Has anyone attended or held their wedding at OCC? We're considering the location, but not sure about the food and service there. Does Peach Garden's food or OCC's food taste better? Can I still use the OCC ballrooms if I choose to go with Peach Garden's menu or would I have to top up extra for the venue? My friend who attended a wedding there a few years back only found the food and service to be so-so, but does not know if the food was catered by Peach Garden or OCC.
Appreciate if someone can share their experiences!
Hi jus saw ur post.. am not sure if its too late for me to share my experiences here with you..
Personally think u hv to keep in mind dat the ballroom side n the sales team are 2 diff pple handling..
For my wedding it was actually cocked up on the cocktail reception.. there was a miscommunication between the banquet captain and the sales manager.. my guest has already arrived and they refused to serve them and showed me the email communication between himself and the sales manager and indeed it was the wrong timing reflected.. I told the captain dat it no point arguing who is right or wrong and what has went wrong but he has the responsibility to fix it and serve my guest now as they has already arrived..
The screen projector was also faulty and we have to make do only for the side projector which is so small and my guest sitting at the back could hardly see the montage..
Next is the service... 1 of the servers actually broke the plates jus right in front of me and as a Chinese we definitely don't like dat to happen be it superstitious or professionalism.. and another one nearly served the whole bowl of dessert at my guest face.. the bowl slipped onto the table.. and for the food wise.. one of my guest table saw hair on the cold dish served.. and some others feedbacks that their fishes r not fresh..
Had feedbacked to the sales manager on all these during payment time and he insist dat we settled the bill first and later give us some compensation on it.. my hubby being kind and trusting settled the bill... in the end he mentioned dat our feedback came too late and only offer us a dinner for 9 person at Vanda Terrace ..
I din see their sincerity really to compensate us to make us feel better about the whole event.. but jus to shoo us away as he has areadi collected his bills n commission..
But one thing I have to compliment banquet manager dat he really try to resolve our problem during the wedding and did his best for us tho it was obviously someone not doing his job with his heart.. but before I can thank this Captain, he has left the organisation.. so an advise to u all is to be very very comfortable and sure dat ur sales and banquet captain are responsible pple as I think u will not want a cock up dinner for your once in a lifetime wedding..
P.S tho I shld not be thinking tis way but both my fathers met with mishap jus right after the wedding.. in Jan and Feb.. I couldn't help but relate back to the broken plates incident dat happened..
Aside to my personal experience, do note that their presidential suite although is very big and spacious, they only have 1 toilet with shower facilities , the other one is jus a normal toilet. So if u hv your families and frens who wan to wash up before the dinner etc then u hv to make sure they arrive early and don't take too long for their showers..
You can choose your menu between Peach Garden and their own OCC menu.. for me I chose peach garden as they commented that u prefer to have quantity or quality... so for me I chose quality.. so peach garden was decided... they have food tasting so that you can feedback on their food... but one of the cold dish I ask for separate sauce but in the end they din give sauce for us at all.. so dat dish is bland!!! Haiz...
Yes u can still use their ballroom even if u go for peach garden menu but they do have min tables requirement if 40 tables... try to negotiate with them if u can't fulfil the table requirements.. but if its too little it won't look nice in the ballroom oso cos its too space out and if your guest are not outgoing kind they may not hv the cosy feeling.. I negotiated with them on the min requirement but in the end still hv more than 40 tables..
Well tis is my experience to share and congrats to all of u out there who is getting married ... blissful marriage
