S<\/b>afira, 22, noticed Elias, 23, when they both attending the same mosque in Sydney, but although she had a tiny crush on him, she didn’t do anything about it. Three years later, they met again at the same mosque, and Safira knew it was now or never! Another three years later, this pair of lovebirds wed at Raffles Singapore in an emotional and beautiful ceremony.<\/p>\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"Safira

Tell us a little bit about how you met!<\/b><\/b><\/p>

Safira<\/i>: We met in Sydney, Australia. I went there for religious studies in 2016 and first saw Elias at the mosque. I had a crush on him at that time but I didn\u2019t manage to meet or speak to him. I went to Sydney for the second time in 2019 for a holiday and went to the same mosque and saw him there again! We introduced ourselves and chatted for the two weeks that I was there. That was when he told me that he felt the same way too. After I came back to Singapore, COVID happened. We had a long-distance relationship for almost three years. Although we were far apart, we\u2019re very happy to say that our relationship became stronger with trust, faith and patience.<\/p>\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"Safira

What do you love most about your partner?<\/b><\/b><\/p>

Safira<\/i>: He\u2019s extremely sweet, caring and affectionate. He’s also a good listener and very patient. He has positive mindset. And he\u2019s really goofy. He makes me laugh all the time. We have similar interests and just happened to have very strong chemistry between us. Most importantly, we always have each other’s backs no matter what, and he\u2019s willing to go through thick and thin with me. He completes me and makes me feel like home. That made me fall in love with him. I’m always looking forward to creating new memories together with him.<\/p>

Elias<\/i>: The thing I love most about my wife is her demeanour and her charisma. At times, I\u2019m in awe of the way she carries herself around her peers. The thing that made me fall in love with her is her beauty. I love her expressions. She may look upstanding at first glance but when you get to know her she is as goofy as they come.<\/p>\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"Safira

What was the proposal like?<\/b><\/b><\/p>

Safira<\/i>: Elias proposed to me in January 2022. He wrote a letter asking for my hand in marriage through my parents. I responded with a “yes” without a doubt. I felt so overwhelmed, nervous but full of happiness after years of long distance. It was all worth the wait.<\/p>\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"Safira

What was your wedding theme and how did you create it?<\/b><\/b><\/p>

Safira<\/i>: I\u2019ve always wanted an outdoor set up for my wedding at Raffles Hotel. It’s indeed the perfect venue. I love colonial buildings and I think it suits beautifully with the theme I went for. I requested for a dreamy ethereal outdoor garden wedding theme. And The Luna SG delivered! They slayed the decor 100%. My solemnisation was so magical, bright and dreamy. It was so, so beautiful. It made me feel like I’m in a fairytale!<\/p>\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"Safira

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?<\/b><\/b><\/p>

Safira<\/i>: It was when my father handed me over to my husband during our solemnisation. It was beautiful and emotional all at the same time. When I was walking down the aisle, I saw my husband’s reaction. He looked nervous and we both got teary-eyed because finally married after being apart for so many years. After the solemnisation ended, he told me how beautiful I looked and about his initial disbelief when he saw me walking down the aisle.
