First, it was a romantic proposal in Paris on Valentine\u2019s Day, followed by a private solemnisation on the Singapore Flyer and finally, a wedding dinner with ice sculptures, chocolate fountains and feather garlands.<\/i><\/p><p><b class=\"special\">M<\/b>eet Angeline Chang, 29, Automotive Sales Executive and Sean Tay, 30, Bank Senior Client Advisor\/Banker \u2013 one of the lucky women who actually got proposed to at the Eiffel Tower and one of the most romantic men who actually chose the Eiffel Tower for his proposal. Learn what else they packed into their lavish celebration of their union on 29 December 2011 and pick up some inspiration on how to hold the wedding of the year.<\/p><div class=\"banner\"><script type=\"text\/javascript\">OA_show(5);<\/script><\/div><p><b><b>How did the two of you meet?<\/b><\/b><\/p><p>We worked at the same local bank but were stationed at different branches. We first met at a road show, where the staff from a few branches would gather. He came to talk to me and followed up with persistent calls. That eventually led to gifts and dinner dates. A few months later, we were an item.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/MyOnceInALifetime2-e1339076800966.jpg\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/MyOnceInALifetime4-e1339076822265.jpg\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/MyOnceInALifetime6-e1339076852780.jpg\"\/><p><b><b>What was the proposal like?<\/b><\/b><\/p><p>Sean proposed to me on Valentine\u2019s Day while we were in Paris, so to sum it up, it was nothing but romantic. After dinner, we headed to the summit of the Eiffel Tower. It was there that he got down on one knee and proposed. Needless to say, tears of joy were shed that night.<\/p><p><b><b>Walk us through the planning for your wedding.<\/b><\/b><\/p><p>We had our solemnisation ceremony at the highest point of the Singapore Flyer on 11 November 2011. We kept it an intimate affair, with just family and close friends and held it in a private capsule on the Flyer.<\/p><p>Our wedding dinner was held at the Fullerton Hotel. We decided on a &#8220;GLAM&#8221; theme and wanted grand and glamourous decorations for our wedding. After close collaboration and discussion with the hotel, we had our entrance way adorned with fairy lights and feathers and requested for a huge VIP table for 20 persons to be placed in the middle of the room. We even had an ice sculpture and a photo frame made of ice with our wedding photo in it at the reception!<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/MyOnceInALifetime10-e1339076992927.jpg\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/MyOnceInALifetime8-e1339077041691.jpg\"\/><p>We wanted our guests to be kept occupied before dinner commenced, so we included a personalised photo booth and chocolate fountains at the reception area. Our wedding band, A Little Dream, belted out a compilation of Chinese and English love songs that we handpicked ourselves throughout the night. In addition, our VIPs were also gifted with feather garlands and flowers.<\/p><p><b><b>What was it like on the actual day of the wedding?<\/b><\/b><\/p><p>Fun and exhausting at the same time! But that\u2019s to be expected. The morning \u201cgate crashing\u201d was amusing! Sean\u2019s brothers prepared dozens of red packets that were filled with tissue paper and those got my sisters quite irritated. Eventually, they handed over an \u201cextra big\u201d red packet. The brothers were then treated to a sumptuous breakfast and afterwards, put on a short impersonation of the dance group, Wonder Girls.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/MyOnceInALifetime3-e1339076672130.jpg\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/MyOnceInALifetime5-e1339076692705.jpg\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/MyOnceInALifetime7-e1339076762791.jpg\"\/><p>For our wedding ride, we arranged for a Mercedes Benz S Class and an eight-seater limousine to stay true to our &#8220;GLAM&#8221; theme. At the hotel, we made an effort to get ready ahead of time so we could head to the reception and mingle with our guests. Besides engaging the services of Chris Ling\u2019s team, we also arranged for a separate photography team so our guests received an instant photo as we realised that guests don\u2019t usually get to keep the photos taken at weddings. As for our wedding favour, we gave out Toto tickets and a bridal photo card sealed in a red packet. And as expected, there was none left behind after the dinner!<\/p><p><b><b>What did your family and friends have to say about your wedding?<\/b><\/b><\/p><p>They were really impressed with all the extra set-ups we had at the reception and were really pleased that we came down to mingle with them during the cocktail reception. Some even commented that it was the wedding of the year for them! They also enjoyed our concept video and remarked that it was nothing short of a real and touching retelling of Sean\u2019s and my love story.<\/p><p><b><b>Were there any particular moments that were especially memorable to you?<\/b><\/b><\/p><p>I would say it\u2019s more of a shock than anything else. During the wedding reception, our wedding coordinator printed out a guest list of 35 tables instead of the 43 we were supposed to have. And because she was late for the pre-wedding briefing, we didn\u2019t manage to get to review the guest list. As a result, some of our guests were left standing around. I had a soft copy with me but it was on my laptop and it was at home.
