and Roxanne 27\" \/><p><b><b>How did the two of you meet?<\/b><\/b><\/p><p><i>Roxanne:<\/i> We met in Mediacorp, about two years ago. I was a branding and promotions executive then, while Terence was a trailer producer. We ran a lot together even before dating. I was training for my half marathon then, and Terence taught me how to improve my breathing and strides so that I could clock my personal best. He is very serious and strict, yet caring as a trainer and mentor. I was mesmerised when I saw him mentoring his disciple (then intern) in videography. However, he is a different person outside work; he can be a like a little boy at times. That\u2019s what I love most about him \u2013 he&#8217;s charming and manly yet cute and adorable!<p><i>Terence:<\/i> I was attracted to her kind heart and her big lovely smile; she is always helping people and doing it without wanting anything in return. A big plus was also the fact she is very filial to her parents and even siblings and never fail to help them out, even if it means that she herself would be struggling. She\u2019s also always working hard to be the best girlfriend and now wife. Terence proposed on his birthday. I actually spent three months planning his birthday weekend and getting his present. I kept it from him as I wanted it to be a surprise, but I told the plan to my best friends. It started off with a day at Universal Studios Singapore the Saturday before, then bringing him to do some canvas painting, and lastly whipping up a nice dinner for him on his birthday (I\u2019m a disaster at cooking by the way). <\/p><p>However, due to a lack of confidence, I decided to book a fancy French restaurant for dinner instead. My best friends tried to convince me to cook but I was very determined not to. Lo and behold, they were all in cahoots \u2013 my best friends told Terence about everything. So technically, he knew what I was doing for him and played along, pretending to be pleasantly surprised.  Well, Terence had intended to propose during \u201cdinner time,\u201d so he pretended  that his best friend had planned a birthday dinner for him, and he couldn&#8217;t cancel. Obviously, I wasn\u2019t too happy. I had no choice but to push my dinner plan forward to lunch. <\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" standing at the front in a suit, welcoming us. It was only when I saw one of my best friends that I sensed that something was not right and asked, \u201cWhy is Xuanyi here?\u201d I still didn\u2019t suspect that it was going to be a proposal. His best friend made a speech and asked me to enter the glasshouse and tap on the shoulders of the people inside; there were five of them, and all were my best buddies. Each of them was holding onto a photo nicely framed up with messages that Terence wanted to give me. I cried at the third. After speedreading all five (every one said I was reading super quickly), I turned around and there he was, on one knee. we had to choose, it would be \u201cFUN!\u201d After going through Pinterest for a month, I decided on the colours navy blue, sunflower yellow, and white. We wanted our wedding to be personal and simple \u2013 that\u2019s the reason why we did not go to a boutique and forwent the gatecrashing. We rendered help from our many friends. Terence\u2019s friend specially designed my gowns, our shoes were gifts from his best friend and girlfriend, and my sister. The photographers (both pre-wedding and actual) were his work friends, and so were the hairstylist and makeup artists! He is really well connected in the media industry, which really helped in the preparations.<\/p><p>We did not hand-make anything, but the decorations in church and Conrad Centennial Singapore were made by our friends Avril from Sunday Morning Celebrations and Ripple from Stitch X Marker respectively. Perhaps the only thing that was \u201chand-made\u201d by us were the videos. Though we started off slightly late (because no one from the groom&#8217;s party knew how to tie a bow tie), we managed to start the church ceremony and dinner banquet on time because our family and guests were all super cooperative and punctual. Everything went better than well! Not forgetting our wedding party, especially the three groomsmen. Without them helping Terence, our dinner banquet wouldn\u2019t have turned out so well.<\/p><p>We are not your usual couple, for one, we did not walk in the way couples normally do for the march-ins. We ran in on the first and danced in on the second. As we did videos as a \u201cprequel\u201d to our entrance, the moment that the door opened for us to enter had to be really precise to get the effect that we want.<\/p><p><i>Terence:<\/i> Our banquet manager, Kai, was especially helpful to us. He was always there to give us the best advice, and he helped me when I was going through the rundown, lights, and music with my groomsmen. Even the minute details like the number of bottles of wine we should open, the opening of the doors, or making sure everyone had food, everything was managed well and exactly to our instructions, Terrence and Roxanne 152\" \/><p><b><b>What was the most memorable moment of your wedding? <\/b><\/b><\/p><p><i>Terence:<\/i> There were two moments to be exact. The first video had us running through the streets of Singapore and eventually into Conrad and we continued that video by running in for our first march-in! Though many guests were sad they couldn\u2019t take many photos, they felt that it was really different and refreshing and something that maybe others might want to copy too! The next moment is the moment of the year. The second march-in.<\/p><p><i>Roxanne:<\/i> So what happened was, we had about 20 to 25 minutes to change for the second march-in and we decided to do something really different, which we believe is a first in Singapore; Terence got our hairstylist to cut my hair from a shoulder length to a short bob with an undercut during the change. It\u2019s planned, but besides the two of us, our hairstylist and makeup artist, no one, including our wedding party, knew that I was cutting my hair. My bridesmaids were in a state of shock when I told them, as they had to help me get my hair washed in less than five minutes. This was the biggest surprise we had for our guests. Though we were rushing (as we did not want our guests to wait for long), for the first time in my entire life, I felt like a superstar \u2013 I had a hairstylist and a makeup artist attending to me throughout the changes and march-ins, and I have to thank my husband for giving me such an experience!<\/p><p>We fully enjoyed the day and love the wedding a lot; when people ask me how it was, I would say \u201cIt was perfect!\u201d<\/p><p><b><b>Could you tell us the cost of your wedding, and your number of guests? <\/b><\/b><\/p><p><i>Roxanne:<\/i> We had about 150 guests for our church ceremony and about 375 for the dinner banquet.
