What is the purpose of your wedding song? For march in?
And what kind of music is your type? Pop/rock/etc, english/chinese? It is hard to give suggestions without much to go on.

Love Song - Sara Bareilles, So nice - Olivia Ong, Dream a little dream of me - Diana Krall, Kiss me - Sixpence none the richer, Marry you - Bruno Mars, Make it Mutual, Olivia Ong, The luckiest - Ben folds, All that I need - Corrinne May, Love story - taylor swift.

If I didn't remember wrongly, our second march in was to Make it Mutual, second verse. Our first was a orchestra piece. Hope this helps.

Personally I don't like Marry Me because it's overdone =P and the lyrics "We're looking for something dumb to do" doesn't sound good. But that's just me la.

We're gonna use the piano version of the animated movie Anastasia ending song.

Indeed. The lyrics isn't the best but it is a few songs that does set the mood for me, I just didn't want a boring march in I guess. Still looking for better songs.

I've not heard of Anastasia ending song, it's nice. Very meaningful song.

This is the list of songs we used at our wedding in chronological order:

1) Childhood montage video: Love Through The Years (Kenny Rogers), Lucky (Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat)
2) Morning church solemnization ceremony march-in: Romantic Amazing Grace (Miranda Wong)
3) Church worship: Great Is Thy Faithfulness (hymn), Because Of Your Love (Paul Baloche), Amazing Grace (hymn)
3) Signing of ROM certificate: The Marriage Prayer (John+Josie Waller)
4) Morning church solemnization ceremony march-out: Everything (Michael Buble)
5) Banquet dinner first march-in + Cake-cutting: Beautiful In White (Shane Filan, credited as Shayne Ward)
6) First dish presentation: Happy (Pharrell Williams)
7) Banquet dinner second march-in: A Quoi Ca Sert L'amour (Edith Piaf & Theo Sarapo) [Catchy French classic that first questions what good can love bring and all the possible sorrows and sufferings that come with it but the song ends on a super positive note that life is nothing if you have never experienced love and all its joys and the singer remarks that love is worth it with her partner for he is her first and he shall be her last and that she will always love him]
8) Champagne pouring and first toasting to each other as a couple: Marry Me (Train) [Not "Marry You" by Bruno Mars - don't agree with the lyrics for that one although it can be a catchy song]

If you want to find out more about the songs listed, you can either Google it or check out our wedding videos (link in my signature below).. Have fun deciding on your songs! :)

Either get the album or buy the song from iTunes... ;)
That's the thing I was curious about too. My hotel coordinator told us we can purchase the album or songs from iTunes and have a copy of the proof of purchase. But what if we buy the CD and we only wanna ensure certain songs are being played? Can I burn those songs out into a separate CD or rip it to my laptop and play from there?

You can rip it and save the songs you want onto your laptop... Just make sure that it's ripped from the original album and bring the original album with you in case the officers do a spotcheck then you can show them the album... :)

@jkwedding308 downloading from youtube is much easier but probably not legal. Cos some songs I want are quite unheard of haha so I'm not sure if I wanna buy the disc just for the song. Can't be sure I can find the disc even.

That's why there's the other alternative: just buy off a single tune from iTunes or Amazon or any other legal Internet music provider... ;)

That song falls under the grey area of uncopyrighted songs.. It's like some very old classical music pieces that you know was composed by a certain musician yet has no more copyright over that piece hence anyone can play it freely without any issues.. Similarly, because there isn't a proper copyright for this song per se, you won't be able to find it on iTunes or any other legal music provider either so just Google search for the song and download any MP3 that you can find of the song where the quality's still reasonably ok..

Hi all,

I am also looking for weddings songs, but do not know how to do it. Let's say if i buy it from itunes, i will then sync it to my laptop to play on my wedding day or any other alternative way?

I know its a dumb question, but anyone can help?

Hi,

Is it possible to stream the march-in song from youtube? is it illegal ?

Regardless whether it's legal or not, I would suggest against streaming from youtube or any other online music streaming service for that matter... Yes, our Internet providers in Singapore have pretty good and fast Internet but you can never be sure when things can go wrong... I'm sure you wouldn't want to march in halfway and the music suddenly stops because the Internet is "hanging" or the music is still "loading"..

Haha no question is too dumb... ;) Whether you buy it from iTunes or some other site, just download the bought song onto the device that you want to play on your actual day (e.g. laptop, tablet, etc) but remember to keep the receipt (or whatever soft copy proof of purchase) in case they decide to spot-check your venue that day... Best to let your AV helpers and coordinators know where to find this receipt or proof of purchase so they don't have to hassle you and stress you out on the actual day when there are a lot of other things that will already be occupying your mind...

Hmmm, i don't mind getting the itunes version. Just that my friend wanted to sing as a gift for my wedding when i march in. Itunes doesn't sell the song with instrumental. It only comes with the singer with it. The only place i can find the song with instrumental is youtube. =( That's why.

That's a nice gesture on your friend's part... Your friend may not be aware but him/her singing during your march-in may steal a lil limelight from you and your groom... There's 2 ways to go about this:

1) If you're still ok with your friend singing during your march-in, either find the instrumental version elsewhere (there are other Internet music providers apart from iTunes or you can try music shops that carry karaoke versions of songs - those will work too) or get friends to play the live music of that song while your friend sings...

Or...

2) Explain the difficulty of getting the instrumental version to your friend and tell him/her how much you appreciate his/her kind thoughts. Let him/her know that he/she is not obliged to still sing but if he/she still really wants to, then for him/her to do it as a separate item on the agenda rather than during the march-in...

Ultimately you're the bride and if it's within reasonable means, you get to call the shots here... ;)

Recently chanced upon this wedding song. Found the lyrics very meaningful and simple to understand, tune very soothing and romantic.
Will be using this song for our video montage :)

"Take My Hand (The Wedding Song) [Feat. Will Anderson]" by Emily Hackett.
