Hi all~ i tried on a dress at Z wedding last night and loved it! Signed up to rent that one dress as I'm unsure if i should proceed with the entire package. Does anyone here has any reviews on Z wedding package (i know the prices) and their photog tie up with Chris Ling?

Any other reason why they want to cancel on you?

One of the reason given was one of the singer's dad got cancer. Another reason given was the singer's bro need to bring forward the wedding from next yr to this yr which fall on the same date as mine. Therefore he can't sing and she Oso can't sing. But the things is I sign up last yr. I don't mind one can't make it but why the rest can't perform? U got wat I mean?
Is not abt the refund things is the hours I spend to shortlist those bands... Wat pissed me is tat there is no contract sign! Really cannot make it!

Oh dear! Lucky yours is over...

I engage them too... But they are always saying that they are the best!

I hope mine really mean Wat the are...

Not to penalized all, not all the consultants are the same. There were really good ones as well. If not for them I will be at a lost. The new consultant who took over Grace was a sweetheart and a far cry in terms of service rendered between the both of them.

Oh dear, that is indeed a nightmare for any BTB!
I am keeping my fingers cross that my bridal salon will not give me the same experience as yours.
with so many to-do-list for any brides, I would imagine the last thing you need to worry will be the bridal salon.
I am already pulling my hair out now with the logistics arrangements!

Yeah consultants really matters as they are the ones who you will meet the most. Most important I think is that u got to be comfortable with them. Relax babe, all will be fine. I am sure yours will be a smooth sailing process and most importantly enjoy the process.

Thanks for all the super fast feedbacks dear, especially to the bride who shared her Z wedding experience! I'm quite happy with my consultant Lybia. After all the bridal shops I've been to I gotta say Z wedding does not seem to be the type of studio I would find my dress in especially when they didnt really have nice gowns displayed. However there's this particular gown I tried which made me love it on the spot. It's not for the faint hearted i guess, with beads, on top, bottom, left right, centre and back!!! Heavy like mad but oh the things we do to look good =D

I have reservations about their evening gowns, furthermore Lybia emphasized that their make up artist hairstyles tend to be more of the natural style like soft curls hair down (i'm holding out for drama hair!!!) So I didn't go ahead with the full package and only rented the dress.

Can I ask if CL is really that great a photographer? Also, I was only offered 28 poses for the package - guess it's not enough and will land ourselves in a situation where we need to top up for more?

I think even if they give you 40 photos, you'll also end up topping up. Haha..

I love Lybia but too bad I met her too late! She was really a darling. The vibes she gave came as warm unlike Grace who seem more to be like a sales person to close off your deal and get you done and over with. She was the only person when i step into the studio who made me felt at ease after my unfortunate experience with Grace. Being straight forward and mean is a fine line. Couldn't fault anyone as it was nobody mistakes but only Grace and to make matters worst was whenever I step into the studio. Her facial expression was not something which you should even show your customers when you are in a service line. That was how uncomfortable I felt whenever I step into their studio. Thank goodness I do not need to step in again.

Guess gowns are selective to each and there's no in between. Is either you adore or hated it. And again the gown consultant matters.

Babe, their MUAs are really good and a friendly bunch! Don't worry about dramatic or wayang looking makeup or hair do. Is really natural as I too hate looking not like me ( heavily make up). I am sure they are able to make you look gorgeous! Not to worry for this.

For photography it depends on what are you going for. CL team of photographers are brilliant and whacky and they are more on the natural side as well I feel. CL himself is a friendly, no fuss and straight to the point guy and wouldn't fail to assure you if ever you are uncertain. I enjoyed my photo shoot with my PG together with my MUA as I got her to follow me during my outdoor shot. If I were to say, this was the only process which I enjoyed the most during the whole wed prep. Yes they are not exactly cheap in terms of photos but is the quality that you will be paying for. So it very much depends on how you see it. And of cause not breaking your bank and you like what u see =)

CL does not really take photos for brides unless you are willing to pay for his services if I'm right. But he has assured us that his group of Photographers standards are very good...

Thanks babe :) You really put me at ease now! By any chance you could tell me who was the MUA you worked with? I would like to check out if she has any online review hehe.. i'm not so much worried about make up but hair is important to me as i have really fine and thin hair (SUCH IS LIFE... ZZZZZZ) and would love to have beautiful, luscious looking hair on my big day =D

Thanks, wow... then why are they advertising Chris Ling as the photog tag to the bridal package?

Do u guys have any idea how many pictures would you normally choose for printing? 40 or more? market rate per extra picture is 80 bucks right? If that's the case I'd rather book an external photog, and save having to spend $$$ + GST signing up extra package hehe

Hi All, will it be weird if I don't have any montage before my first march in? Headache as if it's childhood pictures both htb and me don't have much and I am thinking of skipping it. Any other advise what can I replace it with or is fine if I don't have any.

Of course it's fine, it's your wedding, just do whatever you and your htb likes! :) I'm skipping childhood montage too! ^^

Hi, I think it is perfectly fine.. I am also thinking of skipping childhood photo montage and instead do a short electric photo book with captions to show our story of getting to know each other.

Hi there! I'm a Z btb too. my MUA is Amber and SHE IS AWESOME! she is so warm and friendly, and her hands work magic. :) plus she can help w the gown!

