They may look like burnished metal, but they&#8217;re actually made of paper and paint! A touch of gold looks gorgeous above your reception table, or transforms your photobooth\u2019s backdrop into a veritable Bower of Bliss. <\/p><div class=\"banner\"><script type=\"text\/javascript\">OA_show(5);<\/script><\/div><p>Here&#8217;s what you&#8217;ll need:<\/p><ul><li>White paper<\/li><li>Cardboard<\/li><li>Scissors<\/li><li>Gold spray paint<\/li><li>Glue<\/li><li>A leaf or <a href=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Gilded-in-Gold-Leaf-Template.pdf\">Gilded in Gold Leaf Template<\/a><\/li><\/ul><p>Time taken each: 20 minutes<\/p><p>Average cost: Most of the materials can be found around the house. Gold spray paint costs about $10\/can, but you won&#8217;t need a lot of it per letter.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" loading=\"lazy\"  class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9334\" alt=\"gold leaf letters 3\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/gold-leaf-letters-3-e1392796661164.jpg\"  \/><\/a><p>1: Print out the letters you need in a sans serif font. You can also draw the letters freehand, like we did, each about 10 inches in height. Trace your letters onto cardboard and cut them out.<\/p><p>We spelt out &#8220;love,&#8221; since that\u2019s what weddings celebrate, but you can use these pretty gold leaf alphabets for anything you like\u2014create your initials, spell out &#8220;Desserts&#8221; or &#8220;Just Married&#8221; for pretty DIY wedding signage d\u00e9cor.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" loading=\"lazy\"  class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9333\" alt=\"gold leaf letters 2\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/gold-leaf-letters-2-e1392796641943.jpg\" \/><\/a><p>2: Fold the white paper in accordion folds along its length. This enables you to cut out multiple leaves at once and save time. Pick a leaf from outside, or print and cut out this <a href=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Gilded-in-Gold-Leaf-Template.pdf\">Gilded in Gold Leaf Template<\/a>. Holding the leaf as a template, cut out leaves from the white paper. You should need approximately 1 A4 sheet of paper per letter.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" loading=\"lazy\"  class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9332\" alt=\"gold leaf letters 1\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/gold-leaf-letters-1-e1392796608518.jpg\"  \/><\/a><p>3: Fold each leaf in half.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" loading=\"lazy\"  class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9335\" alt=\"gold leaf letters 4\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/gold-leaf-letters-4-e1392796688782.jpg\"  \/><\/a><p>4: Make three or four creases along each halved leaf, then open them up. Place the letters on newspaper and gild away. Remember to spray from different angles to paint the undersides of the leaves as well.
