For this trip, we stayed for three nights at the Hotel Waldhaus Sils-Maria. The Waldhaus doesn’t announce itself loudly. It sits at the edge of the village of Sils-Maria \u2014 a place that has historically attracted poets, philosophers, and people who take beauty seriously \u2014 and it lets its surroundings do most of the talking.<\/p>

What struck us most wasn’t the rooms (though they are beautifully considered) or the spa (though it’s the kind of restorative that makes you reconsider your entire wellness routine). It was the sense of continuity. Patrick, the fifth-generation owner, greeted us every morning in the lobby. His family members and the rest of the staff were simply there, chatting with long-time guests in the lounge the way people do in a home they’ve loved for decades. We were told that guests have come here for their own weddings, returned when their children were born, and walked back through the same doors again for their grandchildren’s celebrations. Getting to St. Moritz<\/b>
For this trip, we flew via Swiss Air from Singapore to Z\u00fcrich, which took about 13 hours. From Z\u00fcrich Airport, the train to St. Moritz takes approximately 4 hours. You can expect to find 26 trains per day running on this popular route. As there aren\u2019t any direct services running between Zurich Airport and St. Moritz, you may need to make at least one train transfer on your journey. SBB is the main train operator on this route.

Upon arrival at Z\u00fcrich Airport, we walked across to another wing of the building where the SBB counter was located. While waiting to pick up our Swiss Travel Passes, our luggages were collected by Swiss Public Transport to be delivered directly to our hotel in St. Moritz. We were able to enjoy a comfortable train journey after the long flight.<\/p>
