Shi Yun and Darren met through a lucky case of mistaken identity! The adventurous pair originally had plans to document their love for hiking with a campervan road trip through Austria, so they got creative and donned their hiking boots for their local pre-wedding shoot.<\/p>

\u201cWe initially wanted a campervan-inspired photoshoot in Austria because we love to hike and enjoyed the road trips we have been on overseas. The concept of our local shoot was to capture that adventure aspect. We told our photographer that we wanted our photos to look as though they were taken somewhere foreign, and not Singapore. She suggested a few places and we decided to go with Coney Island. We love how those photos turned out.\u201d<\/p>

Eka won Sophie over by sending her memes and asking her out every day for lunch! With COVID-19 spoiling plans for an overseas proposal, Eka reached out to our Editor-in-Chief Michelle for ideas on a beautiful proposal here in Singapore. Against the romantic backdrop of florals over the water at sunrise, Sophie said yes to the dawn of a new chapter together!<\/p>

“I hinted to her two days before the proposal that she should dress up and do her hair nicely that coming Saturday. She laughed and asked if it was for our proposal. There was no way to deny it because I also had to get her to the location by 7am for sunrise! So it wasn\u2019t entirely a surprise but luckily that\u2019s not something that particularly mattered to her. Saturday morning came, the weather was perfect and everything went well.”<\/p>

Paige and Wilson met on an online dating app and clicked almost instantly. Less than a year later, they were engaged and planning their wedding. However, their wedding plans were inevitably disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, but that did not dampen their hopes of an intimate and quirky Wes Anderson themed solemnisation at the Night Safari Singapore.<\/p>

We\u2019ve always wanted an intimate and cosy wedding without many guests but our parents wanted something more traditional like a wedding banquet. Hence, we planned for a separate solemnisation ceremony event with only our immediate family and close friends at the Tipi Tent in the Night Safari. <\/p>

\u201cIn addition, we had a theme that we wanted for our solemnisation (quirky, Wes Anderson kind of feel) and the Tipi Tent fit right into our theme. I We requested for the ceremony area to be decorated in bright, colourful colours with a rustic-feel to pay tribute to Wes Anderson\u2019s Moonrise Kingdom while blending in to the forest-like surroundings of Night Safari. We got paper fox masks for our bridal party (inspired by Wes Anderson\u2019s Mr Fantastic Fox) and requested our bridal party to turn up in bright block-coloured attire. Our friends and family were awed by how special our solemnisation ceremony was, right from the moment they were greeted by the WRS dogs at the entrance of the Night Safari. In addition, they were intrigued to be accompanied by the dogs on their dedicated tram ride into the Tipi Tent area. The animal interaction segment presented by the WRS staff was much appreciated and wowed our guests. \u201c<\/p>

Cherie and Isaac met while training for Ultimate Frisbee, and got engaged at the very same spot in the NUS Law School Quadrangle. The couple documented their love in a sunkissed local session at Lower Peirce Reservoir and in a charming shoot at Sum Yi Tai (now closed) for some vintage oriental vibes.<\/p>

\u201cWe chose to do the photoshoot locally. We wanted a scenic location in Singapore as well as something different from the usual. As we looked through the profiles of wedding photographers, we found inspiration from projects done byAndri Tei Photographyon Instagram. We decided on Lower Peirce Reservoir for a day shoot to capture the beauty of the sunrise and nature. For our second location, we chose Sum Yi Tai for an oriental vibe to go with Cherie\u2019s second gown, as it draws inspiration from a cheongsam.\u201d<\/p>

Evangeline and Joellooked like they stepped straight out of an Impressionist painting at their stunning wedding atMonti at 1-Pavilion, framed by lush and ethereal floral installations in spring hues and glowing orbs. Against the backdrop of the sparkling marina, they and their guests danced in their seats and toasted their love with a J\u00e4ger Train.<\/p>

\u201cAs we had to squeeze all the planning into the two months, we didn\u2019t have much time to think of the theme and we engaged Lalu from Wulala! to style up the venue. We had only a few screenshots of designs we liked from SingaporeBrides and social media. Lalu asked us to send her those shots, and she immediately identified the style we liked and subsequently came up with a theme (Modern-Ethereal Impressionist Soiree) and mood board for us. We left her to do the design in absolute blind faith and had totally no idea how it would turn out. Thankfully, we were really blown away on the day itself as the venue was very beautifully set up and it was a lot nicer than how we had imagined. She did an amazing job and even till now, we are still receiving many compliments on the set up and flowers from our guests.\u201d<\/p>

