For example, she has a compassionate nature, which influenced me to think a lot more about things from another person\u2019s point of view. Her sense of humour and wittiness are naturally attractive and it\u2019s nice that we get each other\u2019s jokes when others don\u2019t. As part of the trip, Shang planned for the both of us to take a helicopter ride to a glacier where he would propose. However, there were strong winds on that day and the helicopter had to take a detour to a cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. <\/p><p>After the nerve-racking ride, when we landed safely on the cliff, Shang took out the ring and a bouquet of flowers\u2014which he had made arrangements with the company to prepare\u2014and proposed. He showed me a video he made of him asking my parents for permission for us to get married. In the video, my sisters and Shang\u2019s family made a surprise appearance to congratulate us as well. We wanted it to be an intimate and closed affair with just our family and close friends\u2014people who have impacted our lives and people who know us as a couple. On our wedding day, we didn\u2019t really get to sit down to \u201ctake in the moment\u201d as everything happened sequentially as planned, to the hour.<\/p><p>We were thankful to the people around us who helped put everything we planned together. Shang had learnt piano when he was a kid, and his rusty skills still enabled him to punch out a couple of simple tunes (a mash up of \u201cMy Heart Will Go On\u201d and \u201cRight Here Waiting\u201d. It was nerve-racking when it was my turn to join him on the stage for the duet, and I forgot all my notes!
