Mine is 12 june 2015. My fiancè tried their Sunday lunch n he like their food. I think food wise Shldnt be bad coz their cooks only cook for wedding banquets.

Hi Cheerojess, i m considering GCW too! I heard lot of comment saying that their food not bad. I havent view their ballroom yet. Anyone seen their waterfront ballroom? Any pillars blocking? High ceilings?

I went to the grand ballroom for wedding before and behind the stage curtains there is this special stage...not sure how to describe but very special. but i think they only have one theme for now.

Heh, I typed a long msg n when I post reply, all went missing! :(
Ok, lazy to type long story now.

my bride fetching should be on my ROM date. which is what my shifu gave me. he said that Chinese ceremony is to be on 23rd sept (wed)
so wed, most prolly my htb will come my place pick me, then go his place. then do those Chinese stuff, blah blah blah la. then after that go ROM (still thinking how I wanna hold it, Yacht/restaurant/hotel suite)

then AD is 4 days later. should be just check in hotel, relac abit. have a nice bath n wait for my MUA to arrive. prepare for tea ceremony at 6pm. then go up change white gown n start dinner at 8pm :)

haha yes its a long reply, I think the post re appeared again on top but its very detailed! Actually for me I also not sure about the chinese customs so my ROM is end of 2014, and my wedding lunch is going to be next year. We split the 2 coz we need to submit our ROM to HDB but we have no time to plan for a 2014 wedding so my boyfriend say next year is better for wedding. Alternatively we also were thinking of doing ROM + Reception at outdoor venue such as Royal Plaza on Scotts but its also not that cheap. so we may just do it at the National Library Garden which the rental is only $70 i think for 3 hours. Our bride fetching and tea ceremony will be on same day as banquet. wa i din know from 2 to 6pm there's quite a lot of time to relax..haha...

I haven't booked a venue yet, was shortlisting between GCW and Conrad. GCW's food is quite nice and the portions are HUGE...had a feast during my friend's wedding haha...

I went to view the smaller ballrooms Galleria and Riverfront. Riverfront min is 17 tables so we may be getting that if we book with GCW, and yes the ceiling is quite high. My co ordinator is Eddric, but no one here I noticed has heard about him... hmm but think better to book during wedding show.

Dear BTBs,

Have any of you ladies know of any hotels which have policy about the songs which you wanna play during your AD?

I heard some hotels require copyrights?

Yes indeed. In fact, I believe most hotels do. But you'd be safe if you have the original CD or you've actually purchased the tracks legally.

I understand from my VG that is best to check with the hotel on what songs the hotel have. If it is not to your liking, then you need to purchase license to play it during your wedding day. Do check with your coordinator 2 months before your actual day. Cause it could be a real hassle..

I've booked the Waterfront ballroom for my dinner next year and my coordinator is Eddric too. At first was Xavier but he got transferred to do corporate sales, so hopefully Eddric is as good as Xavier. Yea, there are 2 large pillars in the room but Xavier has given us suggestions on what to do, so we feel at ease with the pillars.

Another reason why we took Waterfront instead of Riverfront (we really like Riverfront, still do like it very much) is due to the room size. Riverfront is too small for us (approx 25 tables)

You might want to consider love potion or beyoutiful. You can add them at facebook to look at the range of collection gown that they have.

There is no fix way. Depends what you want ...

Some couples skip gate crash and some included... It can be like .....

1) make up at home , gatecrash, to the venue of your ROM (Church/Restaurant/Hotel, tea ceremony, ROM, buffet/sit-down dining with guest
2) skip gate crash, make up straight at ROM venue... and the rest are pretty the same.

There is no fix rules, ultimately both side of the families have to agreed on the process will do.

Hello all! Any advice on when to go TW for photoshoot during Sakura season? Would end feb or early march be better?

May I ask where did u have ur shoot? And are the sakuras dark or pale pink/white kind?

However e sakura blossomed differently every year... initially we planned to go Yang Ming Shan for e sakura shoot but e photographer said that most of it hv been hit down by e rain so he suggested to go another place which i dont know e name of that location. U gotta be prepared that its gg to be very cold n rainy during that season. I was shivering throughout haha. Sakura was pink!

Yup. When I was there I was lucky enough that e sakura was still blooming very nicely. Though e yang ming shan ones had been hit down by e rain. According to my coordinator it shouldnt be raining in March. So i guess if u go in March next yr it will just b cold n not doubly cold from e rain haha. It was very nice of my MUA to offer me her shawl to keep me warm... but I hv no regrets gg there during that period of time despite e weather. In my opinion, if not for e sakura photos then i think its not worth gg to tw for e shoot as most of e photos look very commercialised with couples gg to e same place for shoot. I can share with u a few of those sakura photos if u want so that u can decide better whether u want to sacrifice for e sakura not hehe.

Totally agree on the sakura and the commercialized place for shoot!

However if u cant take the cold and wanted to go taiwan shoot, my advice is not to go those designated wedding shoot places, too much ppl went there and is always the same thing...

Suggest u can try to explore other places...we went to a temple and a night market to shoot and it turn out unique too!

You may wanna ask for
1. waiver of cockage fees
2. meeting room or room for solemnisation (if you need)
3. more complimentary car parking coupon
4. extra helpers room
5. extra nights of stay for the couple

Just some extra perks :)

We're skipping pre photos, but our AD photographer will help us take some couple photos around our venue before the rom signing and lunch. We're skipping the fetching entirely too, too lazy to be bothered with it haha.

Alyoop, u really did that?! Whoa! Then both parties meet directly at the hotel? No need to light long-feng candles as well?
