We caught each other\u2019s eyes at the university camp and have been together since.<\/p><p><i>Pamela:<\/i> He threw a water balloon at me in a water balloon fight thinking I had thrown one at him first (I didn\u2019t). We started a water balloon fight and ended up chatting the whole night after. Her spontaneous nature led us to try many new things that I would otherwise not have tried. Being with her has been both exciting and interesting. I can always count on her to add more colour to my life now that she is my wife.<\/p><p><i>Pamela: <\/i>Adrian is always cheery and positive. He has the energy of a teenager and the jokes of a very old man. I fell in love on a cold night in the middle of winter. I had been coughing nonstop for a week and when he heard that he came over in the cold to pass me homemade porridge and cough syrup. I opted for a surprise proposal under the guise that it was a staycation to celebrate my birthday that was a week later. The getaway package at Shangri-La Hotel included a spa session during which I had a great friend of mine decorate the hotel room for my proposal while we were out. The magical moment of her walking in to see the hotel room decorated was when I proposed. I remember her interrupting me mid-speech to ask if I had obtained her parent\u2019s permission. Regulations kept changing and many couples in the year we got married had their weddings canceled. The constant changes were more taxing emotionally than anything as there was always a concern at the back of our minds that we should just cancel our bookings. The theme was pretty much determined by the locations we ended up picking \u2013 both the Armenian Church and Masons Table are heritage European buildings with a lot of character and history. We matched our flowers and photographer style to the venues, and DIY-ed the majority of the decor to save costs.<\/p>    <p><b><b>How did you keep to your wedding budget of $13,000?<\/b><\/b><\/p><p>   We are firm believers that guests should not be the ones to pick up the wedding tab, and determined our wedding budget with that in mind. I learnt of Armenian Church from <a href=\"https:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/\">articles on SingaporeBrides<\/a> and was inspired by some of the <a href=\"https:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/category\/real-weddings\/\">Real Weddings<\/a> featuring <a href=\"https:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/2018\/11\/wedding-cost-singapore\/\">couples who held their weddings for under $30K<\/a>. We managed our budget with the help of friends and strict planning. We split apart items which were a must for us\u2014solemnisation in a church, a good photographer, and lunch banquet costs\u2014from items which were just optional or good-to-haves. We had decided not to bother with an early morning gatecrash but the groom&#8217;s party had other ideas. The groomsmen made Adrian do a live gatecrash session during the lunch.
