Bridal Package Advice Needed

Dear all BTBs or anyone who has the experience, I would like to seek advice from you ladies. :)

I am a BTB in Oct 2016. While attending a bridal fair with fiance the other day, we stupidly signed on a package with one of bridal shop. (We did not know how is the market rate and did not do enough research) To my horror, I was told that our package lacked of many many things. I was also disappointed to visit the bridal shop physically and they do not have a "shop", this makes me very uneasy. Luckily, our deposit was only S$300.

Would you ladies recommend me to select a better shop outside?

One of my friend suggested that I should just carry on with the PS with this shop but select another shop for AD because my current package lack of many things for AD. Is it possible?

If I were to select another shop just for AD, any recommendations?

Thank you in advance! :)

Hello
I'm getting married the 2nd time so I'm less easy to be persuaded by sales talk haha. Hope I can offer some help here.

Do a search on your shop review. If there are more bad than good reviews, don't waste more money and risk disappointment. Forgo $300. Sunk cost already, don't sink further.

You may also want to check if the shop is going to threaten to give you less things if you decide to opt for only photo shoot and not full package. There are black shops out there. If you get a bad feeling when negotiating with them, chances are your hunch is correct. Leave!

Also see if you like their photo shoot gowns. Shops have a different selection of gowns for AD and shoot. Don't go try AD gowns which are nicer and then get a ride shock when you select gowns for shoot.

If you like the photo shoot package and online review is good but not sure about AD, shop around first before deciding. I kept my options open. I signed a photo shoot package with Cangai and AD package with Gowns Villa. Yes I paid a bit more but I know I'm not over-compromising and I want to love my AD gowns.

Don't just go for price.

Good luck and happy shopping!

Hi, I am not sure what is in your package, but I guess the most basic stuff should include at least rental of 1 bridal gown, 1 evening gown, 1/2 men's suit, make-up artist (usually till first march-in), bridal car decorations, bridal bouquet, corsages, etc. I've gotten a pre-wedding and AD package with My Bridal Room, but I know their AD package is $2988. You can use this as a rough gauge to assess whether the amount you are paying now is worth it or not.

Anyway, I saw on MBR's FB page that they are having a SG50 promotion now for AD packages. You may want to check it out if you are interested. They have pretty good reviews about their service on forums and so far, everything has been going quite well for me. :) Other alternatives you may want to consider is Bqueens. They provide home-based gown rental services at very affordable prices. Of course, most importantly, you must take a look at their gowns, try it if you can, before you make any decision :)
