The result: wedding cakes that look and taste so good, they would be heartbreaking to slice into, but just as heartwarming to bite into.<\/p><div class=\"banner\"><script type=\"text\/javascript\">OA_show(5);<\/script><\/div><p>A wedding wouldn\u2019t be complete without the symbolic cake-cutting ceremony. Why would you settle for a run-of-the-mill faux cake when you can have these amazing confectionery delights at your white-themed wedding? Take a look at these five white wedding cakes Queen Victoria would surely approve of.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"White Victorian Wedding Cakes\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Bonheur-Patisserie-e1309405608992.jpg\" \/><i class=\"special\">Rococo Noir by Bonheur Pattiserie. Tulip glass tea light holders from PaperWhite.<\/i><p>Nurain from Bonheur Pattiserie has chosen to pay a tribute to18<sup>th <\/sup>century Late Baroque architecture with her cake design. Rococo is derived from two words, &#8220;barocco&#8221; (an irregularly shaped pearl) and &#8220;rocaille&#8221; (a popular form of ornamentation using shells and pebbles). During Queen Victoria&#8217;s reign, some of Rococo&#8217;s distinct characteristics, such as the graceful S-curves, fanciful furniture and ornate jewellery, were preserved.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"White Victorian Wedding Cakes\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/1-Caramel-e1309407895454.jpg\" \/><i class=\"special\">Victoriana by 1-Caramel. Lily candle holders and ornaments by Oddjects.<\/i><p>This classic wedding cake by cake artist Sam Tan is inspired by the many easily-recognised characteristics of the Victorian period. It features intricate royal icing decorations set against an ivory background and the fleur-de-lis motif design that is found decorating the gates of Buckingham Palace. The ribbon design weaving in and out of the bottom layer of the cake is reminiscent of a young Victorian woman&#8217;s petticoat.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"White Victorian Wedding Cakes\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/My-Fat-Lady-e1309409082699.jpg\" \/><i class=\"special\">The Queenly Rose by My Fat Lady. Silver teaspoon and candle favours from PaperWhite.<\/i><p>Pearls, lace and little roses &#8211; it&#8217;s like you are sitting indoors, dressed to the nines and enjoying a cup of tea, as you peer out of the window onto a little English garden. This deceptively simple cake is full of delicate icing designs and hand crafted roses. It is perfect for an elegant white and black themed affair and will fit both formal and smaller intimate weddings.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"White Victorian Wedding Cakes and Flowers\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Sweets-Garibaldi1-e1309491967454.jpg\" \/><i class=\"special\">The Golden Age by Sweets Garibaldi.<\/i><p>The Victorian era was a prosperous time, both of the country and for the people. At the same time, there was a revival of of European art and architecture styles, known as Neo-Renaissance. The design on this cake is a hybrid of French, Italian and Grecian architecture, complete with the gilded look of thinly covered gold leaf or gold paint of the late Victorian period.<\/p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"White Victorian Wedding Cakes\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/singaporebrides.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Caffe-Pralet-e1309411634285.jpg\" \/><i class=\"special\">Queen&#8217;s Lace by Caffe Pralet by Creative Culinaire. Monogrammed plate from Oddjects.<\/i><p>Queen Victoria revived a dying lace industry when she commissioned a young artist from a small town in Devonshire to design the lace on her famous wedding gown. The type of lace, known as the Honiton lace, feature motifs of flowers bound together by braids, cleverly reproduced here by Judy Koh of Caffe Pralet by Creative Culinaire. It has become very fashionable to wear this type of lace, which is one of the most delicate of English bobbin laces.<\/p><p><b><b>The Flowers<\/b><\/b><\/p><p>Gorgeous as they are, these wedding cakes would look very lonely if they were placed on their own on a table at your white wedding. White flowers make the perfect ladies-in-waiting for the cakes, though they could very well hold their own court as table arrangements and centrepieces.
