Let’s get the obvious one out of the way, but it does deserve its reputation. St. Moritz has 350 kilometres of slopes across three distinct mountain areas, each with its own character.<\/p>

Corviglia is the most accessible, well-groomed and ideal if one of you is more confident on skis than the other (no judgement). Corvatsch is for those who want something more dramatic \u2014 the vertical drops are genuinely thrilling. As the crown jewels of St. Moritz’s winter sports scene, the triumvirate of Corviglia, Corvatsch, and Diavolezza offer a tapestry of snowy slopes, breathtaking vistas, and adrenaline-fuelled thrills. Indulge in a rejuvenating massage or unwind in a luxurious thermal bath, drawing on the healing properties of the region’s mineral-rich waters. In fact, almost all of the hotels in the village have their own award-winning, in-house spas. The spas are modern and beautifully designed, and it\u2019s easy to get lost in the different treatments available, from pine-scented saunas to outdoor pools.<\/p>

The honest advice: don’t try to pack too much into a spa day here. Book one or two treatments, use the thermal facilities, and let the afternoon go. This is exactly the kind of indulgence a honeymoon is for.<\/p>

Shopping in the old town<\/b><\/b><\/p>

The old town of St. Moritz operates at a different pace from the resort areas \u2014 cobblestoned and unhurried, with painted facades and ornate balconies that look like they belong in a different century. What we’d actually recommend: skip the luxury shopping (unless that’s your thing) and go straight for the food. The local bakeries and confectioneries are exceptional \u2014 the Engadin walnut tart in particular is the kind of thing you’ll think about long after you’ve left. Pair it with Swiss hot chocolate, find a table with a view, and just be somewhere for a while.<\/p>

Art and History<\/b><\/b><\/p>

St. Moritz also offers myriad cultural experiences for couples seeking to enrich their honeymoon in Switzerland. Immerse yourselves in Swiss landscapes at the Segantini Museum, or explore the Museum Engiadinais to delve into the region’s captivating history and traditions. The Segantini Museum is built into the mountain landscape that inspired Giovanni Segantini’s work, which means standing inside it and looking at his paintings of the Alps, then turning to look out the window at the actual Alps, creating a quietly disorienting and rather beautiful experience.<\/p>

The museum is also available as a wedding venue: ceremonies held in the light-drenched galleries or on the terrace, with the mountain panorama as backdrop. It is, genuinely, unlike anything else.<\/p>

Hauser & Wirth, an internationally acclaimed gallery, has an outpost on Via Serlas that’s well worth an hour of your time, particularly if contemporary art is something you both care about. Exhibitions change regularly and the programming tends to be serious. Yummy bites and a cocktail at the bar after viewing is a must.<\/p>

Horse Carriage Rides<\/b><\/b><\/p>

During our stay at Hotel Waldhaus Sils-Maria, we were treated to a horse carriage ride that was one of my favourite memories. Within the Engadin Valley lies the charming Via Fex, an idyllic haven where time really seems to stand still. Along the way, we were treated to rolling meadows covered in snow and dense forests that whisper secrets of centuries past. We also stopped at a small Protestant chapel at Fex-Crasta that sits alone in the landscape like something from a painting. The drivers know the area intimately and share the kind of local folklore and history that doesn’t make it into guidebooks. In winter, with everything blanketed in white and the only sound the rhythm of hooves on the road, it is an experience that earns the word romantic without trying.<\/p>

Gastronomy<\/b><\/b><\/p>

From the lush alpine meadows to the quaint valleys dotted with rustic farms, Switzerland’s gastronomic culture is a testament to the harmonious relationship between nature and the plate. Whether indulging in the hearty cuisine of the German-speaking regions, savouring the delicate flavours of the French-influenced West, or exploring the rustic charm of the Italian-inspired South, the farm-to-table philosophy here isn’t a marketing angle \u2014 it’s simply how things have always been done. At the heart of this gastronomic journey lies the reverence for nature’s bounty. Swiss farmers, deeply connected to the land, cultivate their crops with meticulous care, ensuring the finest quality produce. At the Waldhaus, we had a veal sausage with r\u00f6sti that was so well-executed it made us reconsider everything we thought we knew about potato pancakes. Simple, precise, completely satisfying. For something more elevated, Langosteria St. Moritz \u2014 an Italian fine-dining restaurant on the slopes of Corviglia, ski-in-ski-out \u2014 offers the kind of meal that almost warrants its own paragraph: the paccheri with sea bass was exceptional, and the combination of serious food with mountain air at altitude is an experience that feels almost absurdly pleasurable.<\/p>

When it comes to accommodations<\/a>, St. Moritz leaves no desire unfulfilled. Getting to St. Moritz

There are several ways to get to St. Moritz from Singapore. For this trip, we flew via Swiss Air to Z\u00fcrich, which took about 13 hours. From Z\u00fcrich Airport, we took a four-hour SBB<\/a> train journey to St. Moritz. You can expect to find 26 trains per day running on this popular route. As there aren\u2019t any direct services running between Zurich Airport and St. Moritz, you may need to make at least one train transfer on your journey.

Upon arrival at Z\u00fcrich Airport, we walked across to another wing of the building where the SBB counter was located. While waiting to pick up our Swiss Travel Passes<\/a>, our luggages were collected by Swiss Public Transport to be delivered directly to our hotel in St. Moritz. We were able to enjoy a comfortable train journey after the long flight.<\/p>