Brenda and Matthewtied the knot in Sinfonia Ristorante at Victoria Concert Hall with an intimate group of family and friends who bore witness to their love and commitment to one another. With a fun portrait session in wedding kuas at the iconic Dragon Playground followed by an elegant wedding in Sinfonia Ristorante with autumn-hued florals and handwritten, personal messages to each guest, Brenda and Matthew\u2019s wedding day was a warm and beautiful celebration of their love.<\/p>

\u201cWe didn\u2019t have a theme per se, but more of what we wanted our guests to feel, which was warmth. Matt and I designed all the invitation cards, hand-wrote personalised messages for each guest, and wax-sealed them ourselves. We didn\u2019t like how typical wedding banquets mostly felt processional, and since we had the chance to have an intimate wedding, we wanted every guest to feel special by adding that personal touch.\u201d <\/p>

\u201cWe didn\u2019t have a wedding planner or stylist, and so everything was conceptualised by us. Because the architecture of Victoria Concert Hall is quite grand, we added warm lights to accentuate the characteristics of the venue. We went with an autumn colour palette for the flowers and bridesmaid and groomsmen ensemble, so that it gives off a romantic vibe for the night ceremony. We had a vision of how we wanted our photos and videos to look. So as we discussed the flower arrangements, we also thought about how it would frame our photos.\u201d<\/p>

Sun Yang and Wen Qiang\u2019s wedding at The Barracks Hotel was an intimate and beautiful celebration filled with light and love. Simple and elegant with white florals complemented with touches of lilac, and a fairylight aisle, their wedding was a classic one indeed.<\/p>

\u201cOur wedding theme was simplicity and elegance and we feel that our vendors did an amazing job with the florals and the setup of the fairy lights platform.We were happy that it was small and intimate with the closest of family and friends.\u201d<\/p>

Lynnette and Kelvin originally planned to tie the knot in Penang, where Lynette is from, but COVID-19 derailed those plans. To honour Lynette\u2019s heritage, the couple celebrated their love in an intimate and colourful wedding at the Peranakan restaurant Candlenut, where Lynnette and her bridesmaids dressed up in beautiful kebayas, surrounded by their nearest and dearest.<\/p>

\u201cI felt that it was a no-brainer to don kebayas at the lunch, given the Peranakan cuisine. Some of my guy friends decided to wear batik shirts too, which made it even more fun and colourful.\u201d<\/p>

Sweethearts Reaiah and Jeremy met during a squash friendly match between their schools nearly a decade ago. COVID-19 forced them to postpone their wedding for almost a year, and Reaiah and Jeremy finally tied the knot in an intimate celebration with their closest family and friends in attendance.<\/p>

\u201cWith the 100 persons rule, we wanted to make our wedding very intimate (from a photo montage including ALL of our guests, to a thank-you speech to every single one of them too!). Indeed, our family and friends said that it was one of the most heartwarming weddings they\u2019ve attended. We wanted the traditions to have meaning for us, so we did away with the cake cutting (as we are really not cake people), and instead of doing a yum-seng with champagne, we opted for our favourite beverages (bubble tea & liang cha) instead. It was a special moment that represented us.\u201d<\/p>

Valerie and Zachary started dating after two years of friendship and found forever soulmates in each other. The lovebirds embarked on a unique wedding journey that saw them changing plans for their big day three times before they tied the knot in a beautiful and intimate solemnisation filled with classically elegant white and red florals in the iconic Chijmes Hall Singapore.<\/p>

\u201cAs our wedding happened during the Circuit Breaker, we had to cope with some of the strictest restrictions such as no dining-in rules. So, we went from a wedding banquet of 100 persons to a solemnisation only with guests seated in group of five, and eventually down to groups of two. We felt like we had planned three weddings instead of one! Honestly, we have to thank our guests as they had to fill in a barrage of google forms in order for us to best gauge vaccination rates and swabbing sentiments. They were our MVPs.\u201d\u201cThe most memorable moment was definitely the \u2018Hug-the-Bride\u2019 moment. After many reminders from our planner and solemniser that we can most definitelynotkiss, we decided on a dramatic hug and spin on the stage.\u201d<\/p>
