL! |

yes... complex carbo helps.. so sumtimes during my lunch, instead of rice, i'll have steak/ tuna w/o mayo or heinz beans instead... i find that i dun go hungry so soon... and another healthy way is to cut down on sugar (simple carbo) and salt (water retention). I mean cut down... not cut OFF... |

complex carbo also mean meat...or anything protein... personally, i will compliment my compex carbo meal with vegs and fruits. I always have some snacks in between meals... to make sure that i dun starve so that i do not gorge on dinner. For snacks, i choose plain cereal biscuits, seaweed, kelp, dried mushrooms etc etc.. |

I went through the 2-week detox programme before. I didn't die. I lost a few kg. I have to admit that it was tough at first. You will feel weak. So if can better take leave. Alternatively, juice only for the first few days then followed by light diet. There are many variations of detox. Search the web for more info. |

cherry, i think ur case is similar to mine. Cant starve. So what i did is that i reduce my food intake. Rather than eating all those oily food, i plan small but tasty meals for myself..so why dun u plan ur daily meals with food u love, but i smaller portions.. i think u'd enjoy it.

I have a colleague who is going to get married and she is reducing her food intake. Eg: she will take yong tau foo without the rice or noodles. If it is cai peng, then just the vegs w/o the rice. Then if it is fish slice soup, she also omits the rice. I think she still continues eating but avoid starch like rice, noodles, bread, etc. And I can see results. She is really slimmer and tummy flatter. Also more radiant. And yes, she eats lots of fruits when she is hungry. |

losing and then maintaining your "ideal" weight is all about discipline - balanced diet with exercise. I don't think there is short-cut.. If you are trying to find short-cut.. it is probably short-term gains.. |

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together. If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising, start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack, disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest). |

hi, Eating Healthy is a great rule to follow: Healthy body, healthy mind. Fruits ,Vegetables, whole grains, and Dairy products. Your ulcers will heal, but you have to be careful to stay away from acidic foods. Oranges,Grapefruits, and Tomato, also some soft drinks, can affect an ulcer.Healthy Bodies come in all shapes and sizes. As long as you eat properly and feel alright, that's the main thing. Congratulations on your weight loss.Try to regain your health by healing your ulcers. Good Luck in your quest for health! |

one cannot cut carbo and train hard. It contradicts and basically your exercise performance will be affected from the lack of energy. The idea isn't to struggle poorly through all the exercises but to have proper balance diet to match complement your workout. Instead, switch to complex carbo that takes longer to digest. Brown rice or potatoes in replacement of white rice. You only cut your carbo on rest days when u r not using much energy. Remember, losing weight too drastically is very stressful to your body and you could die from heart failure. Also, its healthier to lose weight by eating many small regular meals than skipping food altogether. If you work out regularly at the right intensity, u will burn calories effectively even when resting. |

Michelle, Reductil is already banned in SG as it increase the risk of stroke and heart attack. It's best not to take high risk pills from unknown website. The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) is suspending the sale of sibutramine products in Singapore with effect from today. Sibutramine is marketed under four different brands in Singapore - Reductil®, Ectiva®, Reduxade® (all by Abbott) and Slenfig® (Apotheca Marketing). It was licensed for use in Singapore in 2001 as an adjunctive therapy to diet and exercise for obesity and for overweight patients. The decision to suspend the sale of these products came about after HSA consulted its Pharmacovigilance Advisory Committee (PVAC) and a panel of external experts in metabolic diseases and cardiology about the risks and benefits of the drug. From a benefit-risk assessment of the drug, HSA concluded that the increased cardiovascular risk of sibutramine outweighed the modest weight loss (up to 2.4 kg) seen in patients. HSA's decision also took into consideration the findings from the Sibutramine Cardiovascular Outcomes (SCOUT) study, the use of the product in Singapore, and developments in other international jurisdictions. The SCOUT study was a large study designed to evaluate the cardiovascular safety after the long-term use of sibutramine in patients who had a history of heart disease and/or type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. The study has shown a moderate increased risk of serious cardiovascular events associated with sibutramine use in patients with pre-existing heart disease. It also demonstrated that the increased cardiovascular risk of sibutramine outweighed the modest efficacy seen. Following the preliminary results of the SCOUT study in early 2010, HSA had updated healthcare professionals in January 2010 on the cardiovascular risks associated with the use of sibutramine and advised healthcare professionals not to prescribe the drug to patients with a history of heart disease. In Singapore, all four sibutramine products are not allowed for use in patients with a history of cardiovascular problems such as coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, tachycardia, peripheral arterial occlusive disease, arrhythmia, stroke and inadequately controlled hypertension. To date, HSA has received three non-serious cardiovasular-related adverse reaction reports that were associated with the use of sibutramine. All three patients had recovered following the discontinuation of the use of sibutramine products. With the suspension of sales of sibutramine, doctors have been advised not to prescribe sibutramine to new patients. Patients who have been prescribed sibutramine are advised to consult their doctors for a review of their therapy. Patients should also consult their doctors if they experience cardiovascular-related side effects such as increased heart rate, irregular heartbeat, or any other discomforts after taking sibutramine. Earlier this month, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommended against the continued use of sibutramine as the drug may pose unnecessary cardiovascular risks to patients. Prior to that, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) had decided to suspend the marketing of sibutramine throughout Europe until additional data becomes available. Abbott Laboratories (Singapore) Pte Ltd has set up a telephone hotline to handle any enquiries related to this suspension of sales at Tel: 6277 6310 from 9am to 5pm (Monday to Sunday). |
