hi, anyone got any OCC Wedding Photos to share? Am considering its for my venue. Mine is 25 tables/Lunch/Grand Ballroom. (managed to negotiate for grand ballroom)
cause i am worried that with 25 tables, the ballroom might be too empty? any comments?

Hihi,

i had mine in e grand ballroom in Sept 2011, had a bit of prob wif my coordinator during e arrangements for e AD, even until e AD itself, still hav a few things not settled... luckily e banquet coordinator helped us to ensure e banquet run smoothly...

E food is not bad, we changed some of e dishes after e food tasting, our guests all enjoyed e food... e setting is nice as well...

Peach garden is one of the restaurant located in occ but not under them. So if u are engaging occ alone u have to email occ.. If u engage occ but with peach garden food, u have to let occ knows & they will arrange

I have signed the banquet with them. I have attended friend's wedding there and the food is not bad. I'm allowed to choose Peach Garden Menu or OCC menu.

Hi EK27, thanks for sharing. May I know which menu did you choose, the OOC or Peach Garden menu?

I haven choose yet cos according to them the menu will change half yearly. My ad is in July so maybe choose next year. No worries, in the contract when u sign, they will put the low cost table amount for you first. So u can decide later actually which menu package u wAnt. Most impt, secure the date n ballroom first.

Just spoke to OCC at BOWS ytd and find that the layout and pricing seems to be quite reasonable.

My only concern is the accessibility and any outdoor ROM location in the club itself.

I have just confirmed my wedding dinner at Peach Garden at Orchid Country Club. Initially wanted the grand ballroom but I have about 25 - 30 tables which the club recommend me at sapphire room. After comparing with Peach Garden, realise that they offer free flow beer and wine, and the menu is so much better that I have decided to have it in the restaurant since I can't use the ballroom. They event offer me a room with greenery view for my ROM.

Hi Jas

Low ceiling and lighting is too bright. I like the location as it is away from busy city area and there is free parking for all.
By the way ballroom is too huge for our expected tables and decided to use Peach Garden restaurant instead.

Hi all,

hws ur experience wif them so far?? their perks are quite ok tho.. haha i like their free parking tho.. lol so dun hv to worry the guest hv to pay and fight for the parking lot.. but dats provided there are no other wedding / event dat nite..

@ hamz.. think the terms u can negotiate.. so try to ask wat you wan and hopefully they can give to u??

prob the OCC brides can share your experience wif us here???

Wanted to try negotiate with them for min. 30 or 32 tables instead of min. 35 but failed.
Totally unable to negotiate so we had to give OCC up :(
Ended up booking MBS.
Sigh,

Hi all,

Was eyeing on OCC, as I only max 10 tables and the cost meet my requirement...
how is the exprience there? how is the bridal room? what are the perk ?
PM me

Has anyone attended or held their wedding at OCC? We're considering the location, but not sure about the food and service there. Does Peach Garden's food or OCC's food taste better? Can I still use the OCC ballrooms if I choose to go with Peach Garden's menu or would I have to top up extra for the venue? My friend who attended a wedding there a few years back only found the food and service to be so-so, but does not know if the food was catered by Peach Garden or OCC.
Appreciate if someone can share their experiences! :)

Hi jus saw ur post.. am not sure if its too late for me to share my experiences here with you..

Personally think u hv to keep in mind dat the ballroom side n the sales team are 2 diff pple handling..

For my wedding it was actually cocked up on the cocktail reception.. there was a miscommunication between the banquet captain and the sales manager.. my guest has already arrived and they refused to serve them and showed me the email communication between himself and the sales manager and indeed it was the wrong timing reflected.. I told the captain dat it no point arguing who is right or wrong and what has went wrong but he has the responsibility to fix it and serve my guest now as they has already arrived..

The screen projector was also faulty and we have to make do only for the side projector which is so small and my guest sitting at the back could hardly see the montage..

Next is the service... 1 of the servers actually broke the plates jus right in front of me and as a Chinese we definitely don't like dat to happen be it superstitious or professionalism.. and another one nearly served the whole bowl of dessert at my guest face.. the bowl slipped onto the table.. and for the food wise.. one of my guest table saw hair on the cold dish served.. and some others feedbacks that their fishes r not fresh..

Had feedbacked to the sales manager on all these during payment time and he insist dat we settled the bill first and later give us some compensation on it.. my hubby being kind and trusting settled the bill... in the end he mentioned dat our feedback came too late and only offer us a dinner for 9 person at Vanda Terrace ..

I din see their sincerity really to compensate us to make us feel better about the whole event.. but jus to shoo us away as he has areadi collected his bills n commission..

But one thing I have to compliment banquet manager dat he really try to resolve our problem during the wedding and did his best for us tho it was obviously someone not doing his job with his heart.. but before I can thank this Captain, he has left the organisation.. so an advise to u all is to be very very comfortable and sure dat ur sales and banquet captain are responsible pple as I think u will not want a cock up dinner for your once in a lifetime wedding..

P.S tho I shld not be thinking tis way but both my fathers met with mishap jus right after the wedding.. in Jan and Feb.. I couldn't help but relate back to the broken plates incident dat happened..

Aside to my personal experience, do note that their presidential suite although is very big and spacious, they only have 1 toilet with shower facilities , the other one is jus a normal toilet. So if u hv your families and frens who wan to wash up before the dinner etc then u hv to make sure they arrive early and don't take too long for their showers..

You can choose your menu between Peach Garden and their own OCC menu.. for me I chose peach garden as they commented that u prefer to have quantity or quality... so for me I chose quality.. so peach garden was decided... they have food tasting so that you can feedback on their food... but one of the cold dish I ask for separate sauce but in the end they din give sauce for us at all.. so dat dish is bland!!! Haiz...

Yes u can still use their ballroom even if u go for peach garden menu but they do have min tables requirement if 40 tables... try to negotiate with them if u can't fulfil the table requirements.. but if its too little it won't look nice in the ballroom oso cos its too space out and if your guest are not outgoing kind they may not hv the cosy feeling.. I negotiated with them on the min requirement but in the end still hv more than 40 tables..

Well tis is my experience to share and congrats to all of u out there who is getting married ... blissful marriage

Hi! I've signed with occ and my wedding is next month. I just had the food tasting on Monday. Overall was good but just 1 or 2 dishes we wanted to change but the sales manager hasn't gotten back to us yet. So far I felt that the sales manager service is so-so. More of "u ask me then I answer" kind. Rather than a more warm or proactive kind which I would prefer.

Was there any difference in the quality of the food on the AD and food tasting?

And may I ask who's ur sales manager?

Thanks!

Hi pighoho,

If I'm not wrong they only hv 1 sales manager which is a guy.. think I shall not mention his name here.. dun wan to crack his rice bowl.. he is quite nua at first till almost 2 weeks before the wedding before he got back to us.. u just be proactive to push him jus in case..

U took the peach garden menu? Mine food tasting was good n I've changed the fish but the actual day turn out dat a few tables feedback dat it is not fresh.. n my cold dish I requested the sauce to be separate on the jellyfish but turn out they din give me the sauce at all for all the tables.. we had tasteless jellyfish ..

Hi all, may i know if anyone have tried to book for the grand ballroom but able to get less than the min 40 table requirements? cos i heard they are able to give a buggy for the 2nd march in, but that is only applicable for the grand ballroom..
