Wenjin and Bayu tied the knot in a beautiful wedding at the Glasshouse in Andaz Singapore.<\/i><\/p>

W<\/b>enjin and Bayu met via a dating application but it was their common interest in learning the Korean language that brought them together. The pair soon discovered that they shared many other similarities and love soon blossomed. After an intimate and private proposal, Wenjin and Bayu celebrated their union at the Glasshouse in Andaz Singapore with a simple gatecrash where they dressed in traditional Chinese wedding outfits and a boisterous wedding banquet with their family and friends in attendance.<\/p>

Share with us your story. How did the two of you meet?<\/b><\/b><\/p>

We met through a dating application. After exchanging our contact details, our first meeting was motivated by our common interest to learn the Korean language. We met up at the language school near our offices and had dinner before we went to the school to learn more about their courses. However, we didn’t end up enrolling at that school.<\/p>\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"

What drew you to each other?<\/b><\/b><\/p>

We felt that we agreed on most things in general, and even if we did not, we were both willing to communicate with each other to avoid any or further misunderstandings or disappointments. This was very important to us because it shows us that we value and respect each other and are committed to understanding each other. Most importantly, we had similar values, interests and opinions!<\/p>\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"

What was the proposal like?<\/b><\/b><\/p>

Wenjin<\/i>: Oblivious to his plans, I had unknowingly cancelled my own proposal. Bayu had planned to take me out for dinner on Valentine’s Day and propose to me. However, thinking that it was a working day and that there was no plans, I decided to Bayu’s sister for rock climbing. <\/p>

So, the next day, while I was working from home, Bayu came over and proposed. Although it was a very ordinary day and it was a simple proposal between us, we felt that it was one of the most memorable moment in our lives.<\/p>\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"

Tell us about your wedding planning. Did you have a wedding theme?<\/b><\/b><\/p>

We chose Andaz Singapore as the venue for our wedding because it had the best of both an indoor and outdoor wedding. Unlike most ballrooms, the Glasshouse had a great view of the surrounding city area due to its tall full length glass windows. It also felt more spacious due to its tall ceiling. We didn’t have a specific wedding theme in mind, but because our big day happened a day before Halloween, we had our groomsmen and relatives put on inflatable T-rex costumes during the reception to make it more memorable for our guests.<\/p>\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"

Take us back to your wedding day.<\/b><\/b><\/p>

Bayu<\/i>: We had our gatecrash and tea ceremony in our hotel rooms, and after a short break, we started to prepare for our wedding banquet. Instead of focusing on ourselves, we decided to prioritise our guests’ experience. We wanted them to feel welcomed and have as much fun as they can, and make it a memorable event for them as well. So, we set up several interactive activities such as a pre-event dessert bar, interactive wedding favours, a photo booth and a digital wedding message posting platform to keep them occupied before the banquet dinner starts.<\/p>

Since many of Wenjin’s family and friends were overseas, we also had a live stream of our wedding for them to witness as well. Video clips with recorded messages from our family and friends overseas who couldn’t make it to our wedding played during the celebration. For our banquet, we had two main highlights. The giant balloon-filled balloons along the sides of the aisle were popped as we took our first march-in, followed by our lovely flower girl and page boy walking down the aisle in a Donald Duck costume for our second march-in. The rest of the night proceeded in a pretty standard routine with us going around our guest tables to show our appreciation for their presence.<\/p>\"\"\"\"\"\"

What was the day like and how were you feeling?<\/b><\/b><\/p>

It was busy, hectic and tiring but it was all worth it! The feedback we got from our guests just made it all even better! Every moment of the day was truly memorable for us.<\/p>\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"

What did your family\/friends have to say about your wedding day?<\/b><\/b><\/p>

They were all smiles and praises after the wedding. They told us how much they enjoyed it and that it was one of the most unique weddings they\u2019ve been to! It meant so much to us! we couldn\u2019t have done it without the unconditional help from some of our close relatives. A heartfelt thank you to our cousins and their families, we are deeply in debt for their help and our wedding banquet wouldn\u2019t have been a success without them.<\/p>\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"

What is one lesson you\u2019ve learned from your wedding planning that you\u2019d like to share with other couples?<\/b><\/b><\/p>

Time management is important and couples need to plan ahead for their big day. Coordination among vendors is also crucial to make the event run smoothly.<\/p>
