Carissa and Keith tied the knot in an intimate and art-filled wedding at Zafferano, surrounded by only their nearest and dearest.<\/i><\/p>

K<\/b>eith Chia, 30, Software Engineer, loved how Carissa Low, 27, Advertising Executive, put a twist on the traditional proposal by asking him to marry her at the void deck of her house. The couple celebrated their union with an intimate wedding of only 40 pax in Zafferano on 27 November 2021, where they featured a gallery wall of art about important milestones in their story.<\/p>

How did you first meet?<\/b><\/b><\/p>

We met in school, and were good friends before exploring a relationship together.<\/p>\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"

What do you love most about your partner? <\/b><\/b><\/p>

Carissa:<\/i> He has a gentle soul and he\u2019s supportive and great at listening. He encourages me every day to be better, and to put myself and my happiness first in life. <\/p>

Keith: <\/i>What I love most about Carissa is that I can be myself around her, more than anybody else in the world. I can be my truest self, and I have no anxieties about judgment or rebuke. That\u2019s something that\u2019s truly special to me, that I can say about nobody else.<\/p>\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"

What was the proposal like?<\/b><\/b><\/p>

Carissa:<\/i> I proposed! Under the void deck of my block. No glitz or glamour, just a very simple proposal haha.<\/p>

Keith: <\/i>We walked home one night, like any other evening, and she sat me down at the table at her void deck. She pulled out a small cloth bag with the engagement pieces inside and asked me if I would marry her. She had decided that she wanted to be the person to propose a while ago, and this was a very low-key, private, and intimate moment that only the two of us shared, but still a twist on tradition that made it uniquely ours. It was perfect.<\/p>\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"

Did COVID-19 affect your wedding plans?<\/b><\/b><\/p>

In a sense, yes. We wanted a small wedding, and it was a great excuse to have a small wedding. And because of that, we were able to make things more bespoke, dedicating a lot more effort and budget to each individual guest, such as writing personalised digital invitations for every person.<\/p>\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"

What was your wedding theme and how did you create it? <\/b><\/b><\/p>

It was a modern and creative take on a wedding\u2014we wanted to have the wedding be an expression of our relationship and our love, and we thought, what better way to express it than through art? So we decided to approach a number of artists to create interpretations of stories throughout our relationship. <\/p>

We came up with nine different stories of events, moments, or prominent artefacts from throughout our relationship, and asked three artists to come up with artworks that would embody those stories, told in their own style. We made those into a small gallery wall that was featured during the wedding, and also made them into small playing cards that we gave the guests as wedding favours. <\/p>

SingaporeBrides was a great way to gather inspiration during the planning phases of the wedding, helping us to get a sense of the direction that we wanted for our own special day! A large part of our vendor shortlists came from weddings that we had found on SingaporeBrides.<\/p>\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"

What was your wedding day like? <\/b><\/b><\/p>

It was surreal to see the culmination of months and months of planning and stressing over small details come to life. <\/p>

The day itself was so lovely and intimate! We were surrounded by our loved ones, and as our guest count was only 40 pax, we were able to go around to chat at length with our friends and family, and hang out with everyone. We were both so calm on the day itself because everything went super smoothly, thanks to our wedding planner, Jessica from Everitt Weddings, and all the vendors that came together to make the day happen. We\u2019re super thankful. <\/p>\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?<\/b><\/b><\/p>

We forgot the bridal bouquet and left it in the hotel suite\u2026 lol. And because it was too late to run back to get it, we marched in with no bouquet haha. Luckily, no one noticed, and we still have some great photos in the morning with the bouquet before the solemnisation. <\/p>

And the most important thing was that we were going to get married, bouquet or not.<\/p>

Keith: <\/i>I knew that marrying her was the only thing that mattered, and that nothing could stop that day from being truly special to me.<\/p>