If you intend to engage her as your MUA, please book early. I heard that she is really popular and is often booked by other brides. for me i'm lucky, my coordinator at Z took the initiative to book her for me, even before i do any reviews on the MUAs. :)

Otherwise you can look for Vincent. my friend engaged him instead as Amber isn't available, and he is good too! :) She really loves the hairdo he done for her.

Yup CL only does photoshoot session w models for Z new gown collection. I mean you can request for him, but i think it's at an additional charge.

I've done my photoshoot w another photographer under CL and he is really nice to work w too. :) I havent seen the photos yet though so i can't comment much about his works.

Additional photo is priced at 115++/photo. it's on the steep side. :(

Amber was my MUA and she's awesome! I am sure you will be happy with your hairdo. Alternatively, Vincent as well as my gf got her done by him and he does magic as well. =)

Hi dear, I heard childhood montages are not popular these days. You could do a pre-wedding video.. which lead up to your first march in. Would be great if it can set the theme of the wedding =D

hi ladies,
if my wedding is in late June, when will the hotel contact us regarding invite cards, food tasting & banquet theme deco?
I havent heard anything from my wedding coordinator on all these yet, not even a scheduled date! not sure if this is normal.

My wedding coordinator has emailed me on the dates.
Mine wedding is Early November this year.
Perhaps you may want to drop her an email to ask?

Yup!! U hav any to intro?

We went tiong bahru market to buy our ROM bouquet. They can make those usual typical ones, but can also customised to your needs.

I am weird, I don't fancy roses, neither do I like my flowers all wrapped up in a bouquet.

We we told them e want it simple, with sunflowers, and unwrapped.. in less than 10-15min, they made this for us for $28 (IIRC).

https://www.dropbox.com/s/2765mk51n0nec35/_NO_1711.jpg?dl=0

They mentioned that they make bridal bouquet too. If my bridal company only provide those typical roses bouquet, my husband and I may just purchase our own from this stall at tiong bahru market again :D

Hi~ Would like to ask if anyone has any small bridal shops/blogs to recommend? Will not be getting any packages but am looking at those which does Ala-carte Sales/Rental of gowns..
Thanks in advance~

Hello all BTBs, after reading comments about different bridal shop experiences and wedding planning progress, I would like to give all an advice.

Before signing any contract, read all the perks clearly. Have a mental list of items that you would like to have. For eg, bridal packages - some included MUA some don't. If you are too busy to source for 1, ask the bridal to include MUA as part of the package with a top up. My MUA from bridal shop even call me recently to schedule my ad timeslot with her. Good service!

In the event anything screw up, you have the contract as supporting document^^

Black and white are very important before we make any payment.

Btw I am a Apr btb. Most plannings have settled. Now left the most headache part - guest list.

Hi dear, i rented my wedding gown from Z wedding. They gave me the same price as normal gown for the elaborate one I chose. $1800 + GST totally $1926. Hope this help. Comes with alteration, and accessories like veil i think.

Hi all BTB,

I need some advise. Would you recommend ala carte for gowns rental and photography or a bridal package from those shop that offer gown rental and photography as a package. Which is more cost effective.
Thank.

Actually it all depends on which BS and which PG you take.. If you go for all high end for ala carte, it will be more expensive compared to package.

But if you take those average ala carte pricing and pg.. It should somewhat be almost the same as BS and their services combined..

There are 2 sides to the coin.. You either choose all the things you want.. Or make do with convenience by liaising with just 1 company for everything..

Hi Jayne,
I went for ala carte gown rental without the rest of the frills as the full cost is rather expensive i think 4800+ GST. Furthermore, their pre wedding photography only offers 30 poses which I am very sure will go over that number while we are selecting the pictures. At the same time, my HTB wanted a tux for the wedding and the package only offered normal suits.

Hi fellow BtBs. I have made some progress for my late July 16 wedding :)

My fiance really love Yang from Substance studio so we engaged him for AD videography! He is super nice and have shot a number of celebs, even Fann Wong's!

I randomly stumbled upon My Bridal Room gown studio yesterday after checking out Luna Juliana (snooze worthy gowns, a waste of time) and I find the Designer Ginny very adorable! Made an appointment to bring my fiance down this Sat so I'm hoping to find out what you guys think about that studio? Any reviews would be much appreciated!!!! =D
Hi huxyhuxy, I have Sign up my actual day package with My Bride Room too... Also Ginny!! She is very detail person
and u will sure be taken care in her gd hands... I am also looking at videographer from Substance Studio - Yang. Have already email him and waiting for his package price. Mind to share your videographer package with me too?

Cheers,
Alicia

Hi Alicia, I ended up taking a gown rental from Z wedding instead as the dress I like from Mybridalroom was rather plain and my mom didn't think it's WOW enough to be a wedding gown (LOL) But i love Ginny she's v cute!

As for Yang, we have signed up for their actual day videography instead of prewed+wedding day which comes up to about $5000 if i'm not wrong. His total package for pre-wed and actual about 9-10k? Kind of pricey and I was really apprehensive about spending the $ but my HTB and I met him in person and loved his personality. I guess we had some chemistry going there, so after the THREE hours (freaking long lol ) meeting we decided to sign with him. Hope this helps :)

Anyone of u encounter that fixing appointment to view and try gown need to pay a fee to bridal shop?

Do u mean while searching for the right bridal shop? If so, I think no need. I didn't encountered that. Why need to pay a fee to them?
