Don\u2019t worry! If you can\u2019t give your 500 guests a handmade wedding favour each, you can inject your personal touch in the details that make a big impact, such as in your beloved&#8217;s and his groomsmen\u2019s wardrobes for the day. Perfect for weddings in rustic chic style, this easy-to-make boutonniere adds a dash of dapper to your man\u2019s sharp suit.<\/p><div class=\"banner\"><script type=\"text\/javascript\">OA_show(5);<\/script><\/div><p>Here\u2019s what you need:<\/p><ul>    <li>Burlap or similar textured fabric<\/li>    <li>Wooden skewers<\/li>    <li>Dark grey ribbon<\/li>    <li>Striped navy and white ribbon<\/li>    <li>Twine<\/li>    <li>Three kinds of buttons<\/li>    <li>Feathers in different colours<\/li>    <li>Pin backs<\/li>    <li>Cardboard in cereal box-weight<\/li>    <li>Needle and thread<\/li>    <li>Scissors<\/li>    <li>Craft glue<\/li><\/ul><p>Time taken each: 10 minutes<\/p><p>Average cost each: About $3<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  alt=\"diy boutonniere 3\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/diy-boutonniere-3-e1381896282302.jpg\"\/><p>1: Trace these <a href=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Rustic-Chic-Boutonniere-Template.pdf\">leaf templates<\/a> onto the cardboard, one small leaf and one large leaf per boutonniere. Cut them out.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  alt=\"diy boutonniere 4\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/diy-boutonniere-4-e1381896241335.jpg\"\/><p>2: Holding a cardboard leaf against the burlap, use the leaf as a pattern for cutting out a leaf shape on the burlap. Cut out one small leaf and one large leaf per boutonniere.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  alt=\"diy boutonniere 5\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/diy-boutonniere-5-e1381896191908.jpg\"\/><p>3: Glue down the small burlap leaf on the small cardboard leaf, natural colour side up. Let dry for a minute or so, then trim the edges of the burlap, or tease out frayed edges with your fingers if you prefer a more rustic look.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  alt=\"diy boutonniere 8\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/diy-boutonniere-8-e1381896095743.jpg\"\/><p>4: Measure out about 12cm on a wooden skewer, score with scissors, and break.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  alt=\"diy boutonniere 6\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/diy-boutonniere-6-e1381896156518.jpg\"\/><p>5: Apply glue along two-thirds of the skewer, and wrap the dark grey ribbon tightly around it. Cut the ribbon and let dry for about a minute.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  alt=\"diy boutonniere 7\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/diy-boutonniere-7-e1381896121208.jpg\"\/><p>6: Glue the skewer to the middle of the back of the small leaf.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  alt=\"diy boutonniere 9\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/diy-boutonniere-9-e1381896048511.jpg\"\/><p>7: Apply glue on the cardboard back of the small leaf and the skewer, then cover them with the large burlap leaf, pressing down to help secure the skewer in place.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  alt=\"diy boutonniere 10\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/diy-boutonniere-10-e1381896029776.jpg\"\/><p>8: Choose one dark feather and one patterned feather and glue them onto the front of the small leaf.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  alt=\"diy boutonniere 11\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/diy-boutonniere-11-e1381896014567.jpg\"\/><p>9: Play around with the arrangement of three different buttons, just below the feathers. Sew in place, being careful to hide the thread under the front of the bow.
