That was the theme of the day at the Graceful Image wedding show held on May 7 at the Riverview Hotel. Couples, who were greeted with cheerful balloon archways and models dressed in cute little balloon dresses, were in for a rather enjoyable\u2014and educational\u2014afternoon.<\/i><\/p><p><b  class=\"special\">I<\/b>t was Polling Day on a bright and sunny afternoon, but that didn\u2019t deter the couples from showing up at Riverview Hotel for a very well-rounded afternoon programme. First on the list was a talk about wines, followed by a performance of several well-loved wedding songs by talented musicians. That only set the mood for the runway show that was about to begin.<\/p><div class=\"banner\"><script type=\"text\/javascript\">OA_show(5);<\/script><\/div><p>The lights dimmed and the music started. The first gown to make its appearance on the runway was a high-neck gown with full-length lace sleeves and a V-neck, reminiscent of Kate Middleton\u2019s Royal Wedding gown. It was classically romantic, with a touch of character that is not usually seen on most wedding gowns. The next gown was a strapless gown with a pleated bodice and tulle ballroom-style skirt with intricate embroidery running down from the sashed waist.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Graceful-Image-1-e1310619517645.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Graceful Image\" \/><p>It was obvious from the next few gowns that Ms Judy Teo, resident designer at Graceful Image, had once again successful showcased her signature style, which is the Princess gown, in all its romantic glory. Although the cut is simple\u2014a fitted bodice and a full skirt, the design is never plain or minimalist. From the silver floral appliqu\u00e9 on silk taffeta, to a low-waist lace bodice with a tufted skirt train, or the unexpected feminine curls trailing down the skirt of a sexy, backless gown, there seems to be a gown for every woman in the audience.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Graceful-Image-2-e1310619578899.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Graceful Image\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Graceful-Image-3-e1310619614926.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Graceful Image\" \/><p>The crystal hair bands and delicate veils that crowned the heads of the models added a dreamy and regal quality to the gleaming Duchess satin gowns and silk georgette gowns with rhinestones and sequins, but these were soon replaced by a burst of the opulent and rich tones of evening gowns. Bold colours like sienna orange crepe satin and dark fuchsia florets blazed down the runway, while royal purple gowns and sensual coloured lace dresses brought the romantic level up a notch for the night.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Graceful-Image-e1310619640692.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Graceful Image\" \/><p>The show ended with a floral printed dress with frilled tulle and a chiffon overlay, the designer\u2019s clever way of rounding up her collection with a reminder to the audience of her message, that romance lies in all the details.<\/p><p class=\"special\">Graceful Image is at 21 Tan Quee Lan Street #01-02 Singapore 188108.
